I react to what Jchans answers, hints and give my thoughts on what the TLP ruleset has in store.. spoilers its EXACTLY what we thought it was.

Maybe I’m in the minority for my needs but figured I’d share. I like TLP and the mischief model. But I’d like to see us stay in each expansion longer. Everyone wants to rush for new content after they’ve downed raid mobs but I like going deeper in expansions. I want a month to learn all my trade skills. I want a month to help out guild mates once I’m max level. I want a month to do raid encounters, etc. This is what recently attracted me to quarm. Longer in each expansion allowed me to really take in all parts of the game. They leave each expansion for 9 months which I think may be a little too long. Maybe 6 months? I know lots of folks will hate this idea but for a casual player it takes me about 8 weeks just to hit max level. I want to explore more before the open up the next one.

Phinny , Mangler had 3 month unlocks iirc, that meant 6 months of PoP, 3 months in kunark.. which felt so so long as there just not alot of content in kunark and time for 6 months is rough. plus what you have to consider is the time to get to live, because they do (with 1 exception) have to get there... eventually.

@@TBCNexus yeah 6 months is quite a while I guess. When I did kunark on yelinak it took me like 8 weeks to hit 60 which means I didn’t even get to raid much before they were throwing velious at me. Didn’t have time to help friends, so epic mob kills, etc. was hoping I would have a couple months to relax in an expansion before the unleashed another slog of zones and quests.

​@@bhofmeister Couldn't agree more here. Quarm is so much better, such a nice atmosphere as well, compared to more or less any live/TLP server ever. Not that it's perfect, of course, as people will always be people, but way better than live for sure, and a very nice community as well. Can warmly recommend trying it out, especially now with the camera fix, that's even better than anything I've tried before. Such a nice addition for Project Quarm.

As someone who played EQ casually back when it launched but never got high enough level to do much, I second the pace. Heck, I’d love a TLP that mirrors the original release schedule and expansion length.

The biggest issue I`m having as a casual player is the player AA lines, I can`t get caught up and next expansions drops.

I enjoyed Mischief while I played it. The TLP that cemented my love for the Solo Druid.

Mischief is a given. The second one could be Mangler, Agnaar( i doubt this one),Rizlona, or Selos. I would think Selos, but Mangler was more popular between the two.

Very curious if they are going to try and implement the server transfer 4 Legacy characters. If I could have a level 50 I already earned that would help get me hooked

Couldn't agree more about enjoying the random loot but disliking the amount of loot. I played on Mischief, but I was really casual, didn't do any raiding, and I quit partway through Kunark. It just wasn't really grabbing and keeping me. I've been saying for the past year or so that Oakwynd would be my final TLP, and if they want to do a Mischief 2.0 for the 2025 TLP (well, one of them), that just increases the likelihood that I'm gonna be done with EQ indefinitely once I'm done on Oakwynd.

I agree, I wish I had never quit Mischief after PoP - Oakwynd was meh although I love FTE I was able to farm so much stuff I made a lot of krono as a casual player!

Thanks for the video, TBC. With TLP's my issue has always been that since the time for each expansion is limited...I think the lockout timers should be reduced by a lot as it would allow for more people to get the loot from that expansion before the next expansion releases. They did finally on the last go around fix the account lockouts and made them per character, that was a great change....but still not good enough. Other than that I would personally like the ability to have a 2 accounts per computer cap, rather than having to have separate computers. I guess we will find out soon.....keep up the great work!

I kinda missed out on Oakwind and got left behind to quickly. So im looking forward to the new tlp what ever it is . Btw TBC you kind of got me back into QE after a 23 year break , keep up the good work :)

Starting over yet again in Classic sounds pretty rough. Only so many times you can do it. And if you play a beastlord or zerker or iksar or vah shir, you have to play the waiting game for your class or race to be released. I don't think I can do a classic start again.

I'd like to see something similar to what WoW is doing with Season of Mastery by adding new tasks to Classic on that unlock spells, abilities, or quality of life changes that usually don't unlock until much later (eg. group buffs/MGB, class utility AAs like rez/selos, ranger archery AAs, etc). Would be able to enjoy the usual nostalgia while adding some of the benefits of later expansions, encouraging more community interaction as people try to figure out the new tasks together. Possible side benefit of encouraging people to see later expacs?

I'd love to try a Mischief 2.0. I kinda want them to start clumping some of these expacs together, it takes too long to get to PoP, and later expacs. Launch with Vanilla/Kunark for 8 weeks, then pair Velious and Luclin together for say 12, then PoP/Gates/LoY/LDoN for i dunno 12 ish weeks. Not sure best time frame, but i usually quit after velious because Luclin just doesnt appeal to me, and if you miss that, hard to catch up in PoP.

Random loot (Mischief) + FTE would be the best possible imo. Virtually eliminates all of what relatively little toxicity that was on Oakwynd around camps. There would only be like half a dozen mobs in the game that really get locked down (looking at you, Cazel). Arch Mage is camped? Go do SolB instead. Some jerk wants to come around and FTE your named? Pack up and go to a different camp.

I would love to come back and play again, I played in classic till PoP seriously. I just don't think I'd have the time to come back and play again with a family and 1-2 hours to play per night and get very much out of the game.

The tlp servers are very “dadcore” friendly, xp is faster, instances exist, it’s no where near as hardcore as it used to be in terms of raiding. Guild I’m in is dadcore and raid nights are a max of 3 hours

I also missed the boat on mischief, part of me wants to like the rule set, but kind of takes away the gear chase and excitement of getting that rare big item that isn’t so common. Hope they include heirloom at the very least, my interest would be there

Your not wrong my other big issue is mischief is why do AoW when you can split tormax or Yelinak for the same loot

I have negative interest in new servers. I enjoy playing my original character. I'd quit playing altogether before I started over.

I loved Mischief at the time, I just dropped a little too early as you did. Only adjustment I'd like to see mirrors others comments. Have a standard loot included in the drop. I don't know if mobs are still loot pinata's, but that was certainly exciting. I just hope they make keying easier or just remove it entirely... they are just road blocks and sources of griefing

Oakwynd is the newest server currently in planes of power! Mischief is the most populated! My advice is to wait until may for a new server though

@keats27 live seems dead unless you are 125 and are in one of the handfuls of active guilds. But a ton if people came back for the new time locked progression servers including myself. It's actually super fun. Plane of knowledge is packed. All the old camps have groups with ques.

@keats27 I've played a ton of MMOs and the only thing any if them have on eq is graphics. The mechanics and game play and lore and amount of content are still the best

@@MoonshadowMemory I played EQ and WoW from release, and dang near everything in between. EQ's mechanics and game play cannot touch WoW. Going back feels awful--even to EQ2. I guess lore is subjective, but if you can't feel the difference between how smoothly the characters move in the most successful MMO ever and its predecessor, it makes me wonder about the rest of your observations.
