Thanks John! Appreciate your kind words. You’re right a lot of work and thought goes into my videos and our live streams but we do it because we genuinely enjoy it. I try as always to give a fair and balanced assessment but overall positive view to encourage potential buyers to think about EVs in general 🙏

Tom I also had the car for a week and will have a review out shortly. While it had some strong points there were a few show-stoppers in there that you glossed over or didn't explore, for example the lane-keeping functions I felt was unusable (30 seconds on the M2 isn't enough to try it), the audio had no control whatsoever over tone or balance, when using Nav if the car thought you were over the limit it beeped incessantly at you, even with all speed-related alerts turned off. Steering feel and feedback was dull and lifeless, and many other gripes. Lots of things could be fixed with OTA, but the car didn't support OTA so it'll have to be back to dealer for the (essential) updates it needs. Lots of glitches in software design, the means of adjusting Regen totally impractical, screens hard to use for basic functions. Overall good value for money but would I buy one? Not a chance.

Yes, just have to fiddle the plastic cover a bit. But need small fingers to get to the bonnet release. Hardly worth the effort though - tiny storage in front only big enough to put your charge lead in anyway.

Looks pretty decent and would really suit buyers in that price bracket. I recently took a #3 Brabus for a test drive on my latest trip back to Aus a couple of weeks ago. The Brabus mode is so ridiculous and pointless but I love it haha 😂 It could be a real licence killer if you aren’t careful, but so addictive. I think it has gone to the top of my list for driving dynamics and I really like the styling and interior. The only slight drawback is the range is a bit low, but more than manageable. I would have loved to have that golf club to try in the boot, they only had an empty golf bag at the Merc dealership in Brisbane for me to try. It’s the driver that adds the length to it so it’s a good idea to have to demonstrate the size 🙂
@LudicrousFeed2 ай бұрын
I enjoyed the #3 during the Smart media day but of course it’d be unfair to compare it to the Omoda given the price premium 😅 - I’ll try to use the driver as my yardstick moving forward

Took one for a rest drive two weeks ago. It was the premium model. It drove well. Weird that if you are charging you can’t access the frunk (or you can if you’re very careful).

No heat pump as standard, drum rear brakes, you need to pay for a V2L adapter, the ADAS system beeps and bongs way too much, needs a lot of re calibration, and its built on an ice vehicle platform. Sunroof is only available on the top grade The Atto 3 represents better value for money. The only thing this vehicle has going for it is the full size spare tyre, if this is a major concern for some buyers.
@LudicrousFeed2 ай бұрын
Hmm interesting about the heat pump not being standard ... hard to search a bit harder for the info! I suppose the top trim is still cheaper than the Atto 3 ER 🤔

Unfortunate, no dead zone between brake pedal and foot rest so for a tall driver like me can't stretch out my left leg like I can with my Kona or any Hyundai/Kia. No real buttons all haptics. Is there a frunk of any sort? If not another negative for me at least. Wireless charging I find to be useless is most cars all it does is heat up the phone charges VERY slowly. No regen paddles either. I see it has the eye watcher as well so a real pain unless you can turn it off permanently but suspect not and only for the current drive. Much prefer the interior of the Atto 3 personally, I like the quirkiness of it not boring like most cars or conservative interior.
@LudicrousFeed2 ай бұрын
There’s a frunk albeit small. There’s a vent on the wireless charger and so far the phone hasn’t been too hot using Waze this week. The fact that regen reverts back to 1 for each drive is odd and hopefully this can be fixed in a future update

I hate to rain on this parade but, seriously this is not a competitive product, software with no route planning for charging is ridiculous, 80 kw charging is far too slow , waste of time, at 46kw at a Tesla charger I mean really that's rubbish, uncompetitive, charging port on the front , totally stupid. Driving stalks on the wrong side, BYD does it Correctly no excuse there Also , Although Tesla used to stick them on the left , And the software looks like it's not properly developed, I don't think this product has been thought through enough for the International market. Tesla has this area sewn up and even they are not doing everything right, two-step forwards one step back aka stalk removal for one . Anyway just a few of my thoughts. I just really want them to get this right and they're not doing it. regards John
@LudicrousFeed2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your thoughts and for sure if those issues with the front charge port and indicator stalks are a deal breaker then thankfully there is the Atto 3 for a few more $thousand. If you want to spend up to $10-$15k more then the Model 3/Y is there also with a more refined product but I do understand those who may not necessarily want to buy a Tesla. In this review I’m trying to keep the comparisons at this discrete price range to give buyers options 👍
