Congrats on the kid as well! And thank you for picking the manual version- highly tempting to pickup instead of the automatic. Except no 6 foot bed in manual…

Towing videos would be interesting there aren’t many done with manual Tacoma.

I would like to hear someone talk about the potential financial difference of owning a turbo vs NA. I understand that a turbocharged engine on average won’t last as long as a non turbo without having problems. But the real question, that I see absolutely nobody talk about, is what is the cost? If a new turbo costs let’s say $1500, and needs to be replaced after 100-150,000 miles, is that really so bad? $1500 today is nothing more than a few tanks of gas.

How would you compare the Bronco to your Taco? I really like everything about the manual Bronco but am getting a little tired of the convertible aspect and miss having a truck bed. I owned a manual 3rd gen Taco and never really loved the powertrain or seating position but sounds like those both are improved.

Great question Jacob. The Bronco is a slightly more numb experience with a better infotainment system. The tacoma, in my opinion as someone who has owned both, has better steering and transmission feel with more torque. The real pro with the Bronco is price, the Tacoma still is 40+ with a manual, where you can find used Broncos for

So you saying the instrument cluster isn’t dimmable and same with the center screen. That stinks, man thats alot of light n a guys face driving at night. Nice video though, i really liked your reveiw on the 6speed manual. For future content i would suggest showing how well a 4x8 of plywood fits n the bed.

If you trade go Frontier Pro 4X. CRAZY deals to be had 15-18k off MSRP WITH low interest financing!
@MoneyShift

Goood call out! I was thinking of going this direction for a direct comparison, but what scares me about the Frontier is how hard it would be to then offload afterwards without taking a bath. I pay for these cars on my own, so buying cars with good residual is very helpful to me, as I dont really make the big bucks doing these videos haha.

@@MoneyShift It's going to depend on that up front deal. I think if you got $18,000 off MSRP considering the pro4x is already the cheapest in class, it won't be that hard to offload. but you're right there's always a gamble with Nissan and resale. Yeah I don't think you're going to make much on the views but it is the only one in the midsize that's not turbocharged and that matters to A LOT of people and they've seen a lot of sales come up so it'd be nice to see is the new turbocharged engines better than normally aspirated. It would also be nice to see if you've done towing comparisons between the two what you're really giving up because I don't think you're going to see much in daily driving because they both make all around 300 horsepower I think you're going to see it when you're towing with the lack of torque.

Interested in getting a manual. Is it actually fun to drive ? I had a jku 6 speed and it was still fun to drive I know it's not a high end car but 90% of the reason I would get a 4 banger truck is because of the option for stick. Is it any fun in spirited driving situations ?

The manual transmission itself is quite good. I created another video on my channel showcasing the feel of it and my thoughts but at a high level I quite enjoy it. The clutch is perfectly weighted, the throws, while long, are quite nice and direct, and the turbo noises make for a good time. You wont hoon this car in corners or on a backroad, but it makes the mundane engaging.

In the last few days I test drove a 24 bronco and tacoma both manuals , I have the exact opposite opinion of both , the bronco shifted a lot smoother and with way less rev hang that made it a pleasure and the tacoma a pain in the butt waiting for rpm’s to drop a bit , and the clutch catch point on the bronco was 1/2 way up from clutch pushed to floor and the tacoma at the very top , hated the Tacoma manual , wouldn’t buy it

First thing I do after starting my truck is disabled all that 🤣.. hit the traction control button hold it down for 3 seconds and it will shut all that driving assist off. Other than that I love my 4th gen.. 5k plus miles 👍🏼. More miles I put seems like everything is finaly settling and getting road warrior..

Since its stated that the motor has been detuned on the manual transmission, how much Hp/Tq does one lose with the manual transmission vs the automatic transmission?
@MoneyShift

Great question Benny Automatic: 278HP / 317TQ Manual: 270HP/310TQ So a difference of 8 HP and 7 TQ.
