I think it’s about right in length. You still have that cool long truck look but not to long where it’s not a huge pain to get around in. There are going to be some places were it’s not easy but it still looks good. I think between 290 and 305 is just about right on a wheel base. Maybe 310. Depending on where your going with it

One of the most beautiful and cleanest 379’s I’ve ever seen. So well thought out and not cheesy like so many of the trucks you see nowadays. Also I must say as a kenworth dealer tech being involved in multiple overhauls, that is by far one the cleanest engine bays I’ve ever seen!

I never got a chance to drive a rig with a loud jake. Nor an older rig in general. All these newer trucks are nice inside and build for comfort and ease... but nothing beats a good sounding Peterbilt. My grandma always hated when my grandpa played with the throttle to hear the turbo going down the highway 🤣

Someday I'd like to buy a Pete. I used to drive a quad axle milk truck (Freightliner) up yonder over here in Wisconsin. The jake break is a must especially in the area live in called The Driftless Area. Steep grade hills/bluffs all over, nice scenic view. Then I drove a boom truck semi (Sterling) for a local lumber company. The things I could do with that boom, got damn good at it too. I need to step up to the Bentley of semis' the Pete. That truck is a display of class and elegance what a beautiful rig, great video also.

You get older you'll hate those stoves.cant hear the radio without it cranked up. And yes had 6inch stoves on a large car with a3408 cat putting 1100 on the ground with 5/4 in it and back to back 36inch apartments on back. Black 359 for Flynn motors. Drove a 330 inch c.o.e. also for him with 8 car trailer . Pulled 10 on the 359 at 96 wide . Loved it,just got old and guess what everyone of us has in common.

I miss that 18sp Long Nose, Loud Jake Brake beauty that I had. Logged over a million miles without a single ticket, failed inspection, paper log book & only 2 brake downs. Got lucky & no accidents but seen a life's worth of dead bodies from Crashes. I did hate Flat bed Trucking but hauling Gov or Chemical Plant Loads paid the best, plus O.S. First time seeing a 379 with 389 headlights. Really not much difference in the 2 trucks. The 389 has new headlights and the grill is more rounded. 379 has the classic rectangular headlights and more square grill. Both rigs look fantastic. Sweet one dude I love the color!

@@Grtruckingdemolitionllc Wow. Really man I have never seen a 379 with 389 headlights before. I live in NY. He tried to get a more modern look. His truck he can do whatever he wants. Looks good. a lot would think it’s a 389 by looking straight at the lights. That’s what I did. I then got a bunch of comments saying “your wrong” I corrected a guy on here who said “that’s a cool 379” i looked closer at the grill and was like “I am wrong that’s a 379!” 😆lol a great way to catch a lot of people off (put 389 headlights on a 379)

I've never seen someone put 389 headlights on a 379 either. Usually it's the other way around... People put older style headlights on the 389 to get a classic look. I actually prefer the 379 headlights over the 'new' style headlights. Truck looks good though. A Pete is a Pete regardless of the headlights 😉

Maybe I’ll ask the boss (we are close) if I can get a lot of time off (I work at a towing and recovery company I drive a 75 ton rotator wrecker and the other truck I’d drive is a heavy lowboy truck) maybe some Summer time I’d trip down to other states go to shows meet cool people maybe I’ll see a 379 with 389 headlights, or a 389 with 389 headlights at a show. I have been to a few shows up here in the east side. I have been to Florida for summer trips a lot. I own 2 Kenworths. A classic and a 2007. I drive my 2007 often. It pulls a race trailer/ lowboy mainly. My ‘79 A model will pull the step deck mostly. I have tripped in my trucks. One day maybe I’ll see it.

I'm a fleet semi truck mechanic. This truck is all about nostalgia and the cool factor to the driver. In reality, it sucks to drive compared to todays trucks once you remove the "look at me" factor from it. The driver will probably lose some hearing as he ages driving such rigs. Every decades long trucker in my fleet would never want to go back to a stick. No driver says, I miss driving a stick when I'm stuck in stop & go traffic on the 405.
