Do it Eddie! You will have my dream garage before me and in reverse order. I have a ‘24 CT5-V Blackwing with the manual for just over a year now, and absolutely love it. Next purchase for its garage mate will be a C8 Z06. Both cars are best of their breeds, IMO, and if you can afford it, it’s worth it. Just finished the V-Performance Academy at Spring Mountain, and really got to see what these cars can do on the track. They are phenomenal on the track especially for being a 4-door luxury sedan. I was also really impressed with the durability these cars have. The car I drove for 2 days on the track was a ‘21 with 12k miles on it. It spent its entire life getting the snot beat out of it on the track for over 3 years and 12k miles, and it literally drove and looked like new. Not even a rattle or weird noise or feeling. I know it was impeccably maintained by the facility, but still, I was impressed, especially since these cars are often driven in 120+ degree heat in the Nevada summers.

I agree: those new Chinese BMWs have lost track of what makes BMW a BMW, because by prioritizing Chinese market preferences (shiny "mood" lights, gaudiness, tabletosis, etc:) BMW has squandered its priceless legacy. It is just another car now, and being grossly overweight, overcomplicated and overpriced doesn't help.

Eddie, great review. Love your enthusiasm for the car. My best friend was one of the lead engineers on this car. He said there were a lot of sleepless nights for he and his team getting it right. I have a Radiant Red CT5 V Blackwing on order with a TPW of 12-9-24. I can't wait. I went with the 10 speed. I had the manual in my 6th gen ZL1 and although I enjoyed it, I was eager to test the A10 as I felt like I was missing out on what they were saying at the time was a transmission for the ages. And boy were they right. As engaging as that manual is and was for me, the A10 felt like an entirely different car. I feel like it makes the absolute best use of that LT4 powerband. It's just a brutally violent car through the rev range. With that said, if a Drift Metallic shows up at my dealer before my unit arrives even if it has the manual, I'm taking it. 😉🤫

How does the CT-5 Blackwing Precision compare to your Corvette Z06? Do you miss the low end torque in your Z06? Which car would you choose for a fun road car? Not factoring in 4-seats or storage.

I feel like the hood should have been made a bit more aggressive as to how much it hangs over the fenders, it looks a bit underwhelming it definitely would look better to accent cooling for the supercharger

These have some bearing issues I heard. I hope they resolve it by the end of the production run, but since these engines are hand built it will be expensive to recall them...and they produce only around 1500 units yearly, so the no of problem ones will be?

It's really disappointing to hear, that GM thought that it would be a good idea to only have 19's on that sled, instead of staggered 20's on the front, 22's in the rear
@EddieX7 күн бұрын
I don’t see any reason why they would need to go to larger diameter wheels…. 22s on a sedan is just silly.

@@EddieX With a sled like that, many men like myself would get some mod's done, and some power adders to increase the horsepower With more horsepower, you would need a larger tire, like say a 22, so you have more contact on the road
