I have the paccar as well, but I’m a little jealous you have the extended hood 😂 makes seeing the hood mirrors easier

@@oclife.trucking nah. You can get a shorter hood with the paccar but the extended hood is usually for the Cummins. You can tell by looking at where the logo on the side sits

Definitely 579 ultralight is going to give you day and night fuel savings, especially with a paccar transmission and paccar engine

Well, I haven’t done any loads with the NEW truck yet but empty getting about 11.5 MPG. But The 389 empty if it’s not windy outside, I will get 7 to 7.5 mpg.

@@oclife.trucking that’s crazy, I’m between buying a 23 freightliner or a 23 579 I just like how the Pete looks but I haul vans and intermodal so I’m thinking the Pete might not work out too well in some of the city settings

Definitely save your money. Do not buy a Peterbilt 389. You’ll be at the gas station every day…. I do highly recommend Freightliner’s and Peterbilt especially Peterbilt. I like the Paccar engine.

I would definitely consider that Paccar engine: Especially if you’re going to keep this unit long-term .. the economy and reliability it’s just better in a paccar engine.. But the Cummins may have a better resale value
