The first 2024 Outback Wilderness that we've had here long enough that I could make a video of it! They've been arriving and leaving so quickly that I haven't had time to do a full walk-through of a 2024 Wilderness until now!

By far the best description of the 2024 Outback Wilderness that I have seen, and I've seen dozens. If you had a green one available immediately, I would come from Edmonton and buy it!!

This vehicle seems really cool and practical. Full size spare, usable roof rack, huge trunk, the little touches like the foot grip. I want one! Excellent walk through video. I would watch you review other vehicles as well. If you wanted to quit your day job…you could😊

I don’t know any vehicles this size that will tow 5000lbs that isn't on a truck frame. I doubt we'll see a "conventional" transmission in the Outback, or any other Subarus, for that matter.

Subaru should hire you to do videos - you do a great job! This car is exactly like the Wilderness my wife fell in love with & had to have. She loves that green color & the contrasting faux copper trim. We wish that Subaru would have included 2 drink risers, and that California dealers would offer seminars for owners like Land Rover dealers do. Would be cool if you could show how to pop off those copper colored bumper caps & how to install & use the tow hooks.

Send them a message telling them that, please! It would be super cool if Subaru offered something like LR does! I'd love to attend something like that! I'll see what I can do in regards to making a video about the tow hook covers and the hook itself.

Thx. The other funny thing is TomTom, which loves to say "Exit right ahead", which makes it sound like we should take the Next exit. My wife, Asian, thinks TomTom's programmers are too, since, per her, Asians skip words and don't pause between words. Mid 24, Subaru is coming out with the 25 Forester which will be available with the hybrid system taken from the RAV4.

If we had the inventory, it would be the Wilderness. But it's the Limited XT or Onyx as we get a decent amount of them.

You mentioned a change in the skid plate. Can you cover in a future video?

I did! You are correct, I neglected to show it in the video. Essentially, they've gotten rid of the "extra" skid plates and just stuck with the radiator/turbo skid plate. Next time we get one in, which seems like it will be a long while, I'll do a video showing it.

Is the fuel door lock standard on all models? Where the fuel door is locked when the driver side door is locked.

They are not available to order at this point in time - it looks like they're a discontinued item at the moment. Likely because they were produced in Russia. I would recommend looking at LP Aventure or Primitive Offroad for aftermarket skid plates.

At 4:27, I'd like to add that it can even be the spray from a car wash/pressure washer nozzle that opens it, especially if you're standing to the side of the rear of the car and spraying across the back. Before you know it, you'll have soap and water all over the inside of the cargo space. So, it's best to push the button by the steering wheel to turn that off before washing it. Or, if you're like me, you can just leave it off entirely, so you never have to try to remember. Also, the Canadian version of the previous generation Outback Wilderness got a heated steering wheel while the U.S. version didn't. Now, the Canadian version gets the third eyesight camera while the U.S. version doesn't. What's up with these updated features not being available on U.S. models? And, the fact that we end up paying more, even accounting for currency conversion, makes it doubly disappointing.

That's an interesting experience you've had with the proximity hatch. I can't say that with all of the pressure washing I've done to the Outback over the years that I've ever had it pop open, even with the key on my person. But you're right, if you want to be extra cautious, you should turn the proximity button off for it. Guess we're just lucky to get all of the latest features up here in Maple Land!

We aren't really lucky. There's literally zero inventory all over Canada for all cars except maybe for luxurious brands. My brother ordered the most basic hybrid toyota camry. At first it was 8 months wait time, it's now 12.

Gorgeous car, but interior is really dated and conservative. I know it pleases it's older crowd, and is functional. This car with a Kia modern interior and a 9 speed tranny would be a dream.

I don't know if I'd consider it dated by any means. It might not be the flashiest, but Subaru typically sticks to what they know works and never make giant changes. Just the way they are.
