Japanese drivers are so polite. Coming from NY, I rented a Honda S660 since it was my dream to drive a right side manual. I was surprised that in the ten days I was there, I did not hear a single car honk their horn. Drivers patiently wait their turn merging into lanes, they flash their hazards twice when you let them in front of you. I then made my way to Seoul and was greeted to the familiar sounds of drivers laying down their horns because they had two wait two seconds.

I've been told it's custom for workers arriving early to park the farthest away from the front of the job, so that the people running late could park close enough to clock in on time. Needless to say we could learn a couple things from Japan.

I’m in Japan right now with a couple of friends as a graduation gift to myself, I got my international drivers license prior to coming. I’m rented a Toyota Yaris cross in Sapporo and I rented a skyline that I will be picking up in Tokyo next week. It’s been fun so far!!

Side note, do not taxi or climb into the area on foot, doing this will get the area shut down for the locals long term, rent a car and drive there if you really want to enjoy and keep daikokufuto alive

@@jeremyk3154 people go in a taxi and then have no way to then leave afterwards leading in some people to either try climb out or attempt to call taxis in which rarely works, this is a parking rest spot for people who drive, when I visit next year I will put in the effort to rent a car to get there

Why would it kill you a little inside? What is wrong with you? You must be one of those weeb who has unrealistic expectations about Japan. How lame. One of the reasons why Japan is so cool is because they're so open minded about outside influences from around the world & make it part of their own culture. They're not like the South Koreans, who look down on people of color, South East Asians & any country with GDP lower than their own. Koreans are so proud of K-pop "taking over the world" and yet it's heavily inspired by R&B & Hip Hop. Japanese curiosity for the world surrounding them is what makes Japan so creative.

EJ20 model is around $10,000+ CAD for one already imported/resale and around $6500CAD for the domestic model/equivalent. Japan gets them cheap but dude in the video got a steal all things considered.

When I traveled to Japan for the first time like 7 years ago and at night saw some of those modified cars come out, some with crazy anime artworks and cool lighting I was surprised. In Germany we don't have that. I think in general making modifications is crazy strict in Germany but I'm not a car guy so not 100% sure how the law is. Living in Tokyo now for 2 years and still awesome whenever I see one of those drive around. It definitely makes me interested in cars as well. The people that are into their cars like that seem super chill and nice and it's nice to get caught in their enthusiasm of their hobby. Always reminds me of the good old Need for Speed games like the Underground series. So awesome

I imported my 01 legacy b4 from Japan about 8 years ago. bought it dirt cheap (sub 1000 USD). Has almost the same power as some of the 30k usd cars do and still going strong. Japanese people take very good care of their cars so I think thats partly the reason why a 20 year old car was able to do trackdays and come out of it in one piece :D. Massive respect to the Japanese car owners and much love from Georgia.

I went to Japan back in 2001 before the movie released. The cars are more than you could ever imagine. The customizations were something I’d never seen before. Also, I remember feeling like I was in an anime while I was there. I didn’t realize how much they used of their everyday lives in those movies and shows.

i was in august.. and i got even picked up from yokohama station with a supra and i loved everything... japan.. the culture.. the people.. hope i can go next year again to japan... it was my first time this year.. and this is def. a must if you are in tokyo :D

The designers/ architects of the Daikoku Parking area are wild. Just a huge double decker loop in a huge circle at the base of the Yokohama Bay bridge. The real bummer is the police come and tell everyone to leave around 8:30 or 9:00 PM. the folks are spending money at the parking area eateries, Lawson, etc. and are not bothering anyone. I would hope the police have more important things to do than harass people every night committing no crime and providing a livelihood to the local businesses and expressway in the form of inflated tolls.

Did not expect a Daikoku episode on here but that was an awesome episode. Japan really is in the 90s regarding regulations and modified cars - so more easy on drivers. Very cool people, cant help but simp a little for the Nissan Z girl :D

Japan is strict as hell. All these guys have to pretty much put their cars back to stock before the mandatory inspection (車検) every two years. And after the inspection they put all the mods back on.

Because I think Japan has started to follow the modern era, where Japanese people, especially girls at school, don't like English because it's difficult to change the accent of the letter R to L. I was in Tokyo in September and went on a Thursday. A lot of cars, a lot of different variety of builds. Very cool to see. I was able to befriend someone who had a friend who was a local and owned a car. I split the cost of gas, and went with him. Very cool experience. We don't really have something like this where I live where people come in and out on a daily basis. Some owners stay for 10 minutes, some stay for hours. Would recommend.

I love how everyone can express their own style in their vehicles they own. I live in California, USA and it's pretty heavily regulated on what you can do with your car here from modifications that can affect noise and air quality. Many people are profiled here just for having a lowered vehicle or tinted windows as an example and the police will find a reason to give you a ticket/fine or even force you to reverse your modifications at an extreme example.

Japanese car culture is great, so many scenes, many people even have cool non-Japanese cars that are modified and done really well I also really enjoyed Osaka car culture, but the thing is, everyone is so friendly and respectful, no matter what car they have, whether it be a honda civic or a Lamborghini
