“Rights” are irrelevant. People aren’t just commenting randomly. She invited people along on the journey from the beginning. She shared that she was using mounjaro etc. naturally people have questions. She doesn’t have to answer them, but obviously she was open to the fact that people were going to have questions, or she wouldn’t have bothered shared the info. I am glad you are speaking openly about your weight loss surgery. My sister lost a lot of weight and she did the same "mommy makeover" you are doing. She was quite sore for a few weeks. She had to cancel going to a NFL game with me due to all the walking, so make sure you don't overdue it. Pace yourself! In the end, she said it was worth getting the lose skin removed. Just not for a month right after I am on Zepbound and lost 20+ pounds with about another 30 to go. I don't regret it at all.

It’s so important for your health though and that’s what matters. 2024 was crazy for me. I started the year taking wegovy and I was nauseated a lot but I did lose weight slowly. Then I was diagnosed with cancer. Going through radiation I could barely eat and I lost weight really quickly. Through chemo I was able to eat more and now at the beginning of this year there’s been no cancer detected-yay! But my appetite has come back, along with bad eating habits and I’m gaining again. I have 6 more doses of wegovy I guess I will take but insurance doesn’t cover it anymore so after that idk. I’d love to get to a point where I’m just maintaining like you!

Hurray . My A1C went from 6.6 to 4.9! I am having severe hair loss and big red itchy welts where I give my injections. Some red marks are still there after 1 month. I never had these welts before. It’s almost like I am developing an allergic reaction to Mounjaro. Unfortunately I’m going to have to stop Mounjaro. I still have maybe 10 pounds to go. I’m super nervous about stopping but I have to have faith that I can do this on my own. Again I am so proud of you ❤

I'm getting close to 50 lbs down using tirzepatide since July. I have not seen my weight start with a "1" since I was a literal teenager. I still have a long way to go but for the first time in my life, I have seen the scale move in the right direction. I didn't have an unhealthy relationship with food or even eat tons but my body has messed up hormones that refused to let any of those calories go anywhere but my gut. Congratulations on your success and so happy to see you take action to prevent issues that we are likely to experience at a size so much bigger than we should be. Good luck on the surgery! I hope to be able to tuck things up at some point too.

Hi Sarah, you do not have to read or listen to my input but I am a Sister Wives follower and I like you. I spent most of my life with weight issues and discovered eating plant based allowed me to lose 155 pds and have more energy than I ever had in my younger years working and raising my 3 children. I didn’t use weight loss drugs or surgery but if I could have I definitely would have. Just wanted to say that exercising daily (which I now have the energy to do) solved any need for cosmetic surgery. Perhaps if I was younger I might have made a different decision. I am so high on life since getting off of multiple medications that a little hanging skin on my upper arms doesn’t bother me. I think because you are young enough to have good elasticity you probably don’t need surgery. But honestly, you be you and do what makes you happy. Thanks for listening.🤗

I’m really proud of you, Sarah! I started on my weight loss journey Oct 30 2023. I was not a candidate for GLP1’s as I had a fluke case of pancreatitis after having my gallbladder removed. So I opted for weight loss surgery. More specifically gastric sleeve on March 21 2024. I have lost 116 lbs total. I have like 10 lbs to my surgeon’s goal. But personally I am fine where I am at now. It’s not easy. And people often say I took the easy way out by having surgery. That couldn’t be further from the truth!

Everything you said is spot on. The medical breakthrough of this life-saving drug has been amazing. Considering that there may come a time when these drugs will be available to everyone who needs them, it can mean that no one would have to suffer with obesity. You should be so proud of yourself, Sarah. This comment is coming from a 73 year-old grandmother who has struggled with weight issues. I have not used a GLP1 medication, but I absolutely would if it was necessary. You have shown great strength in doing this publicly. And it’s not too late to begin strength training!! Remember that some of the negativity comes from petty jealousy. Hold your head up and be happy and proud of what you’ve accomplished! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I can speak on the surgeries you are having, not from personal experience but rather professional. I have been a surgical technologist and first assist in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery for over 17yrs. The procedures you are having done are quite common and generally safe (of course you know there’s always risks) I could write paragraphs about your surgery but I think what I would prepare you for the most is the most discomfort you will feel is going to be from the liposuction (how they harvest fat for grafting). Where they harvest from (usually abdomen, thighs or flanks) will make the surrounding muscles very sore as well as from swelling. Which brings me to my next point. They will give you either an abdominal binder or girdle (surgeon preference) and I cannot stress enough to wear it as instructed. It will feel uncomfortable but is key to reducing swelling, which is a considerable source of discomfort. Feel free to reach out if you have other question about anything i said. I am not a doctor so there is plenty that I wouldn’t speak to or would defer that back to your doctor but I would answer what I can Hope all goes well, and while I think you’re beautiful now, I am excited for you to have the outcome you are wanting

My sister had a tummy tuck... apron removal after weight loss. She said it wasn't harder than her emergency c section... and it was quite bearable with the correct pain killers. Her planned second c section was pretty pain free. Good luck and I hope yours is as positive an experience as hers. She had lower abdomen not upper and lower. Nothing else though. It was after weight loss but also to just help re position the muscles after two big babies and remove the stretched out skin. She says it really is positive.. helps her exercise without discomfort and her confidence so I hope it is the same for you!

So I needed the fat positivity and body positivity movements so I could stop hating my body. I was trying to lose weight and I just couldn't. I'd hit insulin resistance and no matter how much I exercised and watched my eating habits, I stayed the same. I have diabetes and changing my diet and how I exercised was for that and my A1C got better but the weight didn't. The doc wanted to try Jardiance so I got on that and the weight fell off. I've lost about 50 lbs and I'm at a good weight for me. I'm still overweight and I'm never going to be super thiin, but I feel good and look good at around 170-ish lbs. I've maintained this for almost 2 years now so I'm pleased. The fat and body positivity movements gave me the ability to do movement for the sake of movement and eat more vegetables for the sake of eating more vegetables and doing that before the meds meant that I was in a great place for the weight to fall off with less effort once I started the Jardiance. So I'm grateful for those movements and hope people continue loving themselves enough to take care of themselves even if that means taking meds.

*************** I can't tell you how much I appreciate your vids on this subject and what you are doing for maintenance. I started Mounjaro which is the Canadian equivalent to Zepbound. I am 67 and the elasticity of my skin is significantly less than it was in my 20's & 30's. I swore last time it would be my final diet. I kept the weight off for 10yrs until I developed a chronic illness and the medication was not only ineffective it assisted in 100+ lbs in less than 6mths. I had given up. I was already eating pretty clean with no added stuff like condiments sweets & starches and that didn't change but I was pretty much immobile. Took me about 18mths of listening to stories, pro's and con's as well as some research before I bit the bullet lol Also it's not covered by ins here unless you are diabetic so it's an out of pocket expense - so worth it!! Because my mobility is limited the weight is slower to come off. I've been on since the end of Aug and have only lost 30lbs - but at least they are coming off!! Thank you very much for these videos - I so appreciate listening to your experience with the process. I will only do surgery if the excess skin becomes problematic.

@melissacoviello28862 күн бұрын
I do think this is all so much more nuanced than just weight loss or body positivity. I do think people are out of line for shaming people for using ozempic (or similar meds) to lose weight or saying they’re getting “ozempic face”. I also personally think plastic surgery after a significant amount of weight loss is probably the healthiest option, because likely it’ll help a person’s relationship with their body and also there is no other way to get rid of the lose skin. Personally my biggest issues with weight loss medication is the side effects, the lack of supply and the scarcity for those who are diabetic who need for weight loss and to control their sugar. I am biased as that’s why my husband needs it. I am also so concerned about the side effects that some have. I think it’s a valid medical need for some people to lose weight and it’s not just vanity, but also enjoying your new look doesn’t mean you weren’t body positive before. I think it’s a very complicated conversation overall. I’m glad you’ve reached your goal, I hope you’re able to find a way to not need the medication long term, while still being able to maintain your healthier lifestyle.

Before starting it I was working out 2-3 times a week for 2 years and lost 25 lbs which was great but couldn't get down past 190 and was still obese (by bmi metrics). This was pandemic times so this helped me along the way with another 25 I am still considered overweight but I like my size now but I wish I had done more strength training as well, nice thing about that is its never to late to start on that side of it 😊

I was watching The top internist who's done considerable research on the medications and she is a huge proponent of people taking a small dose She found in her research that it has a rebound effect on her microchondria is much happier She had very severe case of psoriasis and through taking the baby dose of the injectables It cleared up her psoriasis for aching joints and a bunch of other issues that she was having So I'm looking at doing that cuz I am type 2 and I am on the path of metabolic syndrome. You look phenomenal and do not let other people project their body dysmorphia onto you there's a lot of women out there doing that. It's sad how many of them are in their 50 60s and their mothers did it to them and they're turning around doing it to others. 😢

I lost a tremendous amount of weight several years ago in an unhealthy way. Until that time, I was invisible. After the weight loss, I struggled with the attention I received. My weight has been stable for the most part since then. Unfortunately, my upper arms look really creepy. I refer to them as my chicken wings. I’ll have to follow your lead and do some strength training. Best of luck with the next phase. You have so much to be proud of!

You look fantastic! All that matters is that your doctor says you’re healthy and you feel good.

Sarah you go girl!! I had a mmo 5 years ago and it was the best decision I ever did! My #1 recommendation would be is to get a female urinal from Amazon. It’s easier to pee through your faja for the first few weeks!

Congratulations on your achievement. Even with medication, I'm sure it was a struggle. Be proud of yourself and ignore the negativity. I don't understand why people feel it necessary to offer negative opinions. Be happy for other's successes.

It’s cool that you’re being transparent about your journey instead of acting like you lost weight from going vegan or doing Pilates….

Sarah keep doing what makes you healthy. I remember when you started and posted a video you seemed like you were desperate to lose the weight. People will have something to say about anything I am sure you got lots of hateful comments when you were at a heavier weight. I hope to do a mommy makeover one day too. Love you!

Good for you, I think the way you look now is good for you. As long as you are doing this for the right reasons then F everyone else's opinions.

My daughter had negative issues with ozempic. I can’t recall what but she knew to stop taking it. But others take it and no issue. Glad you didn’t go that route due to it’s not fool proof to not do harm. Even had you used it, it’s still your choice to make without judgement.

Everyone out here shooting themselves up to lose Weight and I recently had a terrible health condition that made me drop a LOT of weight, and it’s not over. I’m like struggling to KEEP weight on at the moment. But since the shots are so popular, randos keep asking me if I take that shot. I’m like UGH no, I’m chronically ill. 😂 You look great Sarah! ❤ Also I have the loose skin and flabby arm thing too. I’ve never been a thin girlie anyhow so this whole thing for me is wild AF, wearing size 4 jeans and I’m like what is even happening 😂 So naturally the flab arm thing is bugging me as well as my belly (oh god😂) so I’m curious to know how your surgery goes.

Kail Lowery from Teen mom just had these surgeries and she documented some of it. Or at the least talked about why she's doing it and after thoughts.

I’m 61. I’ve been thin my entire life. Women have never held back on comments about my weight. “Are you anorexic?” “Bulimic?” “Sick?” “You need a sandwich.” “Being thin makes you look older.” Etc, etc. There’s a definite double standard. I wish you the best on your health quest.

You look so small. Please don’t loose any more i hope you met your goal. I was worried about you last week when watching your show. I wrote this while commercials are running.

My suggestion to anyone going into surgery is to get a copy of the book to prepare for surgery heal faster. It was given to me 30 years ago when I underwent my first endometriosis surgery I’ve had many surgeries cents and this book is wonderful to talk about preparing your heart body mind for the trip you’re about to take.

I had 2 kids, 2C sections, breastfed pumped gained tons of weight. Got divorced lost tons of weight. I had the Mommy makeover worth every penny. If you don't have a recliner, get one. You want sports bras that snap in the front and Velcro girdles are the easiest.
