The answer to the Elipse is the same that I said when the Code 12:59 came out - and AP must have listened. The way out of the doldrums with this model is a significant and fun variety of dial colors with matching or complimentary strap colors. How about a lavender dial with plum strap? How about burgundy on burgundy? How about a light turquoise dial and teal strap? How about a deep rusty orange dial/strap? How about a mint green dial with blued steel dial hardware and printing with a forest green strap? Gobs and gobs of color options could really bring this model back to the forefront. I’d be happy to help PP develop such colors.

I predict something conservative based on an Aquanaut if it happens at all, but I'd be thrilled to see a dedicated platform shared with no existing model lines. I'd love to see Patek revive the Neptune name for its hypothetical purpose-built diver. Best, Tim

Believe it or not, we didn't change anything. The old encoding computer coped with smaller files during today's stream vs larger ones a few weeks ago. That, and the CPU might have been cooler when we started the stream. We still have a new machine on order. Best, Tim

Rolex wants to be in the same class as Patek Philippe. The 526011455R with 1,170 jewels at 11:23 is Patek's way of reminding Rolex that even with its Rainbow Daytona and Saru, Rolex has a mountain to climb. Great job Thierry Stern!

Sorry but I disagree on your take of the Golden Ellipse. Keeping the said model is a bit like keeping the spirit of Thierry’s grandfather. Golden Ellipse is not for everyone, just like the complicated pieces. So I say keep it for greater variety of the brand!

No. I do not want to see a quick change system like the VC overseas. It’s very compromised because of its single release point. None of the straps or the bracelet actually fasten tightly onto the watch head and there’s too much play for a watch that costs as much as a car
