Can I ask you an honest question? I’m a Bronco fan and a lot of mock drafts have us drafting him, but I am not sold on him at all. I think Penix and Bo Nix are better passers. Playing at Michigan, in the regular season JJ had more significantly more talent than every opponent besides Ohio State. Despite JJ having a huge talent advantage he put up mediocre passing numbers. And Harbough likes to sling the ball, he let Collin Kaepernick throw the ball a lot. The fact that Harbough didn’t have the confidence to let JJ cook, even against lesser opponents is very telling. It shows that Harbough didn’t have confidence in JJ throwing and that is very worrying. And before you mention their running game. Alabama and Georgia have had elite running games but Kirby and Saban would still let their QBs sling it, but Harbough didn’t. Take the fact that you’re a Michigan fan out of the equation, what do you think of him as a passer?

@@Firethetruegamer The Vikings will extend Jefferson in 2024 through 2027-2028 (Tops) At that point, McCarthy has to be paid a 60+ million record deal. JJ is now 28-29 years old. And needs a new deal. Which is all but impossible. In the event that Minn is happy with the production they got from Jefferson’s first deal, that would make his next deal even more expensive. The Vikings , much like KC, would not be able to pay record QB1 money and record WR1 money at the same time. Meaning it’ll never work. And never come close to “10+ years” (Absolutely ridiculous statement btw) You’re gonna get 2-3 years of JJ to JJ. And at best, McCarthy starts Week 1, 2024 and plays along side Jefferson through 2027-28. It’s 2-3 years (95%) 4-5 years (4.9 %) 10+ (0.1%) If you want to say “ya never know” in the same spirit you’d say it when referring to your chances to win the Powerball lotto grand prize, then by all means……….. *YA NEVER KNOW*

This guy is not any typr of guaranteed starting caliber QB. He is not a 1st round prospect. But because of the desperate ways of the NFL and the he will be drafted 1st rd. I hope the Vikings pick the best player if Penix and Williams are gone. None of the rest have enough to them to be chosen in the 1st. Teams are going to pass on at least a couple perennial allstars to draft a bust at QB. Mark my words.

Would he? He posted very pedestrian numbers regardless of offensive system. There are QBs who play in similar systems who don't routinely throw for under 200 yards. You could be right, but we don't know, which is part of the problem. What we DO know is that it's a lot easier to throw the ball when you're operating behind a great OL and an outstanding rushing game. How will he perform in the NFL if he has neither one? The interesting thing about this guy to me is the fact that there is another QB in this draft with an arm like his, who played in an offense like his...probably even more suited to the NFL...& who has what appears to me to be a more NFL ready game. That guy has been punished for leaving an Air Raid, video game type offense & seeking out a school where he would learn NFL concepts. He's gone from a sure-fire 1st round pick, possibly the #1 pick in the draft, to a 3rd or 4th rounder. Why? Because he lost his job to the guy who will be picked #1 in this year's draft. I'm talking about Spencer Rattler of course. To me he looks like a more dynamic talent than JJ McCarthy, & he can be had later in the draft. By the way...I say this as a Michigan Wolverines fan.

How many highly rated guys have come to Michigan that had all the hype but never panned out. Seemed like for 15 years or so that was the case, then this JJ kid comes along. He comes in, learns behind Cade McNamara, in an era where all these kids wanna start and get paid, he waited and earned his starting spot. Then to promise all of us fans after the disaster that was the TCU game that they would be back, and to deliver on that and bring a Championship back to Ann Arbor, go 3-0 against the buckeyes, he absolutely lived up to the hype. This kid is going to be a top 5 draft pick and whoever gets him is extremely blessed. I will miss watching him throw dots all over the field, good luck kid 🥹

After watching these highlights, I didn't see anything that any other QB entering this draft cannot do (Winning a title doesn't count, Michigan fans). No doubt McCarthy will go in the first round, but I don't see what others see in him that makes him more talented than Maye, Williams, or even Nix

JJ played against 4 ranked Teams this year and this number were: 65 for 95 with 656 yrs 4tds - 0 Picks @ 67.9% completion ........ Those number don't wow me, in my opinion I would say JJ is a 2nd rounder, he could be good if he sits behind a Vet for a year or 2.
