They didn’t address the main problem apparently. The 1.5 liter is totally under powered for this type of car. I went to try a 2024 with 2 friends and with 4 adult (there was also the guy of the showroom) inside was borderline dangerous. A car like this has to have minimum 200 something horsepower. Also CR-V petrol engine is not enough but somehow better. The only 2 real alternatives are CR-V and RAV4 hybrid in this segment

Not crazy about the big screen. It’s like they designed the car around a monitor. I like technology, but it detracts from the look of a typical dash board. Plus with it being so low, there’s more of a chance for inadvertently scratching it.

Gone are the days to buy an affordable crossover. To think this car can reach $40k in price is amazing to me. And its because people demand all these features to be standard, which raises your base price by $10k. A vehicle like this should start in the low 20's.

Looks amazing. Funny that people keep bitching about the engine. It's a compact SUV. You're not gonna be drag racing or towing motorhomes with it. 🤪 Just saying that it's not a deal-breaker for most folks who drive this type of vehicle and is sufficient for everyday use. But that said, yeah I hope they offer a beefier option down the road. Overall, I like it and think it will sell very well.

The thing won't be able to get out of its own way. My 20 year old compact suv has 220 without the turbo lag and inherent reliability issues. Add that to the CVT and you are scraping the bottom of the barrel for reliability.

Delusional. I’ve never seen people pretend something looks so terrible simply because it’s large. I’ve also never seen a tablet with a dial inside the screen nor with buttons along the bottom. They’ve certainly made this more intuitive than just gluing a vertical screen into the dash like Stellantis and Ford.

Thanks for the video. Do you know if this model will have the same fuel pump module thats been failing in most of the 2016-2023 models? There's actually a current class action suit against GM for the Terrains and Acadias that have the fuel pump module failure issue. It happens on most GM vehicles from what I've seen (Trucks, SUVs, etc.). There's even tow truck haulers on YT here that do videos where they talk about the number of GM vehicles they tow every month to the dealer for this exact issue. Until I know they've resolved the issue, I wont be buying a GM product. For them (General Motors) to let it go on for so long, stranding their customers is pretty pathetic. I currently own a GMC Sierra but its a 2007. Thanks again!

Once the fuel pump fails, the push button tranny cannot even be shifted into neutral. A true nightmare. But they sell very well here in Texas.

I am the exact customer for these two row SUVs. Plus I really like the direction GMC has taken in the design. But a Korean built, tiny hamster wheel turbo 1.5 liter dragging around 3700+ lbs? Only rated to tow 1500lbs? We'd be lucky to see an 80k mile lifespan. Come out with at least a 2 liter or more, preferably a hybrid, and I'd reconsider them, GM.

Doesn't make me a Latte, completely unpurchaseable. It's 2024 it should be able to make me a starbucks drink to my exact specifications while telling me how special I am. On a serious note, I really like the squared off upright interior and like many others dont care much for the large screen but appreciate the inclusion of physical switches for Fudds like me. Overall this Terrain feels more like a direct replacement for the old Acadia more than the new Acadia does in terms of exterior and interior styling. Speaking of, much like with the new 24 Acadia and Traverse, I prefer the exterior styling of the new Equinox, but the interior of the Terrain. Given that 90% of the time I will be inside the car instead of outside looking at it, all other things the same I will take the Terrain. GMC just has more practical and better looking interiors. I am not concerned about the 1.5l being powerful enough. 175hp is enough to move something of this size to highway speeds in reasonable time. It's obviously not a racecar. I had similar concerns about the 224hp 2.0l turbo in my 22 Acadia, and then I drove it, and those concerns vanished. Again, it's not a racecar, but it has no issue moving 4000lbs to highway speed with ease. As for reliability, it's a GM product, so expect GM reliability. If you are comfortable with less than Toyota or Honda, it will probably be fine. It can't be worse than Stellantis. Edit: One big complaint on the exterior styling I will give, the Elevation should have body matched or gloss black trim and the AT4 should have plastic. That gloss on the AT4 is going to take a beating from the dirt and stones the All Terrains will toss, even if it never goes offroad. A/Ts pick up every small stone on the road and send it right into your wheel well, rocker, or the guy behind you. The ugly black plastic will ironically hold up better over time.

Base model?!? This elevation equipped well enough where you don’t really have to get the Denali. It looks stealthy but also premium and has the features of a fully loaded Denali. Its very Acadia like which is not a bad thing, and when you compare it to the premium of vehicles segment this is a steal for most. GMC did they’re A game on this.

It's a real shame they put such an anemic engine in this. I love everything but the engine, which single handedly pulls it off my short list for the wife's new vehicle. This tiny engine will be way to stress with the turbos if you do ANYTHING more than getting groceries. No thanks.

@G-Rated the 1.5 debuted in 2016 with the malibu, my first vehicle, had a few too many issues. Power was ok, for a midsized sedan. Sure the engine was brand new and unproven, you would imagine all the quirks would be fixed by now. Unfortunately, I know a few too many mechanics, some that work at gm dealerships too know the 1.5 is awfully unreliable to this day. Now, having it placed inside the new equinox, sure, it's a base entry vehicle, there are a few things you can do to maintain it to prevent it major issues and hopefully by then have a budget to move on to a better vehicle. The gmc terrain should offer if not have the 2.0 as standard similar to the envision and xt4.

GMC knocked another redesign out of the park! Competition can’t keep up with their design language to compete so people try attacking the engine sizes of *gm’s* small economy vehicles as if folks shopping in this segment are buying to race. Most of you in the comments are going to scratch your heads at the success of the new Equinox and Terrain. Despite what naysayers think, *gm* has done their homework. These are going to sell like hotcakes on Sunday after church!

@G-Rated umm 175hp CVT. Doesn't get that bad unless you go back to the early 2000s. This thing can't get out of its own way and will be extremely unreliable. Nothing fake about the weaker drivetrain. That's real bud.

I like the styling of the new year model. The 2019 spaceship design wasn’t it. Glad they decided to make the tiny rear windows bigger, though still way too much plastic inside to make them useful

@nwing07__ The RAV4 has 203 HP at 6600 rpm, not the most useful for a SUV and less torque the the Terrain. The CRV has 190 HP and less torque. These vehicles aren't drag racers.

I do not like the big screen and how everything is integrated to it. Less physical knobs and buttons than in the previous generation. Screens can fail, especially during winter, and with this vehicle you could lose all your radio and climate controls.

it was really nice until you went to the interior, we need to STOP gluing tablets to the dash! Sick of these horribly ugly infotainment systems. It's a total deal breaker, would HATE to look at that every day...

Agreed! I avoid vehicles that have the tablet screen. I also hate that physical buttons like headlight switches ate being put into the screen. I want all physical controls

yeah I guess automobile designers don't know how to blend things in the interior. flow - fluidity, people like that as opposed to the in your face, sticks out like a sore thumb. and nix sunroofs and panaramic sunroofs. let those be optional, more glass tends to generate more heat. oh and it be nice if those infotainment screens had covers _ just a thought.
