Yes let it begin! To start I will just be installing what seems to be ancient Lowrance ti2 7 from my last pro anglers. I do plan on adding a Newport motor eventually and a power pole.

@ new port is not battery proprietary which is good and the prices include motor and battery, it is almost close to Torqueedo 1103 ultra light adventure package. Do your diligence reach and review on both motors. I did my researched and reviewed what other kayak anglers

What motor they put on their kayak pro and con, and I decided to go with the Torqueedo 1103 ultralight adventure package. Good luck.

They need to put a hatch under the seat for battery storage idk why they don’t do that. I want to put my 100ah battery inside the kayak so it’s protected… they dropped the ball by not doing that and then they got rid of the bucket in the front which I like
@SteegeFish3 күн бұрын
I think that’s a good idea for a battery hatch under the seat. Honestly I’m ok with them removing the bucket. With the electronic mounting plate inside I pretty much makes the front one big storage compartment. And they give you the center hatch storage bucket which I use way more.

I have the Ike one and I would like to get the new 2025 one but do you think it is worth upgrading?
@SteegeFish4 күн бұрын
If you want to be able to mount your motors and power poles easier and you don’t have an XR model with the drive well improvements I would say yes. If you already have all the aftermarket mounts for them I would say no.

This is not a redesign. This is to catch up to their competition who have jumped ahead of Hobie with mounts and electronics rigging. They just added things to a hull design that is 7 years old to "match" the competition and the changes are not that great. They are behind the curve on rigging options. They are also up for sale again for the 4rd time in 4 years.

@@Sporkuser Sure, you could call it a mild update that’s long overdue. I agree with that in fact I said it in the video. No need for a drastic complete redesign in my opinion. I do hope they get their finances sorted out so they can keep making great products. If you think about it it’s been almost the exact same kayak for nearly 15 years with minor updates here and there. I’m curious, What kayak are you fishing out of now?

@@SteegeFish I fish out of 4 kayaks, one is a PA12 360. I don't hate on Hobie, they just got lazy and thought their stuff was better than everyone else's and got passed by. They have some catching up to do. Here's to hoping their new owners can lower the price and make good improvements.

@@Sporkuser sounds like a good fleet! Good news is 2025 prices are already coming down a few hundred bucks on the lynx and outback

$6000 and no front storage bucket that they know everyone wants so they can sell it to you later is why I will never buy a Hobie👎🏻 If I won one I would sell it because I would be embarrassed to use it
@SteegeFish4 күн бұрын
They actually removed it to make the front hatch seal better because people were complaining of water entering. They give you the center hatch storage bucket and the electronic mounting plate instead. I’ve taken my hatch bucket out of most of my pro anglers for fishing in the gulf to help prevent any water entry so I’m not bothered. Thank for watching and commenting anyway even if it was just to express your Hobie hate. Good luck out there!

@@SteegeFishHobie was greedy before and the private equity group led by executives from Maynards Industries buying them out will take the greed to a new level! Hobie knew all there front hatches leaked and instead of a redesign they gave an extra gasket for the top lid and made the lid sit too high! Stop throwing your money at greedy companies and the products will get better and cheaper

I’ve been fishing out of a Hobie since 2014 and don’t plan on changing it up anytime soon. I’ve been extremely happy with all of my Kayaks from them. The good thing is there are choices out there for everyone and you can choose what ever works best for you. What do you fish out of?
