And that's exactly what this bike is!! I love to cruise it and just let the World around me appear like a good place but if I want to go fast and ride a little more sporty I CAN. Overall that thing just leads to me not being able to stop smilling while I'm having a ride. AND IT LOOKS AMAZING TO!

After a few weeks of thinking about it I changed my mind and put a deposit on the blacked-out Int 650 and should be here sometime next month (February) God willing. As far as the Shotgun it is really a strange looking bike, they should have put a Tach instead of the tripper. Thanks for sharing. 😎

Out of curiosity, what was in about the INT650 you didn't like? I currently have an INT650 and I kind of feel the same. I've added grips, motone up and back bar risers and a better RE Touring seat and it's definitely better but still doesn't hit that spot for me that feels perfect. It's kind of a starter bike for me, and I'm not sure what to get next. I really like the Triumph Bobbers looks and feels great to sit on as well but I want to be able to ride for a couple hours without being too uncomfortable. I recently rode my friends Kawasaki Klr650 adv bike and love the overall comfort but don't really like adv looks. It does have me looking at the yamaha tenere 700 though.

I am pushing 68, I rode in my 20’s (Honda Hawk 400 and BMW R65) then got married, had kids, the bikes went away. Divorced, retired and moved to Mexico, second childhood kicked in, and now have a Royal Enfield Himalayan, ideal around town and in the country, but looking for something with more horsepower for the highway. I test road an Interceptor (it was not a good fit for me) and then a Shotgun 650. The SG 650 fit quite well, I was impressed, the suspension is a little stiff for the roads here in Mexico and we have “topes” or speed bumps all over the place that you have to deal with. I am not sure how much adjustment the rear suspension has in it, or what can be done to soften it. That is something I need to look into. I agree with what another guy said, " they should have put a Tach instead of the tripper".

If the rear suspension is on the lowest preload it does pogo, even if you are a light rider. Both the Super Meteor and the Shotgun need 2 clicks of preload on the rear shocks as a base point for any rider. The stock 0 preload setting would only work for skeletons... its an odd choice.

I think my used, often maligned or praised (depending who you are), Suzuki S40 Boulevard was a better buy ($1500) for my first bike than paying over $6K (with dealer fees, etc.) for a new Royal Enfield Meteor several years ago. I do like the old school look of the RE line, however. My dad used to race BSAs back in the day & some RE bikes have that look.
@goldenageofdinosaurs719210 ай бұрын
Yeah, used is pretty much the way to go if you’re just getting into riding. It’s a cheaper outlay, so you can spend money on a good helmet & proper protective equipment plus, if you find out in 4-5 months that riding just isn’t your thing, you haven’t sunk 8-15,000 dollars into the whole deal. If you do enjoy it, you’ll also have some riding time under your belt & should have a better idea of what types of bikes you may like when you do decide to get a new (or newer used) motorcycle. I know it’s hard for many people to delay gratification (I’m one of them, for sure), but getting a cheap, used entry bike would be my recommendation to new riders 99.9% of the time.
@williewasahippie10 ай бұрын
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 100% agree and I did all those those things. I used the extra money I had saved to pay for all my riding gear and also for my MSF course fees. After three months, I bought a New 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 KRT. Since then, I've modded it a bit, including flashing the ECU. :)
