I'm with you. Why didn't Roberts point out that in 1st 0 out, with Shohei and Mookie on 3rd and 2nd, the next 3 batters (Teo, Freddie and Tommy) couldn't bring them home? No one made a sac fly. They were the problem.

Roberts punted game 5 by not starting Honeywell instead of Flaherty who he should've given two more days off to recover after finishing the season weakly and showing a velocity loss . And high ERA the final two months of the reg season. Now they're getting ready to go over the cliff because he burnt out two starters. He kept saying he wanted to save the pen for game 6 and 7. But once you get to game 5 every game is like a game 7. In the playoffs every game is usually important. He could've burned out Knack instead of Honeywell! He could've started Honewell in game 7. Then he keeps running Smith and Freeman out there like a fool. I'd put Barnes behind the plate in game 6 and 7. The Dodgers were rolling good. Then Roberts tanked the whole season in game 5 of the NLCS! He gets more confident over time. Roberts must have been paid well over 9 years. He looks like he probably reached 20 or 30 million so he's comfortable now when he knows the ax has to fall one of these days! Every manager gets fired sooner or later. Roberts legacy will be the guy who robbed the Dodgers out of several titles by his bungling ineptitude.

Yeah that's right. Teoscar's slumping too. Freddie,Smith,and Teoscar are half dead right now. That forces you to bench all three and play Taylor or Kiermaier in left , and Barnes behind the plate! But then look at all the pinch hitters you've got coming off the bench as late inning replacements. Dave really pushed the team's backs against the wall in game 5 by ignoring Flaherty being dead and burning up Honeywell AND FLAHERTY instead of Knack! Two more days of rest for Flaherty and he could've pitched game 6 or even a game 7 after having a chance to recover! Even an early removal after just a few hitters faced would've been okay! Then Jack woulv'e been ready for game 7 and up to five innings! Roberts really dogged it! He burned up Flaherty . AND Honeywell from starting any of the last three games. Roberts made the Dodgers team commit suicide in the NLCS while they had the upper hand and in hot pursuit of the title ! And the Mets and Yankees showing significant weaknesses! Dave's punting the whole season.

Roberts need not say anything to the press. They should all be on a need to know basis. Just like with the 2020 games. He didn’t say anything about this game or that and what they were doing. And he needs to stop that now. They need to come out with surprise moves and keep it close to the vest as to who’s pitching and who’s doing what. That is the way you play the game in the post season. Along with making the right moves at the right time.
