The frontier is the most fully loaded for the price. It’s also a V6 with a well built 9sp transmission. The frontier has the right amount of tech. Yes the back up camera quality isn’t the best but it’s a back up camera not a TV. Who cares, if I am spending 46k on a truck I want my shit to last atleast 250k miles with no major issues. That’s why the frontier is my pick, it’s by far the best bang for your buck and will be more reliable.

Loving my 23 Colorado ZR2! Had a 23 Frontier pro4x paid 46k for it. Found the seat to be very uncomfortable and off road capable without putting money into it limited. When I started at my current dealership I traded it for my ZR2 paid 49k for it. For me and my opinion it’s night and day better than the frontier was. The wife and kid enjoy it so much more. I love what it can do off road without having to modify my daily. I’m the end think it’s great we have options now! I have no need for a full size truck. I’m getting either an xlt or lariat ranger with the fx4 package and the 2.7 ecoboost. Reliable platform as proven in other markets, and a reliable power train as proven here on its bigger brother the F-150. The 2.7 is going to really make it stand out in the segment. Especially since I plan on lifting it with bigger tires, the extra power will help. I can’t wait. Just need to decide on trim. Really hate the wheels on the lariat as asymmetrical wheel design is just dumb, and really don’t understand the turn key of the xlt but it’s really not bad coming from an xl 2008 f150 lol. Even having just the remote start is an upgrade for me

Hello Ben! I hope you are doing well. Glad to see this comparison. Where is the GMC Canyon? It is interesting how these trucks look on the interior compared to how they were in the 1990's and early 2000. What is also interesting these midsize trucks are as big as what full-sized trucks once were. I bet it took some effort to get those trucks together. I like the digital gauges in them as well. I would take the Chevrolet or Ford because you did not include the GMC Canyon. Ford is aiming to be the F150 of this segment.

The truck market has become weird. These "midsize" trucks have all gotten too big. For me, the best truck in this size is (bizarrely enough) a regular cab, 2 door F150 with the 6.5' bed. Configured that way, the F150 actually has a shorter wheelbase than all of these trucks, while being the same length, maybe even an inch or so shorter. It's a hair wider at the mirrors, but the turning circle is still smaller, and you get the 5.0 V8 under the hood, and stronger components everywhere else. More bed space, more payload, more towing, more manoeuvrability, and the same foot print. How important is that back seat, really? Maybe truck owners would be better served by a minivan?

I hate getting ripped off. So no to Toyota. In Canada we can’t get a short box auto unless we add the 11k premium package. Going with the same theme of being ripped off no to the Ford because they still give us a key and non-push start at still a high price. That leaves a Chevrolet Colorado and Nissan.

It's a strange scenario as it gets a lot of positive conversation on youtube and forums, but that doesn't really seem to translate to actual sales. For my personal experience right now I prefer the Colorado, simply because the engine is so strong and the interior is so refined. But you really can't go wrong with any of these units.

I picked the Ford Ranger as well. Though I think it also has a more refined engine and transmission than you did. And while the Colorado has the most HP and torque, it's not the fastest. I saw another video where they dragged raced these trucks, and the Ford was the quickest to 60 mph and the fastest in the quarter mile. I think that is mainly due to rear end gearing. The Ford also gets the best mpg probably due to the 10 speed automatic. I also agree that the Ford has the most comfortable seats. I was originally going to buy a Colorado until I test drove both and found out the Colorado does not have height adjustment for the front passenger seat. It sits too low and makes it feel like you are sitting in a hole as the arm rest are too high. Plus the softer cloth seat material is MUCH nicer in the Ford than the rough material offered in the Colorado. Beyond that, there are only minor trade-offs in features and capabilities between to the two trucks. As for the Nissan, I will never own another one again. The Nissan I had was the worst and most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned. It was in the shop everytime I turned around. So I do not buy into the import quality hype like most sheep do.

@mikegranthe7440 I literally laughed when I read that you didn't like how the Colorado front passenger seat couldn't have the height adjusted. And???? If you are driving, the drivers seat is what matters. The passenger needs to sit there, not mimick the driver. People find the weirdest things to nitpick.
@mikegrantham7440
@mikegrantham7440 2 ай бұрын
@elche1976 - I am married and retired. So my wife and I are planning on doing some traveling in this new truck, and she will be riding in the passenger seat for long periods of time. I am not so inconsiderate as not to take passenger comfort into account for that reason. Plus, another option I preferred with the Ranger is the sandstone colored cloth seats. I do not like all black interiors because one, it's drab looking, and two, when you live in Texas, black materials and dark colors absorb the summer heat like a magnet. Which is why I also prefer cloth to leather. I think those are fairly legitimate reasons to base my decision on.
