I've owned and exclusively driven EV's since 2012, first was a P85 Tesla Model S, then a P100D Model S, along with a 2020 Tesla Model Y, and lastly a 2020 Taycan 4S along with a 2023 Rivian R1S. (Yes, I am thankful and blessed to have owned a few really great cars!) I am only responding to these comments to state some facts from a long time exclusively EV driver. All of my cars have had far fewer maintenance or repair issues than any ICE vehicle I've owned and I've owned many-Porsche/BMW/Lexus/Infiniti/Mazda/Cadillac/Mercedes Benz are just a few. The Taycan has 37,000 miles over 4 years and has been bulletproof, no major mechanical issues, low maintenance (tire replacement), you don't even have to change brake pads for 6 years due to regenerative braking assist which helps charge the battery. Most people have a really poor understanding and fear of EV's and range anxiety and inconvenience of charging infrastructure are the biggest obstacles to adoption, this is what affects resale value of EV's. Battery life is a non-issue as most batteries degrade so slowly they will last hundreds of thousands of miles with very little loss of range. Charging for me has been done at home 99% of the time and is super convenient as I have a full "tank" every morning. I have driven all over the west coast and you simply plan using in car navigation, stop to charge for 30-40 minutes and continue on your journey. This takes longer than gas refills, but EV travel is cheaper and has been just as enjoyable, if not more so, as you take more time to "smell the roses" on your journey. This will probably be my next car as nothing drives like a Porsche, as the saying goes "There is no substitute."

18:40 The same bits are available on all the models. This isn't specific to the Turbo. You may have gotten the GT wheel and 18-way seats in the Turbo, but those are available on the Macan 4 as well as a line-item checkbox when you order.

Yes, I intend to drive this Macan EV that was forced upon me straight to the Lear Jet that was forced upon me , sipping the Dom Perignon that I was forced to purchase on my way to my luxury Monaco flat that I purchased at gun point. Thank God I was not press ganged into the British Navy. Cheers mate.

I've had a Macan S for 5 years, I don't know what to replace it with. This could be a good option, although a petrol version would be more desirable for me. Thanks for posting this review. Great work and good luck

I think the 4S with PTV Plus is the way to go. Anyone not optioning that is missing out on a more advanced differential that helps in cornering and then driving in inclement weather. Curious to know the depreciation curves on these vs. the Macan ICEV.

I love the Macan, had ours 7 years and it’s been brilliant, still drives like a new car, think the EV will go the same way as the taycan , loose a fortune, if your a leasing waller don’t really matter, but wouldn’t sink my cash into one, the depreciation of that will pay for a lot of gas, V6 petrol sound 😘

Interest review Lee. I like these new video reviews you’re sharing 👍 For me, I’m sticking with ICE Macan mainly because I prefer the shape and extra size of the rear. They designed the EV on coupe style which means less dog & carrying space in boot.

SUV’s are a good platform for EV. Keep the Porsche sports cars ICE. Something to note. Here in the U.S. The adaptive air suspension is standard equipment on the Macan 4 -smiles11

Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything - this EV is innovative and different in every way to the ICE Macan. It is not expensive for what it is though because of cheap Chinese EVs and mixed messages from Government it may take a few years for its true quality to be recognised.

Have to disagree with EV hater dialogue in some of these response. You can see an emotional response but look past that and the proposition is very appealing. I still remain a lover of the flat 6 but also appreciate the humbling power and driving dynamics or modern EV. Add to that a cost of £4.16 to fill up overnight and you’d be foolish in sticking to the ice dogma

Depends in length of ownership. The eight year battery warranty is nice and there will not be any transfer case issue on this BEV. For used older car buyers, an ICEV may be cheaper to maintain when the battery pack fails.

@@flashsushi1843 The reason the battery pack warranties are much longer than you'll get on an ICE drivetrain is that they don't fail nearly as often as an ICE drivetrain. Fleet data is showing that all but the very first (non liquid cooled) EV batteries will outlast the car.

Love your reviews, my favourite Porsche channel by a distance! Just wondered what you thought of the looks? It looks less Porsche than any other model to my eyes, and I much prefer the overall aesthetic of the ICE model. Maybe over time that will change?

I have to say it’s not a looker at all. It certainly doesn’t look like an expensive/luxury vehicle from the outside. The ICE Macan is far more sculptural, and has real presence with its gentle curves.

Well Lee, what a surprise seeing you testing two Macan EVs ! Good for you, shows you are an open minded person, not that I had any doubts about that. These two beast are obviously very good cars. Personally, were I to buy an EV (I doubt it, but who knows !) it wouldn’t be a Porsche. Probably a Volvo. Considering the present dire situation of the VW group, and according to confirmed rumors of another journalistic source I regularly follow, Porsche seems to be of a mind to reintroduce an ICE version of the Macan, probably along side the EV versions. This may of course just be hear say, but it’s something to keep an eye for. After all, the Taycan sales have plummeted, and the car, however brilliant and exclusive it is, is wildly overpriced - but then, that is just the Porsche way, isn’t it ! Not that many clients, however enthusiastic they may be, are willing to pay astronomical prices for an EV. And sales, or more specifically lack of them, prove this. Of course, the Chinese productions haven’t helped any of this. So in conclusion, the EV Macans could be in a delicate position. As always, time will tell ! 😎

Unfortunately what you won't hear and see is what really is happening at Porsche main dealer service workshop's.......where l can tell you these thhings are already having multiple issues just like another Porsche EV that will remain nameless. If you read this and still go ahead and buy one dont say you haven't been warned or speak to a Porsche technician confidentially and they will confirm what im saying.

@Simcat-8222 this information came to me from the Manchester Porsche service centre technicians ( I obviously can't reveal more than that ) but my friend revealed to my as of a few weeks ago they are seeing them coming in for warranty issues already. My advice would be to do diligent research to avoid expensive frustration. Unless things have changed recently even the Taycan was being sold at around a 50K LOSS to porsche by the main dealers to hit the EU EV mandated sales targets, that says a lot about the issues porsche are having with these models let alone another new EV model, I'm only sharing this knowledge to maybe save someone heart break.
