Jomez is the level of polish and production that this sport deserves. A tiered subscription service for dodgy coverage is never EVER going to grow a sport where most people would laugh in your face if you told them you have to pay the price of a top-of-the-line disc to watch one event. This season, we've seen how susceptible disc golf's institutions are to mismanagement and bad actors. Comparing the energy, crowd, and sprit of Maple Hill to USDGC tells the tale well enough. I didn't figure out who won yet, but I've been a fan of this channel since the start. The day they announced I would wait two weeks for my favorite tournament or pay the company that has ruined my favorite sport with every choice. I have waited unfollowed every disc golfers account and won't refollow. Because this is just the start. Too bad they sold to these money hungry fools. I won't support disc golf behind a pay wall when they done even get 100k views on KZbin per video without a big name on the card. Sad year for us.

Took everything to not get this spoiled. I haven't even watch the Pro Tour Championship for fear that BigBari or whoever is commentating would spoil it. I get wanting to delay the post-production to encourage people to pay for the live, but it is still tough. Any better solution ideas?

That isn’t what we are complaining about. We are complaining that DGN forces Jomez to put this out two weeks after the tournament happened. I don’t want to pay to watch DGN’s shitty coverage when I can wait a few days for excellent post production on Jomez for free, hell I’d even pay a few bucks for it if I had to.

They had no choice in the matter. DGPT broadcast rules for 2024 did not allow Jomez to do day after coverage for specific events, presumably to drive more people to live DGN coverage (with associated subscription).

I hope every event from now on comes at least a week later, minimum, to incentivize live. That’s how the sport actually grows ya goobers. Jomez won’t grow the sport, live will. The most viewed jomez video, was the 2019 worlds final round, and I’m sure 99% of the views came almost 1-2 years AFTER. Jomez needs to just be an “archive” as opposed to being the “main source.”

Needlessly pushing back post production is FOR SURE going to turn a lot of people off from watching. Live sports does not fit my life schedule. I follow no live events except The International (Dota2). And that's just once a year.

Here's the problem with that. I'll *never* have the time to watch live disc golf all day, whether it's because I'm working, or actually out playing myself, or doing some other outdoor activity. Ball golf is expensive and slow and targets a different demographic, so there's less likely to be conflict between those watching and playing.
