Perfect contract imo. Any team that has a solid defensive structure and needs more depth scoring should be chomping at the bit to sign him for a bottom 6 role.

He’s not getting a fair shake in Detroit, healthy scratch in multiple games because the coach is apparently not satisfied with his defensive game. Wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves for somewhere else

Keep these coming, great content! And I have to say something. The past 15+ videos I've mostly listened, took a peek or two here and there, but it doesn't feel like I've missed anything. What I mean by that is that you explain and give information by talking so very well that if I miss a little bit of stats that are on the screen, it really doesn't matter.

Jani Hakanpaa is a big RHD that I could see going under the radar considering he finished the season injured and missed the playoffs. On a bottom pair in a big physical shut down role I think he could do quite well and only command about 1.5-2mil in FA and for a team trying to contend he could be a great add especially come playoffs

William Carrier seems like a fit in stl - they’re without sundqvist some amount of time and are a forward short before that, have a lot of young guys who will need vets around them to grow. But maybe would be challenging to get him interested as they’re outside of the playoffs right now.

I could also see samsonov on New Jersey. A tandem of him and Allen might be good. Also the big 3 young Russian goalies(samsonov sorokin shesterkin) will be on big rivalry teams!

A smart GM wouldn’t touch sprong. In the Dzone, he’s like that meme where the controller dies. You literally cannot play him in the 3rd period in a close game. Not sure people understand that fully because we get blinded by his stats, complete liability.

Alex Carrier is worth a 3 year 4 Mil per year contract all day (remember kids, over 4M$ salary cap increase coming up). Any deal below that will indeed be a steal.

4 mil AAV for a 4th liner is coming soon, but not quite yet. His last contract was about 1.7% of the cap at the time of the signing, and if he jumps to about 2.5% of the current cap, he will sign for 2.2 million AAV. 4 million is 4.5% of the cap, and just not really a feasible contract for a 4th line grinder/physical forward.

Nick Blankenburg could be an underrated pickup. Hasn’t got a full shot at the NHL yet but could be a solid 3rd pairing/7D guy if he can prove his worth. Danton Heinen had a great season in Boston. He’ll get a raise but he’s an excellent Swiss Army knife player who can play on line 1 or 4. Great in all 3 zones. Grzelcyk is an interesting one. He just came off a pretty bad year. At his best, he’s a great puck moving defender and is great at defending the rush. He has an injury history though and folds in the playoffs as the physicality overwhelms him due to his small size. Wouldn’t be a good fit on a team pushing for the cup but maybe a rebuilding team or team trying to push for the playoffs.

Id be interested to see the canucks sign trenin and/or lebanc. If they dont resign Joshua, lebanc might be a good fit with garland. He cant carry a line in sanjose but he could ride the coat tails of a couple better players. Trenin could be on either the 3rd or 4th line as well to add some grit. Could also fit with garland? Cant say ive paid too much attention to either of their careers but from what is generally known about these guys, tocchet and the coaching staff might be able to pull a little extra outta these guys

Lebanc may never produce like he did in 2018, but I think he was insanely handicapped by Quinn‘s coaching style. He could definitely be a surprise pick up if put in the right situation. I am so glad the Sharks got rid of Quinn before all of their high level prospects coming in, joined the club.

I’d love if the caps would bring back Spronger and move on from guys like Patches, Oshie, Aube-Kubel, I just think you need offensive production and sprong can provide a team with that in the right role. And all of the guys mentioned above are just eating up cap and not really producing anymore

But if we can get a great return for him plus make space for Danielson, Mazur, or one of the other guys that are nhl ready, I’d love to see that Grand Rapids depth make its way onto the nhl stage. It could really free up cap space to seal the deal with Kane or even another star player.

So Kane will probably walk. He will ask 6-7 mil 4 years. Also if anyone else comes up. I can see it around the deadline

Labanc feels like a potential Drouin 2.0, cheap 1 year prove it deal ... 0 risk. Carrier could be very interesting for a rebuilding team in need of a top4esque under 30 vet. Samsonov could be signed as a 1b or backup, highly doubt any team will sign him as 1a unless it’s a bottom feeding team, he still has good potential and could be worth it. Carrier #2 could easily be on the 3rd line of the vast majority of teams in the league, he’s getting a raise, maybe a big one. Sprong needs to join a team with cup aspirations, his 100% offense 0 defense reputation is greatly exaggerated, but i don’t see him getting the contracts he wants until he gets rid of that reputation either by working on his defensive play, by being even better offensively and/or by winning a cup, sadly. Not familiar with Trenin, but 12 goals on a 4th line is a pretty good production, possibilities of 15+ on a third ?
