As a young woman, growing up outside St. Louis, I was fortunate enough to be invited to visit the compound of a local family. The main house, occupied by the patriarch was built into the side of a steep hill much like the home in this video. The grounds surrounding it were numerous above-ground homes for the progeny, a large barn for the horses with trails for riding, and a huge pond in front, that was fed by the creek that ran through the living room of the main house. This was close to 60 years ago and I still wonder at the experience.
