Lots of seriously cool cars! I liked the Red Bull F1 car, it is a thing of beauty and liked the work wheels 2024 Nissan GT-R and the Rohan Customs. The Swarovski crystal encrusted Mercedes would have probably been driven by Liberace 🎹 if he were still around 😂 That RB19 was so dominant 🏎 Adrian Newey is a design genius. Thanks for taking us along Peter! 👍

Awesome video Peter, Auto Salon used to be a big event here in the early 2000’s so it’s good to see the Tokyo one alive and well. I remember watching the Rohan Izawa videos years ago and thinking how incredible it was. My pick though is definitely that carbon R32 😧

You made my day! What a terrific effort. Since my Uncle took me to the Detroit Auto Show as a kid I've been hooked. Izawa san's 3-D sculpted G-Wagon was impressive. Had a chance to see the first G-Wagon in the U.S. when it was brought to Alaska for cold weather testing (Actually, the Mercedes dealer here admitted that the "testing" was by a group of Mercedes Executives who had it flown here for their hunting trip.). Would have loved to have acquired the vehicle but it had to be returned to Europe. Oh, to answer the question as to who should be driving one of those blingy crystal encrusted SL 600 Mercedes Benzes, it would share good company with Jennifer Lopez's collection that already includes several Rolls Royces, a Bentley, a Ferrari 488 GTB and an Austin Martin DB7. She claims her car criteria is a vehicle that incorporates style and performance. Dale here in Alaska

A couple of cars out of my past but more immaculate, the 240 k GT you identified as a Skyline was branded Datsun in its time it had the same single overhead Cam 2.4 Litre engine as the 240 C Saloon and The 240Z and shared pistons and Conrods with the 1600, my older brother had a 240C in NZ as his large family car. The other was the little Suzuki CXG it had an oil injected three cylinder two stroke engine and a four speed gearbox … I remember driving our Honeymoon around the middle of the North Island of New Zealand some thirty seven years ago. A really fun drive and could fit five smaller people in it … oh and mine had a sunroof too …

What's the JDM feeling on electrification? Back home in the US, people seem almost violently divided, with gassers destroying charging station and "rolling coal" on people with Teslas. Peter Can you comment on your personal view of electric bikes too ? And say hi to the fam, of course!😊
@PetervonGommJAPAN9 ай бұрын
That's crazy to hear about violence related to BEV cars and owners getting the middle finger. Smacks of when Japanese cars were eating US auto makers lunch in 70's /80's and peeps were being jerks. There are a lot of Teslas here but nothing compared to the US. Also of course loads of Japanese electrics on the roads, but many more HEVs so far. Electric bikes? I haven't ridden enough yet to comment confidently but I think there's a place and space, but combustion engine bikes ... hard to beat.
@bawintermage83519 ай бұрын
@@PetervonGommJAPAN Thanks for the thoughtful comment. Hope all is well with the family. Hope to see you do some videos on bike clubs. And although it didn't seem to be as popular, I loved the true crime and weird Japan stories

The good: Video. Commentary. Excellent descriptions. The bad: these cars are not reality. They generally are imaginary. You don’t see them at dealers and on the road and you would not want to drive them for fear of damage. It’s more of an art exhibit than a real car show. The American roads would destroy these cars.
@maralisil7 ай бұрын
Ah, but shows are all about fantasy! Really want to see station wagons or SUVs?!
@TimTheMusicMan7 ай бұрын
@@maralisil these fantasy’s are destroying humanity. It’s all materialism and money and greed and gluttony and lust. Especially in a place like Japan where most of the country is engulfed in fake video games fake monsters fake cars. It’s all fiction. Nothing is real.
