Did you just do an EV review without mentioning the range spans it comes in?
@Greg-R2 ай бұрын
I got to say, VW must be telling the “reviewers” to not talk about the battery, range or charging speed as most videos I’ve seen barely talk about it or omit it entirely. Very disappointing to see from a EV website. Pretty much everyone talks about the storage capacity but not the important EV stuff. I was beyond excited to see the ID Buzz hit the road but VW ID line up has been so disappointing. Hopefully they don’t kill this project and eventually a second generation version will have better range, charging speed, maybe NACS support and more technology for better parking and highway assistance as this is a great looking road trip car but lacking the elements it needs to be.

@@Greg-R Yes, because for a lot of people, nothing mentioned in the review matters if the range is short and the charging is slow.

I searched the website in the description. Range is about 230 miles for all versions.
@Greg-R2 ай бұрын
@@LeDechaine yeah I saw that, very disappointing for a vehicle you want to put miles on etc. I can see why VW and these KZbinrs aren’t mentioning it as for a relatively expensive vehicle it should have 300 miles honestly. At least I think that would be easier to swallow. Especially in the North American market where people drive more than those in Europe.

I like that they show how easily you can remove the 3rd row. When you do that the cargo area on this is awesome. This is essentially a very cool and expensive minivan. I’m guessing many of the buyers will be older not really need a third row. I look at this thing and see all of the 2x4s I can fit in it or something really big with that 3rd row out. The interior is very cool looking with the only problem being all of the asinine VW haptic and slider controls. Too expensive for too much range for people who don’t care and just want a cool practical car and have plenty of money. This will turn head in a whole different way from the cybertruck.

3 drawbacks; #1 poor range with small battery packs for $70K. #2 no heat pump, expect poorer range in winter, perhaps in 160 miles per a charge. #3 autonomy not on par with Tesla’s FSD. My verdict; an emotional vehicle that missed on important features. After the initial excitement dies down, I expect ID Buzz will be heavily discounted.

Nice EV, but price is too high and range too low.

Lets be real about the ID BUZZ, VW had misjudged their aims by trying to replicate the NewBeetle formula, but with a 2 tonne 5 seat luxury SUV-Van that lacks the comforts of an upmarket SUV and the basic practicality of a minivan/mpv. In Europe it took a few years for the new entry level Short Wheel Base to arrive and it starts from €50,000 and with only 5 seats when there's clearly room for a front row 2+1 bench and a 3rd row... VW (executives) have absolutely shot themselves in the foot, again.

🚗 I used to worry about range…. Until I got a fully electric car (real world 185 mi range). Now I don’t worry at all! Unless you are cross-country 50 days a year, it is not an issue at all! (And that will be solved in a couple of years) (Spoken from the privilege of charging at home - my sibling in a townhouse doesn’t have the luxury of guaranteed overnight charger access )

As long as VW targets this as a 'luxury vehicle' (as per some of their early PR commentary), I think the market will not ve lind in terms of sales. It would ve so nice if they would bring the commercial version and the low end short wheel base to North America.

That's the very problem! Making this thing a NewBeetle "luxury vehicle".

VW has said they will not be doing it but I believe there are aftermarket conversion options in EU - only a matter of time before the US market does get them as well

Sorry VW. My wife was excited about looking into one. I told her absolutely NOT! The price. No spare tire because the front and rear are different sizes! No way!

No front bench or 3rd row either for SWB. Maybe in another 2 years the depreciation will strip away the ridiculous profit gouging
