@EAK14372 ай бұрын
This is Toyota we’re talking about. It’s not gonna be a time bomb like other turbo 4 cylinders
@Bloodbain8828 күн бұрын
They're already having a lot of failures, mainly spun crank bearings. When you take a light, small displacement engine and force enough air through it for 300+ HP and 400+ torque, it's not going to last unless it is way overbuilt. My 12 valve Cummins makes 230hp and 600ft lbs of torque. But the engine alone weighs 1,000lbs. It has 550,000 miles on it. Because it was overbuilt for it's purpose. I've seen the N/A toyota engines like the 22re, the 4.7 and 5.7 go for half a million miles, because they were well built and understressed for their purpose. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I doubt it. Toyota isn't what they used to be. None of the manufacturers are.

These new Toyota hybrid 4x4 definitely seem interesting. I feel like the reliability shouldnt be a concern with how much experience Toyota has with making hybrid vehicles. Great looking truck

@rezamir60657 ай бұрын
The Toyota Tacoma typically comes with a six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, and many professional drivers are aware of the potential issues associated with turbocharging in smaller engines, such as four-cylinder ones.
@blendpinexus1416Ай бұрын
yeah, which is why i'm glad ford and chevy haven't ditched their na v8 engines. when it comes to trucks there truelly is no replacement for displacement. though adding a hybrid system to give some extra low end grunt is always a good play in my book.

@Gideon-300 Жыл бұрын
@@johnnyc0811 I think most trd pros end up as status symbols like raptors and don't see much dirt anyways. An offroader dude would be much better off buying the cheaper off road trim and modifying the hell out of it. I think that trim will have the matte black flares.
@JebemTiZivot4 ай бұрын
@@Gideon-300Yeah thats what I did with my gen 3, unfortunate bc the pros really do always look great and have great features, especially the gen 4 I think the pro BLOWS the other trims out of the water but its just so expensive and luxury that, as you said, it probably wont be utilized as much for offroading as will lower trims like the offroad or trailhunter.
