@alainmathias68838 ай бұрын
@@morten_hannesbo average consumption is around 14kWh, but as the temperatures went up the last days, the consumption was even lower. Range is about 500km, without trying to save energy in any way ;-)

I have heard a number of comments about the turn signals in roundabouts, a headache, perhaps adding the S3XY buttons on the backside of the steering wheel might be an option, I had seen that in a model S Plaid. There are other functions that the S3XY buttons can do of course, but for me keeping the turn stalk would have been a reasonable compromise.

@tsmarkov8 ай бұрын
I doubt Tesla would return them and this might be a dealbraker for lots of people. The good news are that from what I know the creators of the S3XY buttons Enhauto are currently developing real aftermarket indicator stocks for all the Teslas that miss it.

The minimalistic approach is justified for containing the costs and being competitive in the market vs a more traditional approach. This is also the case for all others missing devices I.e. head up display, parking sensors, turning indicators and entrance key and so on. For younger generation it might be appealing because different paradigm but ultimately we get less for putting more money on the battery cost !
@morten_hannesbo8 ай бұрын
In the end consumers will decide. Tesla targets volumes in excess of 10 million units per annum and then they are in the mainstream volume segment where most customers will expect user friendly cars or buy something else. The missing stalks are a safety risk in countries with many roundabouts and the lack of heads up display or poor interface with the window wipers cause unnecessary distractions. Euro NCAP will focus on this for future safety ratings and mark down cars with poor user interfaces.

It is indeed an amazing car and a big improvement compared to the old model 3. But removing the indicator stalk was a big mistake! As you mentioned, experienced drivers rely on the muscle memory and it is not easy for them to get used to these buttons on steering wheels. New drivers can get used to it quickly, but it will be less convenient than the old style stalks. Tesla has to put it back. Technology should make things better and easier not worse!
@chrism84818 ай бұрын
I was wondering what it would be like for me to drive without the stalks. After a few days of driving my 2024 Tesla Model 3 when I next drove my wife’s car it felt like reaching for the stalks was so antiquated. Pretty funny! We adapt so quickly and I’ve been driving with stalks for many, many decades :). I now prefer no stalks. Now if I lived in a place with a lot of roundabouts….gimme back my stalks!
@Frenchy781808 ай бұрын
I agree, once you try it, it is kinda hard to go back to a car with stalks. feels like old technology
@tafl-91988 ай бұрын
@@Frenchy78180I think you guys want it to be “old” technology 😅 It is quite expensive electro-mechanical luxury technology, which is why Tesla removed it.

make it an option, like with the yoke, so people can choose between having and not having stalks on their steering wheel
