Illing Jr is class. The kid has a massive ceiling! He's lightning quick, good on attack and defense. Big lad too. Emery have 3-5-2 plans for next season? Works well for us with the rumours that Moreno wants to go back to Spain.

Have to give you massive credit on Douglas Luiz and Duran. I originally wasn't sure about either but you clearly saw something we didn't, and I'm honestly coming around to being fond of this deal. Think it's a big boost to the squad when we have Tielemans already and that Luiz would indeed suit Juventus a lot while McKennia and Illing Jr suit us. Very enjoyable analysis 👍. The last bit ‘beefing up the squad’ is key. Last term we could only play how we wanted to play when the opposition suited. An injection of physicality, pace, power, will take us up a level. Fully agree with management being ‘ ruthless’ …going way back to Saunders with Andy Gray/ Peter Withe it’s what top bosses do (look at Fergies record of selling). The secret ingredient to all this is Unais coaching. He will be getting players he wants to improve. That’s why WE will be getting the better of this deal, and any others we make.

Doug served us well. Not sure if he wanted to go or whether he was sacrificed for PSR but or JJ would always be the ones, they'd sell quickly. PSR serves the Sky 6 and no one else.

Yeah, Luiz has been a good servant but we can do a lot with the cash, and Duran is just a dick so that's more coffers in the kitty and no great loss. Tielemans for me is a better player than Doug, so we have his replacement already at the club. McKennie can cover Kamara, IJ is a 20 year old with pace, strength and versatility. Barkley is a good cheap addition to bolster CM. And after all that we still have spare change to get in a marquee player. Good business if it all pans out like that.

Tielemans hasn’t got the physicality of dougie and the technicality is also underrated. Tielemans always looks knackered after 20 mins. Rate him but we seem to be looking at reasons we don’t like dougie anymore 😂😂

I just don't see any benefit from this move `beyond that of a financial spreadsheet - we'll be lucky if we get someone who brings to the team what Luiz has, who slots-in so readily. He has versatility as an attacking mid-fielder, a holding mid-fielder or a defensive mid-fielder. Real shame.

Whilst I understand a lot of fans moaning about luiz going etc, I also would love to see him stay. I think on his day he’s quality. BUT a lot of fans don’t seem to be considering publicly is that perhaps HE wants to move on. If this IS case then we need to get the best possible deal available. If they see something in McKennie and illing then let’s see. Perhaps juve aren’t in the position to stump Up £50-60m for him. At least this way if it’s goes through we maybe get a better deal. Time will tell. Dhuran on the other hand as long as we don’t lose money, he seems to bring as much disruption as he does positivity so again if someone is willing to pay then time to move on

Unai has Rinsed Juve! Id have been happy with MCKennie OR Illing Junior + £20M! To getvboth is outstanding business! If Juve are valuing them at £20M each! Crazy! They'll be worth double that in a year! They are still young and will need a few months to adapt to Premier League after Italian League, but MCKennie has experience with Leeds. They will both make Villa more creative and dynamic, both are proper tacklers, and MCKennie has so many passes, and goals in him, and can be very unpredictable, subtle, and dynamic, a hussler too for Unai pressing game......he reminds a bit of NGOLO KANTE in some ways! And Illing Junior has so much ability n skill for an attacking left wing back it's ridiculous! I'm well happy! Juve have lost the plot!😮

Honestly, Ive been a Villa fan 45 years,and I've never been convinced by Luiz! I'm so glad he's gone! Too pedestrian and not dynamic or creative enough for what we need in Unais midfield. Two players and £20M is a brilliant bit of business! Luiz is more suited to Italian slower build up. Id hoping Unai sells Massive Mistake Every Match Mings too! Same as, Villa have outgrown his prem mid table defending! Look how well Villa have done WITHOUT Mings! I don't think we would have made Champs League with Mings IN the team! Villa fan are so loyal we support EVERY player regardless, but Luiz wasn't good enough to lace up Denis Mortimer or Gordon Cowans boot laces! And Mings is no Ken McNaught!! Even Ollie Watkins needs to raise his game even more if he wants to be get near Gary Shaw / Peter White legendary status to impress me! Watkins is ok, but he still misses some easy chances, and misses some passes in his blinkered attempts to score at times as he's had a great season and has become more selfish.....but not quite Salah levels of selfishness thank God!
