Never ridden any previous MT but had a 900 triple Triumph Tiger GT and this triple is definitely more exciting, especially in Sport mode 😀. Had a short test ride last weekend and going for another this Saturday but 99% certain this will be my new bike. Tech and display style much better than the Tiger even if not as big. Never been keen on the looks but love this one in Cyan. Thanks for a great review. Watched all the reviews on YT this past week and not heard anyone not love riding this bike.

I bought a 2010 VFR 1200F DCT @ 170bhp for my 65th bday present and I’m addicted to that V4 engine. So much fun to ride, but can only manage a couple of hours on it. Really want to try out the MT 09 SP in the auto version to see if it will put a smile on my face. I like the weight savings. By current bikes weigh 650 pounds and 1 750! Looking for something a little lighter. Great review. Ride safe…

Nice one Tony. Thank you. The only bike on my list for 2024 is the XSR-900 GP. The original MT-09’s were, in my opinion, horrible. The disconnection between the front and rear suspension and chassis setup made it a very nervous bike when being pushed. At least they have finally nailed it with this generation as it’s a night and day comparison.

Great review! Many thanks. Rode it back to back with the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS and for me and my age (soon 64) I prefer the MT 09 and will get it (hopefully) in May 25. It is a brilliant bike, best naked I have ridden and I have tried most of them. While KTM and Triumph always want more, faster, wilder the MT09 can do it all, fast or slow, it never forces you like the Triumph does. And, its dash is the very best while the Triumph's is the worst I have seen in years.

Funny, I test road the gen 4 today. In all truth, it didn’t feel to much different from my gen 3 but have to admit, although all the changes are subtle, on the whole does make it a slightly better ride.
@QuickRipzz5 ай бұрын
Slightly better in what way would you say?
@Steve-motorcycles5 ай бұрын
@@QuickRipzz The engine and the performance is the same. There is slightly more weight on the front end which transfers into more feel into what the front wheel is doing. It gives more confidence. The front brake is also improved offering more feel and progression. It’s not a night and day difference but definitely an improvement for sportier riding. What with the new dash and connectivity, it’s a better around experience. Would I say is it worth trading the gen 3 to a gen 4, I guess that’s up to the individual. Its better, but not massively

I’ve been looking for a replacement for my 2021 Tiger 900 GT Pro, as I’m not doing any touring anymore and I want something lighter, i did have a KTM Duke 890 last year as well, I test road the Triumph Street Triple RS but found it too focused and I refuse to pay the extra for Cruise Control, I then test road the MT 09 and have ordered a SP for August delivery, never rode one before simply based on the styling I’ve also ordered a 2024 Husqvarna 401 Svartpillon for those days when I want to poodle about or if the weather is poor.

As ever, informative and relevant for the majority of riders who want an educated and rounded review - keep it up. I think you answered itr already in another comment (not in the review), but you'd take this over the Streety. Can you say why? Overall package, comfort, fun vs serious, etc? I'm hoping to see reviews doing direct comparisons, but your early insight would help fuel my need to replace my aging '11 Street Triple R which with an aging body too feels very firm these days. Cheers!

I'm looking to purchase myself this latest version MT-09, but would be intersted in your thoughts about spending the extra for the SP.. I am going to go test ride them both back to back to see the difference, but that extra cash is the issue that I would have to find.. only as I also want ro add a few extras too, heated grips, blinker hangards, black levers...
@mancavemoto3 күн бұрын
Good question. The price difference is largely down to the suspension and brakes. On paper the SP looks like a no brainer as the difference in list price is much less that if you wanted to buy those extra parts separately. But the question is do you 'need' them? If you want to do a few track days then I would say yes, but for the road its a little trickier. Yes the SP suspension and brakes are better, but that doesnt make the standard ones bad. Speaking for myself, I would buy the standard and then spend the extra on parts i that want/need, such as heated grips etc. Let me know your thoughts after the test ride.

Nice review sir. I briefly considered this updated Yamaha, but bought a new Street Triple RS in yellow instead. The MT09 has the torque. but the Triumph just looks so much better, and goes and handles so well! Even at 67 yrs old, I still have to consciously think about speed as it begs you to go fast. And track days are a blast for sure.

I’m finding the handling to be very good on the mt09 I’m on my first 100 miles and this weekend going to really take it on some curvy roads but even quick shifter felt better on it than the triumph.. which I didn’t get since full coverage was outrageous in the states for me

My old 2019 MT-09 had a fully adjustable front suspension. From what I've read, the 2024 does too. I remember having mine set to be really soft, which caused a little wobble at hard acceleration at higher speeds. So, I firmed it up and it mostly went away.
