Well here's the opinion of a 74 year old who weighs 230 and has been this weight Forever!! Congrats!! Here's the thing.... It's new and it's available and why the hell not!! If someone comes at you for it...tell them to f*ck the he'll off! You do what you do, they don't get it! I'm most impressed with how you KNOW, by researching and having a close relationship with your doctor, that you are doing what's right for you!! You are making the adjustments as needed and making good decisions. You have educated yourself and yours or is the most positive and informed post I've seen!! Congrats on sharing your experience and in doing so, informing others so they see that it can be a way to take care themselves, but know that "knowledge is power" and they need to be smart. I am really proud of you! Much Love.

I was put on Ozempic a few months ago after being diagnosed with diabetes. It felt like a miracle when the food noise stopped and again when I realized I got full after a "normal" amount of food intake! I literally cried at my first check up after finding out I had lost 8lbs without the relentless and deflating struggle to eat like a "normal person. Getting where I need to be has been like an uphill battle on a mud slide with every hard fought win ending in utter defeat. For the first time in decades for me, attaining a healthy weight feels like an attainable goal. Congratulations Sarah. 🎉 Enjoy your new normal! ❤

To those who say we will gain it back…ok…I had a trainer and followed a dietitian in 2019, lost a ton of weight, and gained it back. Nothing new. More evidence that obesity and overweight are lifelong medical struggles deserving of lifelong support like any other chronic condition.

First of all, everything about this video slays, and congratulations to you! Second, seeing your very first video about the medicine gave me the final push I needed to talk to my doctor, and I have gone from 235 to 157 from about the beginning of March until today. I still plan to work on putting on muscle and losing more fat, so I probably want to lose about 10 more pounds before I go to maintenance mode, but I’m trying to slow it down so I can put the muscle on. I can’t wait for the next update about maintenance mode and how that transition goes for you, because that’s the next big question for me.

Congratulations!!! What I find interesting is that I never thought of you as being overweight. You really wore your weight well! Beginning Jan 1 I began eating high protein and low carb for general health, not for weight loss, and have lost forty pounds easily and without hunger-why had I never tried that before?? And it seems to be easy to maintain-haven’t gained any back in last couple of months. I had resigned myself to being overweight forever and then when I wasn’t trying I found the perfect solution! Crazy!

Your approach to your weight loss journey is so refreshing. Good for you! I'm 30 years older than you and easily 75 lbs overweight. Other medical issues have not allowed me to go this route yet. My family history of diabetes on both sides is like Russian roulette. It's not if, but when. My eldest sibling has had it since age 2. I'm hopeful that I will get help as my joints can't take much more. Sugar, in my opinion, is the worst drug/addiction ever.

Super proud and happy for you, Sarah! I’m down 80 lbs since Dec 2023… still have about 40 to go to get to a comfy spot. Zepbound is saving my life…. Period. Call it cheating or whatever you want but I have struggled with my weight since grade school and felt the heartbreak of name calling and the constant torture of never feeling like I was attractive or fit in with others. I am 51 years old now and I am starting to feel like I’m ok in my own skin…(no matter how saggy at the moment). People love to think they have all the “healthy eating” and exercise programs figured out for EVERYONE, but as much as they think we’re all cut from the same cookie cutter, we just aren’t. We all have to make the journey that works for us. And I am so thankful that I finally found a way to journey to a healthier weight, a weight I haven’t seen since early high school. And I am so thankful that I can finally see a journey beyond this point. ❤

I will be very interested in how your maintenance journey goes - I am already thinking about that even tho ideally there is about 75lbs more to go. Hopefully it will not take too too long. Congratulations on your hard work and perseverance!! I lost 100 lb on my own 10 years ago, and have slowly put 60 of it back on. I know how to lose weight. I did it myself but now after going through menopause my body does not metabolize food the same. I've been struggling for 5 years trying to lose this excess weight because I have osteoporosis and degenerative disc disease in my back. The sad thing is Medicare will not pay for me to go on any weight loss medications, and being on a fixed income most of us cannot afford it. You can get the same meds in Europe for $49 a month which is proof that we can get them at a reasonable cost. I hope you continue your journey successfully, keep up the good work!!

Yay! I’ve used mounjaro 5 mg and I’ve lost 60 since June. I’m a type 2 diabetic so I’ll be staying on a low dose. I’ve never increased higher than 5 mg. I’ve got a strong bowel program as well. My rheumatologist doesn’t want me to lose more weight. He said I’ve lost the fat and he doesn’t want me to lose muscle. I’ll be seeing my doctor next week to see what we need to do I’ll always need something because I’m a diabetic. Like you, I try to choose protein and veggies when I’m hungry. I drink a lot of water. I can’t drink as much as I used to, but I’ll drink as much as I can. Like you said, over eating is a no no. It’ll make you miserable. I used to eat a large Penn Station sub, small fry and a drink. Almost immediately I was full on a small sub. After the second month I could no longer eat the fry. I can rarely finish a drink with my meal. I take several medications for multiple autoimmune issues. If I take my meds in the morning, I won’t have room for food until the afternoon. I think Tirzepatide is awesome. However, I’ve found people where the Tirzepatide makes them feel terrible, but they’re ok on the ozempic, and Vice versa. I’d encourage anyone who can’t tolerate one to try the other. My A1C is under 5, it was closer to 8, and my blood sugars are great. It really is wonderful and I feel much better. I’m walking 3 times a day and was able to get a poodle. We need the government to make this available to everybody and for insurance to cover it!!!

Congratulations, Sarah!!! That is an incredible achievement!!! 🎉🎉🎉 This past year I took a weight loss journey that I hadn't anticipated also! Mine was mainly due to the illness that began nearly a year ago. I probably lost thirty to thirty-five pounds during the months of my hospitalization, then another fifteen to twenty since I came back home at the end of March. Due to the damage to my pancreas, I'm not producing enough pancreatic enzymes to properly digest food or enough insulin to fully regulate blood sugar. I have to take pancreatic enzyme pills and eat completely differently, due to borderline diabetes. I've nearly cut out sugar, including the 1 1/2 to 2 cans of Pepsi I used to have every day. 😥 I'm eating A LOT healthier, with a lot more fruit and veg, and I'm also exercising. I DO NOT want to put that weight on again!!! I would never recommend near death as a weight loss strategy, but at least it was something good that came of it!!! 😁 Continued love and health!!! 💜💜💜

Congratulations Sarah!! You are beautiful inside and out, never underestimate complements that do not pertain to physical appearance because they really are the most important, I got chubby just before a growth spirt when I was like 11 years old and my narcissistic mom made fun of me and called me fat, then at 12, I grew a foot in height, I am just shy of 5"10, I was tall and thin for my age, then she started calling me the Jolly Green Giant, looking back at pictures of my childhood and teens I was very pretty and not fat but always carried that self image with me, I actually struggled with anorexia for a while into my mid to late 20's, now I'm 60, my husband is 41 and we have been together for 21 years, he has always called me beautiful and sexy, no matter my weight, my mom used to always pull out old photos of me and my sisters and show them to every boyfriend I introduced to her, one of my sisters is her favorite, she would always show her pictures and say this is my most beautiful daughter, my husband said to her, NO, that I was her most beautiful daughter, I knew at that moment he was my soul mate. Health is very important, maintaining a good weight is part of that but I want every woman to know they are beautiful and deserve to be loved no matter what.

Less than a year! Amazing!Congratulations! I lost 70lb on Jenny Craig in 1990. I was a yo-yo dieter. I wish they had these medications at that time. I never got back to what I was though within 30 lbs of 190 but at 80 years old now my weight is less than it ever was because of bad eating habits. My distaste for foods with various textures has increased so it is easier to eat more carbs and junk food. I actually became malnourished as my blood counts and protein levels were low. The last 2 years I have developed some health issues which makes it hard to exercise and is what Jenny Craig always emphasized and I believe no matter what I gained it helped keep my weight below the original amount of 190 lbs. I used to walk, do TV aerobics, and use the elliptical machines. I use the Fairlife protein shakes like you do and it has helped with the protein and blood counts. Keep up the good work! Maintenance is another mindset I know. Psychologically it is a learning curve but a good one!😊😊❤❤

Just wanted to say that I started on the same exact meds as Sarah 12 weeks ago. I’ve had zero side effects and strongly encourage anyone who’s been thinking about trying this medication to please talk with your doctor. While I’m just beginning this journey I do have over 40 years of experience dieting. The difference this time around, the only way to explain it is going from white knuckling it, 😮to I don’t even have to think about food. Even during this holiday season, baked cookies that I didn’t touch, ate normal portions and was FULL. I’ve read that many go off these meds because the joy of food is gone. While I’m so very grateful that food no longer matters to me. I eat a healthy diet to fuel my body but otherwise I’ve zero interest in food. After a lifetime of being hungry and unhappy with my relationship with food, it’s such a relief to literally not care.

I don’t have to talk my self into going down the long driveway to get the mail. It’s nothing now. I’m physically and mentally healthier . My blood pressure is way down My feet don’t hurt .my shoulders don’t hurt holding up those huge gross fat breasts. Buying clothes now is so fun. I love finding the perfect outfit. I have lost 27kg/59.5 pounds since may of -23. Through walking and counting calories, I was too afraid to test this new medications for weightloss. But Congratulations 🎉 to a l l of us!

Congrats Sarah!! I suggest going down to 140 so you can maintain a weight RANGE. I lost 75 down to 125 (5’3”). I wish I went to 120 because I panic and beat myself up when I go up and try to over correct. Plus my clothes are tight at 130. I can’t buy new clothes one size up. Anyway, YMMV! Way to go. It is hard at holidays! (Candy for sure! lol😂)

Congratulations! You have been so dedicated to the lifestyle changes, I’m so happy you were able to see the results you were looking for through your hard work! ❤ If you don’t mind my asking, I was wondering if you still use/follow Weight Watchers as you had mentioned in one of your first videos this year about starting your journey. Or is there a better “plan” you follow that helps you to prioritize the protein and hydration? Also, you mentioned your healthy weight range for your height… I was wondering if you’d mind sharing how tall you are? I know you mentioned your husband is tall, but I can’t recall if you have said your height in the past. My apologies if you’ve mentioned and I missed it, or if I am asking something that you’d rather not say. ❤ Thank you for sharing your journey with us this year! I have been cheering you on each update, and I’m so happy you’ve had the success you’ve worked so hard to earn! 👏🏼

Yay! I’ve used mounjaro 5 mg and I’ve lost 60 since June. I’m a type 2 diabetic so I’ll be staying on a low dose. I’ve never increased higher than 5 mg.
