I will back up the Subaru Cross trek so far as being one the best seller cars at Subaru dealerships and with mine being the wilderness a great affordable option. Yes there are a few miniscule things that Subaru could have made better but more expenses that are not necessary and add-on that I could purchase down the road.

It was nice that you shared a little personal time on here. Gives your videos much more personality than just about the car; its about the people living with the car too. My only gripe is on the power and efficiency of this rig. We all know there can be a hybrid, a more powerful engine. Feels like they are still a generation or maybe 2 still behind the rest of the on-road cars.

Thank you for a great review Tom!! I certainly enjoy your channel :), I do own a 2015 Crosstrek Premium model, and I wish I could get the new Wilderness edition :( , but right now I can not justify the much higher price of it, and one issue that is very frustrating and and that I contacted the Subaru company about is, why would a FRONT CAMERA not be included in the Wilderness, it is in the Forester and Outback, would it be that much more money to install? Oh well, the Subaru Rep I spoke to could not give me any reasons why, but you would expect all the "Wilderness" level models to include it, it is a safety issue, how are you supposed to "see" ahead on a risky trail. Do you know how much it would cost to install an aftermarket camera system? if that's even possible. Thank you again! MC
@DrivenCarReviews Жыл бұрын
I'm sure there's a local outfit that could hook you up with some sort of front facing camera, but I have no idea what it would cost or who would do it. Check with an off-road, specialty outfitter or shops that do car stereos. Anyone else have an idea?

Just got my alpine green CTW and also notice road noise on smooth roads from 55mph that progresses in volume at highway speeds (80mph tested) Its on the higher musical note side of things. Would you agree with this assessment? Id hate to think it would be anything other than tires being a brand new car.
@DrivenCarReviews2 ай бұрын
Tires would be the logical place to start. I didn't spend an awful lot of time at 80 since traffic was always in my way (and pavement can make a difference). A good resource is tirerack.com or discounttire.com, use the configurators to find out the qualities of different tires, start with the ones on the Wilderness. Tires can make a huge difference. I'll have a story in the next week or two on that.

As someone who has driven a recent Crosstrek extensively, I absolutely hate how slow this car is and how much road noise seeps into the cabin. The four cylinder engine struggles during acceleration, especially up long hills. Not really sure if the entire segment is this bad, but the off roading/AWD functionality and fuel economy are really the only two positives about this car.
