The Tacoma has always been the go to and sure thing for long term reliability and the one truck you could pass along to family members. Is that the case anymore? The mid-size truck market is hot and Ford and GM have some impressive offerings. Is the Tacoma still king?

I bought a 2024 Tacoma Off-Road and I have no regrets. So much better than my 2018 Tacoma Gen 3. My 2018 and 2024 models were both assembled in Mexico and no issues. People want to whine and cry over the turbos and their short lives. I work with many people, who drive vehicles with OEM turbos with over 150,000 miles on them. Toyota placed a commercial grade turbo on the 2024 Tacoma so it will perform better with heftier needs than their other turbo vehicles. Toyota will make things right if issues come up with their vehicles. People want to complain over the naturally aspirated engines being phased out. They need to complain to the government as their greenhouse gas laws related to emissions is killing the bigger engines.

Thanks for watching and sharing your Tacoma experiences. It’s without a doubt a great truck and folks in the ubiquitous Ford F-150 land have accepted the eco boost turbo. As you mention Toyota is very crafty and puts a lot of thought into all they do. All the best , enjoy your Tacoma, and happy motoring.

I didn't buy the 4th gen Tacoma and have zero regrets. It made pulling the trigger on King Shocks much easier. Knowing I have no desire to buy the new Tacoma.

I bought a Sport Premium. Awesome truck. I currently also own a ‘21 Sport pretty well loaded. The 24 is many many times the truck. I will be keeping both trucks

@@craigt5990 Reliability wise, the 3rd gen is far superior

capable my ass! it broke with a simple off road test by tfl. Plus, the shit tranny is having issues and lest not get into the tundra... I will pass the the 4th gen tacoma complelty.

Actually, it is quite capable….when it’s working😂. The TFL test is quite famous now and they uncovered a software glitch, that of course should never have happened. TFL has also been able to get cars like Dodge and Mazda to throw error codes on their slip tests. Toyota has been in the news for all the wrong reasons but of all the companies to trust to fix their issues I would still put them on top. Maybe wait a couple years for the 4th to get its bugs works out. Waiting out for the 5th gen could be quite a while.
