I did the exact opposite of you rode a Polaris last year and this year back to a Ski Doo. Polaris is a weapon in the trees ver predictable. Didn’t like the fit and finish of the build, the clutch issues and the case of spark plugs I went through on my Polaris. I haven’t changed a spark plug on a doo since 2012. The stop rides were insane and having a brake lever that sent my sled into limp mode drove me insane. Hopefully Polaris got that all figured out cause I would love to have a 2025 Polaris back in my garage.

I totally agree. My BRP machines over the years have never left me stranded on the mountain and I have never had to change plugs. I think Polaris is moving in the right direction for reliability and I'm crossing my fingers for this season!

I wish I could recall how many recalls my 2023 Polaris matryx 9R had, maybe a dozen? I actually got another text this morning about a "stop ride" My buddies fouled the plugs the first ride out, on the fourth ride out the crank seized

Nice sled! You will be in your happy place on that thing this season. Feel way more at home compared to that Shredder. Pumped for the build and the riding content. I had snowchecked a new Doo Turbo but I completely made the switch and I will be on a Snowbike. Going to be a good season!

Totally agree. Ive only been riding ski doos and Lynx for years. (Norway) And i switched to an 2022 Khaos 155 boost last season. It totally blew my mind how stable it was and i can never go back now. It took me a while to get use too it because i was using to much force in my input. Will probably try 155 pro next year.
@Bryce_Cardinal Жыл бұрын
That's wicked! Exact same for me. I rode a gen 4 ski-doo for a few years and then just fell in love with the Matryx. It felt so natural right off the bat and I quickly progressed as a rider on it. Can't wait to get back on the Matryx saddle!

Love your rider input and honest opinion! I was seriously considering a Lynx because of the way you rode it last season! I love BRP Ski doo's 850. I think the Etec engine is superior to polaris out of the gate. My pro rmk 800 155 with series 6 track will 'almost" outperform a skidoo 850 165 3" track. I have ultimately had to delete T-motion on my 850 skidoo and raise/straighten the spindles to get rid of total washout & rake angle.

Shall I continue? 😂 this was just in the last year. @@SlipperyDucky Oh please. Quit being a typical fucking Doo queen. There wasn’t any fuckin fire risk. The only legit recall is on that stupid P22 clutch. Which is an easy fix. Looking forward to the build and seeing you ride it. Also looking forward to hearing your feedback on that track. I have a 2023 Boost Pro Slash 165. Installed iBexx clutching over the summer and am stoked to ride it. Got my wife a 2024 Pro 850 Slash 165 Snowcheck. Not thrilled with the local dealer anymore, so might try Riverside or Cycleworks next time since I’m just a couple hours outside Edmonton.

I hundred percent agree with you on that lynx i went with the 23 turbo 154. the trenching didnt seem to me quite as much of a problem but i had a buddy on a shredder re with me for a few days, he would more or less seem to trench and get hung up. Overall buddy wasnt super impressed with it, the shocks were amazing though!

He should’ve got the ds not re
@Bryce_Cardinal Жыл бұрын
Getting the DS instead of the RE would have made a huge difference. The extra weight in the skid on the RE was a huge contributor to the trenching. I had heard that the DS wasn't nearly as bad.
@Ride4life311 Жыл бұрын
@@Bryce_Cardinal you are talking about 2.3 lbs difference from the RE to the DS on rear shocks. That is nothing! you pack way more weight than that with snow in your skid. It all comes down to Rider error and the way you set your shocks up.

Nice sled. I agree, Polaris makes a great handling sled, my days to ride in the mountains are limited, and I just have lost confidence in Polaris. I need a sled that I can ride all day and get back to the trailer without issues. Doo is my ride of choice for that reason. Hopefully Polaris comes back to that. Best of luck in your riding season. I'll be watching for feedback.
@208SledHead Жыл бұрын
What about Polaris made you lose confidence in them? My buddies and I have all had wild success here in east Idaho with them - riding 30+ times a year.
@robbklein3908 Жыл бұрын
All the recalls.
@208SledHead Жыл бұрын
I'm not trying to be an asshole here - but I don't understand that response. One recall is for that idiot that stores his sled full of ethanol fuel for 12 years and then goes out to fire it without draining the gas first. Another was because apparently it's possible to impale yourself on some handlebar hooks. 3rd is because people are riding the brake and gas at the same time - do you drive with two feet? 4th - which is really the only actual recall, is that piece of shit P22 clutch. The first 3 I named was a business decision....to cover their ass from potential lawsuits. Has absolutely nothing to do with a defective product. So when people say that Polaris is full of "recalls," it always makes me scratch my head. At least they can announce it and take it on the chin vs. BRP posts some hard-to-find bulletin on their website with backordered parts to cut people's seasons short. @@robbklein3908

Brake recall, fuel pump recall, clutch recall, fuel mapping issues, drive shaft issues. A good friend of mine owns a polaris dealership. At one point there wasn't one product he could sell due to stop rides and recalls. If you've had good luck with Polaris, great. I used to be able to ride 30+ days a year. Not anymore. I've ridden sleds 50 years. Have owned them all. As I said in my first post. I think the new Polaris sleds look and handle great. I rented one for a week. Loved how it handled. I read all the forums and hear about what so many people are dealing with. The great thing about sledding is choice. My choice not to ride a Polaris.
@adammcmahon7135 Жыл бұрын
Yeah these recalls are ridiculous! Still waiting on recall parts while I see all these people getting their new sleds. Seems backwards to me. They should give these new clutches to the people that already purchased their product before they sell these new ones. But that’s business I guess. Just frustrating as hell!

Nice overview of the sled. I ordered the exact same colour scheme but went 155 Khaos instead of a pro. Doesn’t the 2024 also have a new brake cylinder that allows the pads to be further from the new rotor? Does the brake have more travel than the 2022 before engagement? I haven’t picked up my sled yet to see.
