Great review. Loved it. Can’t wait for more. I have the 8S. Thinking of trading when the 8R gets here. The quick shifter; first it does soften with a couple or three thousand kms and secondly you have missed the point. The bike is designed to be ridden at 3-7000 rpm and is exciting in that range. As you said you ride in a higher gear, shift at 7000 even in a hurry. That means you change down at lower revs too. Change down at 3-5,000 rpm and it is smooth and easy, after 2-3000 km of riding. You can even change down with some power on. And if you are holding revs dead constant, always use the clutch up and down. Suzuki missed that memo.

I rode that bike back to back with the 8S. The 8S is snappier as the S750 makes its torque higher u the rev range. On the S750 you have to wait or change down. Although Suzuki is known to run forever and Aprilia not so much. Maybe tailoring the 8R to the individual rider's needs with an aftermarket flash is the way to go.

Good for you. I pulled the trigger on the 8R in Suzuki Blue. Just beautiful!!! Will be my last bike as well I'm sure. Nothing else is needed. Ride safe and enjoy!

I’d love to see you get a exhaust and tune on it😊

Yammie, why do you ride on the right tire track in the right lane usually?

I honestly love this bike and suzuki but I feel suzuki missed the mark by sticking a twin in this…I’ve been looking for a possible alternative to the MT09/Z900 because I would like a windscreen but this thing is really underpowered…hopefully they make a bigger version with the GSXR750 engine or something 😭

The Xsr900 GP might be worth considering, it's basically an mt09 with fairings and clipons

You need some time to know how to properly use the QS especially to shift down.. Read the manual.. There is specific speed & rpm to down shift smoothly.
@Der_Kero7 ай бұрын
the quichshift down works ok, if you ad just a little bit of throttle. not to say thats good. but that way it works
@stevesane8008 ай бұрын
Dude, is your QS mode even on? Quick shifting down is perfect all the way down into 1st. Quick shifting up without load is snatchy front 1st to 2nd, after that, it’s perfect. Was QS displayed on the dash? If it’s new, more than likely, it’s not on.

Thanks for such an informative video. Making my decision on buying one this week. Moving from DR 650.

I just bought one of these, and felt that your video was great. I heard you say that you ordered an exhaust for the bike. What did you order? I want to get one as well, but don't want to have to tune it after. Also, any suggestions on seats? The stock seat is not very comfortable and hits some of the pressure points, but I want to be able to ride this thing for more than a half hour without pain

Looks like a nifty platform, but for the price, I’d have expected at least partially adjustable suspension, and a bit more HP. That being said however, I’m sure it will put a grin on more than a few faces.

Nice review. I bought one! If you, in the general sense, can get past your ego, it's all the road bike you need. It's a great all round package but I wouldn't personally be looking to go to the track on it any time soon. However, I don't intend to so not an issue for me personally. Only complaint as you say so far is rhe QS is a bit rough on downshift's but based on the other owners comments, it does loosen up & get better with use over time supposedly.

Why can't Suzuki just give us a new 600?
