2024 was an earth-shattering year for me in terms of doll collecting. I "broke up" with the doll who had been my passion for the past ten years and rediscovered Barbie. It's really good to be back. I love your videos, Arjen. The video about doll burnout resonated with me at just the perfect time. I'm definitely Team Odile. That face is so incredible, so vintage and yet so contemporary. I'm going crazy wondering when the ballet Odiles will come into wider distribution. And I can barely wait until we find out more about the Looks and/or the Basics. Frankly, I think there's room for both lines, the Looks for those who want full articulation and the Basics for those who prefer Model Muse. Some of us are utter dolly pigs and want both. (Who? Me? Oink, oink!) I still need to edit my collection. There are some things with which I have been disappointed, like the separate Barbiestyle outfits. I've discovered independent artists on eBay and Etsy and would rather spend my money with them. But that's just my opinion. Only buying Fashionistas if they're unique. Have not found that four-doll set anywhere and I want the doll with vitiligo. Anyway, thank you for enhancing my enjoyment of my new/old hobby, and I wish you and your husband a wonderful and happy New Year! 🎇🎉🎊🥂

Happy New Year!!! 2024 was truly a great doll year! I'm definitely happy that so many Odile Dolls were made! They dominated as far as I'm concerned! I have about twenty at the moment because I've done a lot of customs using sirens and I can't wait for the new Odile playline to arrive in Europe too!!! (Although I really don't like the version with the open mouth, it's not even a smile, it just has an open mouth, I don't know) I honestly think that I am among the few who have not been at all impressed by Defa Lucy, perhaps it is because over time I am increasingly oriented towards focusing on quality rather than quantity, I prefer to spend more money on a single but truly beautiful doll rather than buying many dolls mediocre. I hope they announce the new Looks collection soon because I need new Kens and new bodies made to move petite!

First off I loved the Blonde 65th Anniversary Doll the way they made her dress like the 60's Barbie also loved The Odile face type Barbie's (I don't have a Odile doll yet but hoping to purchase one soon!) Also I liked the Blue Barbie Silkstone and the other Silkstone not so much they could've done a prettier dress for her really liked The RBD looking Barbied I never even knew they had those Barbie Style was cute I loved her Tennis version and the doll with the black and white outfit The Harley Quinn Doll was gorgeous!! Also loved the Integrity Doll Nu-Fantasy Sirene Doll Mermaid she is just gorgeous!!

Ooohhh! So glad you had this video. A recap of dolls released last year ( almoat said this year only to realize I'm in 2025 now. lol) My top fave would definitely be the BMFC dolls (still expensive for my pocket but might probably get them one of these days) and the Odile ones (I have the purple haired mermaid as the pink one is always sold out). I'll probably buy Made to Move this year to rebody some of the ones I had last year. Oh, another fave is the Filipina Barbie released last quarter of the year which I still have yet to purchase despite being quite expensive

Oh man where do I start? This year was a very good Barbie/ Monster high year for me😅but I loved all the pink, pink, pink of it all dolls… one of my favorites was the Odile ballerina, the pink deluxe Barbies, Barbie dream besties (which I totally hope they make more of 🤞), and of course the reproduction Barbie’s. I bought the black Defa Lucy from a website. Then got into a heated discussion regarding the black one. She is pretty. Much more so in person. She’s using the same doll mold as the others… no big deal. The red coat is well made. To me the big puffer coat it’s more Korean hip hop than anything.

I want Ken Dream Bestie so bad! Haven’t seen him in stores yet! I love that he has rooted hair. If I can get some more bags of vintage and modern clothes from the thrift store, I might get some more Looks dolls because they can be super cute, and often have rooted Kens. I did get Asian mermaid Odile, but tempted to get the Pink Premiere and/or the Ballet Wishes if I can. Trying to find that playline too. Worries me not to see a lot of the ones I want in store. I’m struggling to find the Millie fairy, but she’s so cute. Sometimes brunette and red hair is called auburn. I love Descendants and have a handful of dolls from the original trilogy, but didn’t get any from Rise of Red. Maeve Riley is so so cute, but I also got upset about that price change thing. I hope they do another Diwali, but with more color and more love to her quality. I love the ILY Daisy Duck too, always got a Daisy hat at Disney as a kid. Still crushed about Cady Heron. I got the LOL OMG Pearla and she’s really cute. I’m still obsessed w my Allan. He makes me smile all the time. I did get the RH glitter leg blue girl Marina and my local doll store had a great light blue crocheted dress that suits her. I have a RH for each season and she’s spring, with the fashion pack rainbow roller skates. I named her Buddy Pitterpatterson for spring (buds like baby flowers and pitter-patter for the rain).

I also hate target exclusive dolls. I live near Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and we have a toys r us store, Walmart and NO Target, and our toys r us is the saddest place to buy dolls in as the shelves are almost always bare! And Walmart and toys are us never seem to get the stock of new dolls that I see every one else on KZbin seems to get. Canada sucks!!!
