I took test drive last week and car is great, but I found pickup of XEV9 way more then this beamer. Also even simple thing like 360 camera is not offered, made me wonder where else BMW may have made cost cutting. So I decide to stick with XEV9.

Remember that you are not actually paying a "cheaper" price for this! GST is a whopping 48%. So this will cost above 80 lakhs! Plus your yearly maintenance from BMW. These prices simply cannot be competitive in India as long as GST is a mess......

Very smart move by bmw and on road price in mumbai is just 52 lakhs almost 6 lakhs cheaper than the equivalent ICE model , buyers would definitely not hesitate to spend an extra 10-12 lakhs for the brand value , and single handedly boost bmw’s ev sales

Smart move by BMW, definitely a trend setter for other competitors, plus competing with the EV6 and the Ioniq5, BMW will benefit from this strategy, but there are definitely some cost cutting steps taken, like the weaker FWD powertrain, subscription packages, and no heated/ventilated seats, no rear seat climate zone, no rear window window blinders, etc, will be interesting as to how it performs on market

Interesting. In 2019 I bought my first BMW, an X3 G01 and the exshowroom was 58L (got a 2.5L Discount on it though) and now the X1 is in almost similar price bracket. Well atleast this is electric but still its an X1....

Don't agree with the highway stability comment, didn't feel planted at high speeds. Bumps and small pot holes at high speeds were severely felt on the steering wheel and most importantly the steering wheel didn't stiffen up at 3 digit speeds.

8:28 my 2016 F48 2 litre x drive 20d X1 can do 0-100 in 7.6 sec. As an EV I believe this should be quicker than the ICE counterpart

Perfect pricing, good space. But, #BMW and #Mercedes need to revised their infotainment styling as touchscreens or big screens has consumed more power than analog ones also very complicated to use on the go. Instead of big screens they should give some useful features like ventilated seats and rear entertainment screens or massage seats. Good review though Gavin sir.

@@sachinmalik24 does your phone die after one year when warranty period is over? Or does your car engine die after warranty expires? 8 year is a standard warranty period for worst case scenario. Battery will keep working fine with a reduced overall range. By all means it will outlast rest of the car.

@@punc1214 thats my concern what happens after 8 years when battery will loose its normal range, phone is not as much costly as this car one can easily change it after 4-5 years of use, but this car is expensive no one can't just throw it away after it battery life dies.

@sachinmalik24 don't be paranoid about this. There will be some battery degradation and you will lose some range. Let's say instead of 500 kms now you will get 400-450. It will take lot of time for battery to go redundant. New studies have shown that ev batteries might last more than what was predicted.

I was about to buy a 5 series but later came to know a lot of features were missing in the Indian variant ... Better look? Comparing cars in different segments makes no sense. The mahindra's quality is no where close and this drives so much better. It is simply better and at 49 lacs kills all EV's under 1 Cr. It has got more space on the inside and is a better car overall. It's a BMW friend, new BMW's are very reliable and kill the Be6. You are the type of guy that cries- i20 is better than Merc e class because it is 1/8th price and has ventilated seats lmfao
