Nothing wrong with the XTR/ XT combo!

I’ve tried SRAM AXS, just couldn’t get used to it. I much prefer the tactile feedback of mechanical drivetrains. And I’ve heard/read transmission sacrifices speed for reliable shifting under load. Sounds like it was designed for e-bikes but is sounds sluggish for normal pedal bikes.
@40917402 күн бұрын
100% agree. Massive weight difference between XT/XTR and this T-Type also.

Arguably an improvement to have that consumable shoulder bushing in the frame dropout. If you rotate the derailleur in an impact, you could replace the shoulder bushing.

I'm so jazzed by this! Just bought an SB115 with the idea I'd never get SRAM T-Type, which wasn't the end of the world. Turns out Yeti already 'invented' the UDH standard without realizing it. I only hope this mod doesn't invalidate the lifetime frame warranty.
@vmxd2 күн бұрын
if you purchased second hand Yeti you are out of warranty anyway. Frame Warranty works only for original buyer. Just FYI.

Hi, Reid here with Biggie Components. The T-type installation with our custom part is 100% reversible. No one would be able to know if you had a T-type system installed or not if you need to warranty your frame.

Nicolai/Geometron has drop out I could get for my 2019 Geomtron G1. But I've not tried it yet. Nicolai/Geometron has replicable drop out, the RD hanger is a part of the drop out, So even with a big hit I think it's one of the most safe bikes to put Transmission on without damaging the frame. But that bike is so robust anyway.
@LoveMTBКүн бұрын
If the axle gets damaged then you worry about the frame. Full mount derailleur sits on the trhu axle and sandwiches the right side of the frame. But structurally it's all on the axle!
@mtbboy1993Күн бұрын
@LoveMTB for some reason I wrote adapter I meant to write drop out. I wouldn't worry then, if something fails it would be the drop out but unlikely. Looks like they made it UDH as it says UDH, so one can use both regular Rd and direct mount. 👌Great move imo.

You have to also measure if there is enough room for inner part of the derailleur. It needs to be 6.5mm. many holders are thinner than that.

@LoveMTB thickness of the t-type inner attachment is 6.5mm. If your current derailleur hanger is thinner than that,( between rear hub and frame) sram derailleur doesn't fit unless you bend your frame.

Conversely, can you now use a cheap, readily available UDH on that SB100 with a NORMAL (not T-Type) derailleur? The only snag would be if the UDH leaves the mech in a bad position and it shifts poorly.
@BiggieComponents2 күн бұрын
You can not. The feature on the Non-UDH yeti frames is the wrong shape to fit a UDH hanger.

What people don't know is there's 2 different UDH standards.. the one with UDH..and later on the "hangerless" UDH standard or "classification". Sure you can do all of this, but aren't the Hangerless UDH standard frame specification related to frame design and it being stronger?
@LoveMTBКүн бұрын
I am sure there's only one UDH standard. As for the frame manufacturers changing the rear triangle design, I am not aware of it.

Love the hacks but a finely tuned GX AXS would suffice for me. I have both and never had a problem with either but to me the premium price for T type is not justified. Granted install is a breeze but so is AXS. I switched to wireless on day one to save my aching thumbs and glad I did .

@@eddierivera7803 I disagree. T-type is WAY better when shifting under load. I had XO AXS Eagle and didn't like it. Went back to XTR. For me it's basically T-Type or Shimano.
