I think it's awesome that this bike exists, because for a lot of people this is going to be the only enduro bike they can afford. This is going to get a lot of people in the game. I'd run it just like it comes, and upgrade the components as they wear out. I'd be replacing that Sunrace cassette after the first 1200 miles anyway, and I'd upgrade the wheel set when the oem one blows up, which for me seems to be a yearly occurrence.

Couldn’t agree more! Great entry level enduro bike with a super solid frame that in my opinion would be worth investing in some nicer parts down the road

I used to ride downhill in the mid 00's and have been out of anything but xc riding for around 10 years and I'm considering the n7 for my entry beater incase I decide it's not for me anymore and I'll just dump it at a discount for the next guy

@@brandonharrsch8318 If you're looking at the N7, you should also check out the Marin Alpine Trail. That's another good enduro bike in this same price range. Both are available through Bikes Online.

Great review! I like how balanced and unbiased you were in reviewing the bike; not too positive and not too negative. Makes me wonder if Polygon would make a carbon version... Edit: Would love to see someone compare this with a Spectral AL 5. It's a bike I'm gonna buy in the near future, more than likely with a higher spec.

When I go to the dunny, I can drop the weight of the bike/rider combo by a half kilogram. If I diet as I should I could take another 2kg off that.

I started mountain biking earlier this year. If I can make channel recommendations for learning good biking skill, I'd like to recommend Roxy's Ride And Inspire, and Dale Stone. Roxy is a certified mountain bike coach (she even coached pros), and Dale has a playlist on his channel that teaches you how to ride steep terrain and pick your lines. With both those channels you should be good

FWIW, that bike is currently on sale on Bikesonline Australia for 2800 Australian Peso's (same spec). That is pretty nuts value. I'd upgrade the brakes too. I'm morally opposed to Tektro brakes....

I’ve had good experience with some, and their higher level stuff TRP is pretty dialed, but these were pretty rough!

I went from a T8 to a Rocky Mountain Altitude Alloy 30 ($3900aud) when the N9 came out beacuse the N9 was a bit more expensive then. I think the N7 is nearly the same spec as the Altitude components wise except the Altitude Shimano brakes are quieter.

I don’t know why people are always bothered by minimal things like cable and chain slap noise those things should be the least of your worries other than that I like this bike but I gotta stick with my canyon spectral

Spectral is a great bike! I personally prefer a quiet bike, but it’s just preference. If it doesn’t bother you all the better!
@topchoice1621 Жыл бұрын
@@99spokes unless it’s something really major to why your bike is making noise then the little minor things I said before don’t effect the performance of the bike and it’s not like someone is going to stop you on the trail and say hey your bike is to noisy lol 😂

Lmao things like that are the most of my concern. If a bike company cant nail simple aspects like those why else should I trust them………..

It should be the least of your concerns especially when your bike weighs more than 40 pounds. That’s ridiculous weight, and heavier than most modern downhill bikes

Well good, glad I could help 😂 this review came at an impeccable time though because my brother has been trying to advocate for a Polygon because of the cost and I’m on the other side like if you’re spending soft tail money, put down a little more and pick up a YT. They can’t be beat for the cost. Don’t know how they do it. Also. Love your reviews and your site. You’re doing gods work, my friend 🫡 comparable to Loam Wolf and GMBN for sure

The linear can on 2023 SDs is pure garbage. I've had hands on no less than 5 different 2023s with linear cans, and every single one has been improved exponentially by fitting the progressive can.
@99spokes Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that! I personally felt like the bike was progressive enough for my needs, and could of course be adjusted a bit with some volume spacers. Were you having reliability issues with the linear can or just preferred a more progressive setup?
