GT350R is my 2025 purchase over the gt500 for the reasons you stated!
@KarlBrauerCars24 күн бұрын
That’s the car. Seriously, just the dynamics alone make the $60,000-$70,000 GT350R “the” car. Now throw in the flat-plane-crank engine and it’s all over for anything else (including the $325,000 GTD, in my not-so-humble opinion).
@TD-04727 күн бұрын
Karl great job on the break down. I agree the 350 is truly a fun car. I can feel the weight in the 350 though compared to something like a 991.2 3 RS. That difference is about the same as the 350 to the 500 ironically. I think the GTD will be 3800. The SC alone is a pig and its high up making you really feel the extra LBS. Hell a 100lb ski box and rack feel like lot more because of the CG. I gotta disagree on the 10yr old chassis statement. The reason the GTD is because the chassis is different. The entire rear and the transaxle is huge. Also the front uses some bespoke bits and bobs. Yet it retains the basic K member. I do agree the center tub is the same S550 pan, but there are a ton of changes to pick-up points. I'm not sure if Multi is adding the extra pan braces as the GT3. That would be a nice bonus if the are. Thanks again for the break down.

they send the s650 steel chassis, factory doors and engine block to multimatic in canada. the chassis gets modified but it's still a boat anchor which is the problem.

@@blackberrythorns probably 600 lbs heavier than the current RS.

Funny you say that. I’ll admit to having dreams of investing $100,000 in my Demon 170, making it a GTD killer, and pocketing the extra $100,000...

@cephasmakuzva28 күн бұрын
@KarlBrauerCars oh 100% absolutely. How they managed to do that to that muscle car is incredible. Something that wasn't exactly as aerodynamic as possible. Thats an unbelievable time to lap in. On par with an amg gt black series.

And they set that time on a damp track , very cold day with high winds is crazy
@KarlBrauerCars23 күн бұрын
Wouldn’t the cold help the engine make more power?
@rdeh167823 күн бұрын
@KarlBrauerCars actually no , it may help for 1hp in the engine but the cold air effects the level of grip the tires have on the track itself makings traction very poor , not to mention the track was damp in most parts and wet in other parts , Also it was windy that day as well . L
@rdeh167824 күн бұрын
The ford gtd set that time on a wet track in the wind on a cold day , another thing is only 10 % of the gtd is mustang the rest is 90% totally different,
@KarlBrauerCars24 күн бұрын
Far more than 10% of this car is standard Mustang. The engine alone (straight from the GT500) makes it more than 10%.
