That is a lot of car for the money. Loving the orange! While I’m not the biggest fan of EVs I can really appreciate what they’re doing to revitalize different brands and bring a bunch of new interior finishes and ideas instead of gloss black plastic everywhere.

Seriously, I really like this - the segment is heating up (two row crossover EVs with a more premium feel and less than premium price). Glad too that better more colorful paint and interior options are available....

Looks great, but I still think Cadillac needs to release these types of designs in the gas models. I'm not sure, besides meeting regulations, why these brands insist on more EVs when they don't sell as well.

True indeed they are really pushing EVs so hard. I don't think a lot of people want EVs rap if I have to charge my car for 20 minutes full charge and not enough EV stations. And can these car people make ventilated rear seats, I live in Florida. It's in the high 90s this week and for 8-9 months out of the year, it's warm.

Their EV designs look amazing even with their flaws, so futuristic and concept-car-ish imo. Their gas models NEED it, although I believe it’s already happening based on the spy shots of the upcoming facelifted Escalade.

Certain things about the design would have to change to fit the gas model and wouldn't be identical the light up front panel would need to removed for a real grill and tailpipes would need to be added etc.

I've heard that EVs aren't selling well so if I was interested I'd look for a deal. It seems that many folks today favor hybrids. As a women traveling alone I definitely don't want to plan my trip around charging stations. No do I want to wait for the car to charge.

I think it looks good as far as crossover EV's go, but I still can't really find any beauty in the form factor of crossovers. I will say though, I appreciate that GM keeps lowering the rooflines of their new models. I hope that becomes an industry trend.

Cadillac has for a long time done a plus-sized strategy. CTS was always bigger than the compact sedans it was priced to compete with, for example. This is almost Lexus RX sized. Kind of sized between the X3 and X5. They will surely market it as an alternative to other compact crossovers while also pumping up the space advantage.

I don't use my wireless charging for my iPhone. I prefer to plug it in via USBC. Direct link to the infotainment and direct charging are much faster.

With the sloped windshield I can't help thinking "cab forward design" from decades ago. Not a fan of the etching, and I'd rather have a corner window.

I like it mostly and is a perfect size. The interior looks like it feels cheap though, not much better than a Chevy. I'm not a fan of front wipers that wipe opposite of each other. It needs a power steering column and a button for close/lock on the tailgate.

It’s on the Ultium platform but I’d say it’s more closely related in size to the Equinox EV.

$54,000 a fully loaded XT4 costs less, has the same infotainment display (from the Lyriq) and isn't burdened with the public charging infrastructure. As a Lyriq owner, I love my car, but GM has not perfected the vehicle's firmware and a glitch sends it right back to service. I want Cadillac Optiq, Lyriq, Vistiq and Escaladeiq to do well, but they're gonna have a hard time moving EV over their perfectly good regular-unleaded-sipping-v6.

So, Cadillac didn't setup the Optiq with a rear permanent-magnet motor and front induction motor (making it a rear wheel drive bias AWD system) and took the easy way out, which is what I fear would happen, it uses, the Equinox EV AWD setup, front permanent-magnet motor and rear induction motor (making it a front wheel drive bias AWD system), if they want to take on the world's premium and luxury brands, the Equinox EV setup is fine for what it is, the Optiq needs to be more

​@@MattMaranMotoring Well for starters where its built, GM has way to many non American models in thier lineups, Buick isn't American at all having only 1 vehicle built in the US the rest overseas. As for Cadillac my issue is one leadership is all politics and government show, and second them completely ditching what a Cadillac is which is why they've rebranded Cadillac 3 times in 10 years and are still trying to find its place. Even trying to move to NYC to try and fit in (then back to Warren Mi within 2 years), Cadillac isn't what it once was thus no one wants one. You can hardly tell these EVs are Cadillacs outside of the rear lighting, "German" sports cars ARE NOT CADILLAC'S EITHER. You will never see RR or Bentley changing everything their brands are to fit in. Nobody cross shopping those cars would even think of buying a modern Cadillac where I feel at one point they would have. They need to return to big classy sedans THIER ROOTS with modern but heritage styling to get back on course. GM has over 14 2 row SUVs in thier lineups for what? Like I said this is not the AMERICAN Cadillac I once knew and I'm only 31. People roast the Art and science area of Cadillac's yet IMO those were the best Cadillacs made in my lifetime. You took original Cadillac and threw in a little sporty vibe for a unique package. Now you either get overpriced EVS, wanna be German sports cars, and sad and sloppy family SUVS. None of that is Cadillac.
