Agree... Maybe when they replace a legend like capri actually make a capri.

Ford got rid of the cars that made them money and then thought let's be a premium brand and sell overpriced appliances 😂😂😂😂😂 the whole point of ford is to be a working man's car maker.... think most of these car manufacturer's have lost their minds..

Being typically short-sighted they got rid of the cars that didn't make them nearly as much money in a good economy for vehicles that few can afford when things get bad.

OEMs are focusing on trying to make profits and thus small car models are being dropped ( they make very little if any profit) and so are the volumes are naturally falling.

Maybe legacy automakers should stop building cars to the lowest price point and build cars with a lifespan greater than their warranty, I for one have simply had enough of the marketing BS of these so called premium brands which are no longer selling a premium product... Western automakers are dinosaurs and I shall not shed a tear when they go bankrupt.

The average lifespan of a car is 12 years that will mean some will last a lot less and some a lot more. 12 years seems OK to me, the problem with making them all last 20, 30 years or more is obvious and 30 year car lives would put our host out of a job.

@@st200ol more like 8.5 years in the UK - many wont even last that long or the cost to repair will be more than the cost of the already overpriced car.

@@chrisd924 That will be salt on the roads in winter, EVs should be more resistant to that issue because most of the floor is a battery. Google life of cars in UK please, when I did that it said 12 years, one site, scrap dealers UK says 16 years in 2021. Please don’t say cars made in 2024 have shorter lives, we won’t know until at least 2024+12 =2036.

@@st200ol You might want to ask a time served mechanic about how durable modern cars engines and plastics are before commenting any further... The whole motor industry is now based upon making consumers renew their leased car after 3 years, they don't give a toss about the buyer... and we as consumers should not give a flying about these legacy dinosaurs who have been ripping us off for years...as for the salt on the roads - we can put a man on the moon but the motor industry still can't put paint on a car which can withstand salt or seagull droppings? Wake up - cars are now just overpriced white goods with planned obsolescence built in to force people to buy new ones every few years. Have a good day.

I’m not a mechanic but I’ve always done my own maintenance, even rebuilt Ford crossflow and CVH engines, that was a bad engine if you didn’t do frequent oil changes, but all engines need regular oil changes. I’ve been driving since 1982 and I can tell you I used to spend a lot more time under a older car than I do newer ones. My 1st car a mark 1 Escort required a new engine and had basically rusted away to nothing at 11 years old. Please don’t tell me older cars are more reliable than modern stuff cos it’s FUD. My 1980 XR3 lasted 20 years but needed a new engine and lots of welding that I did myself, floor, inner wings, chassis etc. perhaps it’s a Ford thing but I’m sure modern cars don’t rust as badly as older stuff engines last longer too if well maintained. Of course there are outliers but the cars I’ve bought new since 2000 have all been going strong when I sold them and some are still out there running around and I expect the same from my current EV with its 10 year warranty on a lot of the parts. Modern cars are bad is FUD please stop spreading the FUD. Have a good day yourself. 😁

BCG - Emphasizing Asian manufacturer percentage gains for Asian manufactures is misleading, even though you do mention unit counts as an afterthought - In base raw numbers, their volume is still very small - Also, you do not break out business vs. consumer percentage shares of sales, which will show that consumer unit sales are very small indeed.

Did you know that Tesla stock is skyrocketing and that Tesla sales are up 10% World Wide
@RyoshiKuraOka26 күн бұрын
Incorrect. 3rd qtr YOY unit sales are up 6.4%. However, YTD unit sales are down 2.3%, YTD revenue is down 5.3%, and YTD profit is down 30%. Stock price shot up Thusday and Friday (about 24%) do to Elon Musk's "suggestion" that unit sales might grow by as much as 20% next year. He made a similar prediction about 2024, and well, here we are. The current stock price is the fourth such spike into the $260's in the last 12 months. Time will tell if this time it is sustainable, though history is not in it's side.

Tesla sub standard, I don’t agree with that, the comments about Elon, 100% agree, I’d never buy anything that guy is associated with.
