The biggest changes to the 2024 - front fascia, greater suspension adjustability (goes much softer in softest setting, previous model only had 60% range of suspension adjustability), steering rack bushijg upgrades, forged wheels. You'd definitely notice the suspension changes on the street, makes it a perfect daily. No excuse not to daily it. Also, for the custom n buttons, it was taking a while to change into them because you had traction fully off rather than esc sport(and you're forced to hold it as a safety warning), but normally it's really easy to change through your different n modes. It's really a great setup with a ton of real time adjustability, and something you'd really enjoy if you owned it

Can't go wrong with either. I own a Veloster N and have driven the Elantra N. IMO the Veloster is a bit more raw in a good way, has the cool blue seatbelts and a usable hatch. While the Elantra is more refined, a bit faster, has a nicer interior, and the cool rear chassis brace. You really cant go wrong with either one. Both are fantastic.

The My Drive Mode is absolutely confusing and took me about 6 months to realize that I was never in the custom mode I thought I was in. Once you realize it via a message board, reading the manual, seeing it mentioned in a KZbin review, it's really easy to understand and switch te hoding the correct button. It also does tell you that you are in Sport mode vs My Drive mode. My issue was I thought Normal mode was equivalent to My Drive mode. Definitely not a deal breaker, but that example of some of the complexities is valid. That said, I'll always take more complex vs locked out of certain settings to make Thomas more comfortable with the number of settings.

One thing to note with the EN is octane learning. On a fresh tank of gas and without completing the proper drive cycle, the EN will build 3-4 pounds less boost than when its learned. Its a noticable difference from the drivers seat. Could possibly account for such a big gap between last years and this years. 18-19 pounds once learned otherwise youre getting 14-15 pounds

Thank you guys for securing my decision to buy one. I currently own an MK7 Golf R, although it felt like a downgrade on the interior quality department, everything else is a plus to me. I did not get a chance to push the Elantra to the limit but this car has great turn ins, great steering feed backs, loads of grip and tons of exhaust notes during a short spirited test drive. Hands down one of the best compact sports sedans on the market in a fun to cost ratio...

So back to my previous statement: $66k for a Nismo Z???? And then you got a $36k Elantra N that’s only 2/10 seconds behind??? What in the world. Huge props to Hyundai to make a car that I really don’t like the body shape of and hated the previous front grill. That doesn’t matter at all if it can EASILY hang with the NISMO Z and outright embarrass the regular Z which STILL costs more than the Elantra N.

@JoshuaTootell4 ай бұрын
Who cares, someone or something is always going to be faster. On the other hand, the manual is just going to be more fun. I don't understand why someone wants a faster economy car knowing any decent sports car will destroy it. Might as well have more fun, give me the third pedal!
@johnnyturbo84604 ай бұрын
@JoshuaTootell The DCT is a blast. The exhaust sounds better when it shifts than with the manual. It's more fuel efficient, which makes more sense for a commuter IMO, faster is more fun, especially when it's more efficient. I have other cars that are manual, so for me the DCT makes more sense. Plus, the DCT gets the NGS over boost button and a sun roof. Here in the US only the DCT comes with the sunroof. Of course there are other faster cars, that's not what my comment was about. Even he said this is his top recommendation. So why not put it up against itself So, to answer you.... I care, that's why I bought it.

Great review, as always. In reference to 2:05: "They know that they're Hyundai." I feel like the more accurate statement would be, "They know how lousy the Hyundai dealership/service experience is." I say this as a former Hyundai owner, and as someone who would probably buy an Elantra N if my current daily driver got totaled: My experience with Hyundai dealerships and service centers was horrendous. That 100,000 mile warranty you get with Hyundai? It isn't worth the paper it's printed on, because getting warranty work done at a Hyundai dealership is about as likely as winning the Powerball. Hyundai has made some of the most attractive and well thought-out driver's cars in recent years (including some of the only electric cars that I'd consider), yet they seem to have no control or oversight over their scumbag-run dealerships. Sport Durst Hyundai, I'm looking at you in particular as the most egregious of the dealerships in a close radius.
@drjk75654 ай бұрын
It seems that's the story for a lot of enthusiasts. Great cars that have been ruined by poor customer service and crummy dealerships. Apparently it's the same story with some Alfa Giulia QV owners and CT4-V Blackwing owners. The worst part is that such things could lead to potential decline in sales, and eventually the bean-counters see it and think the model is a sales failure and pressure the company to discontinue the model altogether. EDIT: Forgot to mention the soul-crushing dealer markups and artificial scarcity to try and sway buyers to pay more upfront and give the illusion of a hot-seller.

I rented one of these with the DCT when my car was in the shop for the week. It's immensely fun as a daily sedan. Is it luxurious? No, the interior bits do feel cheap in many places, the speakers are meh, and it creaked a lot despite being almost brand new. But I didn't care. It's just a ton of fun, performs above its price point, works fine as a daily, and is on par with its competition while costing less than all the others.
