Was on my way to get one myself but they sold it as I was driving there. I ended up with a 24 XSR900 and I don't feel bad about it. Fits me a bit better at 6'3. That being said I think the Striple RS is an amazing bike with fantastic parts on it. May be a bit overkill for using it only on the street though. But who doesn't love overkill!

@@verothacamaro I find if you scoot all the way back you sit more on your legs and the seat is pretty tolerable. That being said I eventually will grab up a Kelpi seat. I did end up getting it 1k off. Not sure if that promo is still going on with Yamaha.

I wasn’t able to buy a bike in my 20s. Now, at 34 and in a much better financial situation, life has changed a bit. For a while, I struggled with some bad thoughts, questioning things and trying to figure out what my role in this life is. Then one day, my inner child spoke up: ‘What happened to your dreams? You care for your family, your child-but what about yourself?’ And so, I decided to listen to that voice. Now, on the less sentimental side: many German reviewers say the bike is so lightweight and agile that it’s super easy for beginners to handle. That sealed the deal for me, because when I saw the bike in this color for the first time, I instantly fell in love :D

The 765RS is the best value in motorcycling. It’s faster than I can ride (I’m mostly a literbike sportbike kinda guy), handles really well, and doesn’t destroy tires or drink gas. If it had more leg room I wouldn’t want to ride anything else as a main ride.

They're too similar, but we'll it's your choice. Personally I avoid very simillar mtorocycles. They're both triples and are supersports (come on the STR is a supersport it just has bars and no fairings with lower gears lmao they race it in wssp and TT).

@@rns6889 agreed. I took my STRS (exact same as this one) on track and it really is just as fast trackable as any other supersport. I wasn't missing fairings or clip ons, only reason I would ever get a bike in the category that is fully faired with clip ons is if I decide I want to race. If you want 2 bikes, get this and then get a superbike of your choice that is fully faired. At that power level is when you feel the difference in aerodynamics.

Maybe I'm just not a good enough rider but the 1200 was a beast; couldn't put the power down properly and it just felt like a wild stallion that was waiting for a chance to throw me off. The 765 was confidence inspiring and was still able to rack triple digits in a blink of an eye while not wanting to throw me off in the curves.

I spoiled myself with this bike. Ended up choosing the cosmic yellow, but had to wait for the 2025s to come in to get that color. I'm so glad I did. It was hard putting down $1k and then waiting four months. I'm going to do a few mods: Racefit Growler exhaust and tune, tail tidy with integrated tail light, low profile front signals, and bar end mirrors. This is my second motorcycle and I am quite confident I will never be getting rid of this one. Everything about the bike is so refined. But don't let that fool you, it's plenty grunty and fast if you open it up. I got the bike to have something to zip around town with but also venture into track riding. Just have to wait for some good weather. I live a bit further north than Yammie. Edited because I fat finger everything on my phone.

best bike in the street bike market and generally one of the best bike ever made considering also the price tag! You can even use it on the track considering the general level of the chassis, engine, brakes and suspension and it would give a lot of trobules to a lot of bikes out there! This is the kind of bikes we need on the market, many companies have to learn from Triumph currently!! Last but not least it's also a very good looking bike, that yellow fits perfectly too!

All the other riders who I've seen post videos of themselves in big group rides showing off how fast their bikes are become squids when they show themselves on the track. I've seen them barely get out of 2nd or 3rd gear and never seem to have the need to brake before a corner and my motto on the track has always been if you don't need the brakes you're not going fast enough. Maybe it's because they don't want to drop their 30K bike but, if they earned that bike with KZbin money why not? Nice of you to show how the bike can be ridden on the track.

You can get a full system for a 18-22 RS and it'll mount to the 24' with no issues. But there is no tuning available for the 24' yet, so removing the cat with a full system is not the best choice. The other option is to get stock headers from 18'-22' and a slip-on. If you can find the headers used, then it'll even be cheaper than a full catless system.

The issues Yam discusses with the quickshift are also on the trident and can be a bit annoying, unless you right up in the revs. 130bhp STriple or 155bhp Hornet SP or 170bhp S100R, all to be used on the street also.

I can attest to that, I've downshifted without holding the handlebar and it's smooth. But on track I have had issues downshifting, mainly by shifting into neutral instead of the next lower gear. It's not often, but it has happened.

I've done a lot of 6-2 downshifts with my hands off the bars and sitting straight up on my 24 R, it does fine. It may very well be bike/adjustment dependant.

If it had more leg room, fairings and some kind of wind shield it would be perfect.

I’m torn between the Street Triple 765 RS 2024 and the KTM Duke 890 R. The more reviews I watch, the more confused I get. Any advice?

I rode both, wound up with the 765. A bit more comfortable for me, liked the look of the bike better (although, TBH, neither is a good looking machine), and the 3 cylinder power delivery is very different than my other bike (Aprilia Tuono 660). The Duke felt like a more powerful 660, the triple felt entirely different. And, of course, cam shafts and KTM's response (and now financial trouble) meant I needed to absolutely love the Duke to buy it, if it didn't win big, I wasn't going to deal with the KTM gremlins.

Xsr900 2023 Sc project with high flow BMC intake and a tune. 120 hp to the wheel and 72 nm of torque. Or this bike? Also planning on installing a Olins rear shock

On my 3rd Streetie. I have to agree about the dash. I joke that I buy this bike 'despite' the dash or even if it didn't have one. 🙂 The rest of it is near perfect.

Both really good, but different bikes in a lot of ways. Especially power delivery. I've had a 2018 and 2020 STRS and currently have a Moto2, so there is my preference, but I have to say the MT-09SP looks like a very fun and well equipped machine.

Yeah, I'm biased towards the 09 myself, as I have a 23 XSR 900. Most reviews prefer the 09 motor as the torque slaps you harder & sooner. However there would be no 09 without the OG Street triple, can't go wrong!!!

@tarnishedsquid2967 i like the streetie because it just pulls harder and harder all the way to the rev limiter. To each his own ;-)
