For me, The Substance’s biggest Critics Choice snub was Editing. It’s gonna have to knock out September 5 to snag an Oscar nom. The others are just too heavy of hitters to knock out of that category. Have you guys also considered that if The Substance WINS Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars, it’ll be the first film in history to win the Cannes award in the same category? That’s insanely awesome.

The Substance’s editing far exceeds that of Challengers, which is on the CC list. Agree that other films are heavy hitters, and overall well edited. September 5’s editing is also great, and may even put on the bubble for a BP nom.

Dune 2 got ten. 2nd biggest haul. Y'all blew it & Deni V off. A Complete Unknown isn't going anywhere. It's not a biopic. It's a slice of life at a particular pivotal time in history. Where music was at the forefront of pushing social justice reform into the mainstream. Bob led the way. Then went his own way. Fracturing folk music & it's instrumental influence.

Love the channel fellas. Keep it coming! But also, why wouldn’t you have Berger on your Oscar prediction list? The Academy loves him. And they’re not gonna go with an all male batch. It’s gonna be Baker, Corbet, Berger, Fargeat and Ross -as it should be. Chu will get “snubbed,” but Wicked will take Production design, costuming and possibly cinematography, although I think we’ll start to see The Brutalist start to win in that category once we get rolling. last 3 years (since oscars have done 10 noms) they’ve been 8/10, 7/10, 9/10. so i’d say they’ve got a solid 8 or 9 here, a real pain likely to sneak in over complete unknown imo
