Indian just makes really beautiful and fast machines- on a ride on my Chief Bobber I stopped at a lookout above Borrego Springs here in the SoCal desert and a 75 yr old lady walked up and just loved it- she told me when she was a little girl Indians were the bike to have because they were just fast and beautiful looking, she was so happy that Indian still exists- I get that often, not that Harley isn’t also beautiful but people love to see these Indian bikes

This review helped a lot. Saving to get my first road bike and the Bobber look is beautiful. They ALL are. I've always enjoyed the look of the Indians. I come from a motocross background from the time I was a young kid, but never got a road bike as an adult. I'm nearing that moment finally at almost 41, haha. Your in depth review really gave me a lot of knowledge for the other scouts. I'm thinking I'll need the 3" rear suspension and less forward body posture due to permanent back & neck injuries from the past. I'm 5'11 and only slightly heavier, so I think all the analysis you provided should be pretty spot-on for me. What beautiful bikes Indian produces... thanks for the video. 👍🏼

I test rode a sport scout a couple days ago and at stop lights, my thighs were getting cooked! That was my first time on a scout, so I am trying to figure out if it being 90 degrees outside was a bigger issue or if something was wrong with that bikes cooling or if that’s just how these bikes are. I have a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 now and obviously smaller engines don’t get as hot, but I’m trying to get an idea what is normal on a bigger V-twin that is liquid cooled. What was your experience with the engine heat in your riding it?
@BrandonBicasso5 ай бұрын
Heat wasn’t an issue for me. I’ve been vocal about it on the previous gen but I felt it was better on the ‘25. I haven’t ridden it in 90+ degrees yet either, however. Larger displacement engines will produce more heat even with liquid cooling. Part of the cooling is for temps and producing more performance. Emissions play a factor with the exhaust too causing heat with the catalytic converters.
@hunterbunn14045 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the really good feedback. I love these bikes and the original scout bobber is what originally even caught my interest to the world or motorcycling. By comparison: How does the steel frame tubing feel over the aluminum? Can you feel a difference? Historically the aluminum being a softer metal absorbs vibration over the steel. Hence the reason high end mountain bicycles are aluminum. What are your thoughts? My 22 Scout Bobber ABS Icon is aluminum and I want to move up to the newer 101, just need to wait until Indian works out all of the bugs. My bobber still has the stick seat and suspension so, it’s very bumpy. When I travel on the highway, I use extra caution. I’ve almost been thrown off.

Hey Brandon, great Video. Answered a lot of my concerns. Fact is I am really into scout 101. The only thing is, you and the other guys mentioned "stalling" quite often at the beginning of the vid. Now is that a preproduction problem and is it solved now. Buying a bike that has known technical or mechanical issues is...well... questionable at best. Do you have more details on that? Thx again for the great content. U doing a great job. Easy to understand and great eye for details
@BrandonBicasso8 ай бұрын
I don't have more info on that, unfortunately. Someone present mentioned that it can happen on the FTR as well but doesn't after the bike is up to operating temperature. My guess is possibly the tuning on the clutch was at the edge of the friction zone and maybe involved the clutch assist. At operating temps, all the metal expands so less likely to happen. Other than the few mishaps, I had no issues with it but worth noting.

@BrandonBicasso8 ай бұрын
It feels similar to a FTR engine, but the chassis setup makes it a different experience. You sit more over the engine on FTR and fuel under you versus the engine and fuel in front of you on Scout. Both are rev-happy engines, but Scout is geared towards chill riding too with Super/Scout Classic. This gear ratio helps with not having to shift as early so that helps with that chill experience if you want it. Or.. ya know.. rev it out.

@@BrandonBicasso that’s my worry. These are all so new that everyone keeps talking about them comparatively - which makes sense - but the suspension is talked so badly for it. @BrandonBicasso6 ай бұрын
I bought a Bobber in 2017 and was content with it. The suspension upgrade wasn't worth it to me then. Now, I'd consider it. If you can afford it, consider the upgrade after enjoying the bike a bit. There are more options available than when I bought mine. Also, you can get the adjustable rear suspension off 101 Scout no issues. You got options at least, but 2" suspension for the Bobber look is def part of what makes it... it.

@BrandonBicasso8 ай бұрын
Scout has more top end, less weight so it will outrun a Chief. Also, Scout makes most of its power at 7500rpm. You're shifting Chief at 5400rpm so you're still pulling on Scout. Different kind of ride, but a Chief would come off the line crazy strong with the torque and taper off. (stock anyway) I prefer my Chief tho. I like the torque and Thunderstroke character.

Brandon, I averaged 58 MPG on steady interstate riding at roughly 70 MPH on a 2020 Scout Bobber Twenty. So.. MPG I suspect really isn't going to be different here. Average overall on the old Bobber was 46-48 MPG with mixed riding.

Not on these type of rides. Media and press only. There's other rides with the Indian owner groups though.

Awesome video and review as always- own a 101 600 miles in the UK still stalls with clutch pulled in :( so frustrating. Indian have no answer / fix . Just cuts out in traffic etc. Only answer was - not designed to blip on down shift. 😂
@BrandonBicasso5 ай бұрын
That clutch assist and lighter crank contributes to that unfortunately 🥴 It will stall while in neutral sometimes.

100% needs a re tune - As you have , owned a 2018 bobber and it was rock steady for 10k @@BrandonBicasso

And I still don’t know which way to go with it…. I’m a short rider that’s in the market for a 1st bike that I can grow with. (I still drive my 1st car. It might be a sentimental thing). And I love the look of all of them on video and I’m probably going to sit on a couple tomorrow to see if that helps. But the amount of honest feedback is definitely appreciated.
@BrandonBicasso6 ай бұрын
Best thing for you to do is go sit on them. I give my feedback and try to show as much on camera to satisfy curiosity. Seeing them in person and touching them gives out a different feeling. You’re in the right direction even if Scout isn’t for you, but it’s tailored for short riders. Totally get the feelings!

It would be interesting to understand of the people coming in, how many would pay cash for their houses. Interest rates go up to slow the market but it's only effecting the people that already have loans and the handful of people that can actually afford to buy a place.

The new bobber line, doesn't trigger that "take my money" anymore. The old bobber instantly appeared to me in a way that I needed that bike. But these ones are just not the raw bobber that the previous one was. I am out Indian.

Make sure you've planned financially for the ride. Long distances require frequent stops. Bike trips are more expensive than one would expect if they've never done it before.

I seriously need to know what Indian plans for the Sport Chief, the Scout 101 is a really good deal compared to it.
@wickush64106 ай бұрын
They really are forcing you into that 101 or limited plus with that dual front brakes

They are. Strategic with the product offering.

Haven’t watched the whole video yet, but in theory if I want the 101 for its features, but all the Classic parts, fenders and rims etc, I could do parts swaps and it should work? EDIT: yep nvm he just said that lol.

@@BrandonBicassoI’m loving it. I’m actively trying to get one of these but no one else I’ve seen goes this far into the info. The interchangeability is the only answer I couldn’t find a definite answer for that so you’re doing more than most videos. Keep it up!

Torn between Bobber and Sport. I wonder why we can spec the batwing fairing on Bobber but cant spec it on Sport? I prefer this engine design over the old. I dont like any chrome or shiny bits on bikes at all. Give me a plain all black engine and bike, I'd be happy.
@BrandonBicasso7 ай бұрын
Interesting. I haven’t played with the combinations on the bike generator. Sport/101 use different upper triples from Classic, Super and Bobber. Might be the reason.

I’m 5’11” and I find the scout to be waaaay too physically small for me. If they just made it a bit bigger I would buy it.

My brother lived in SF for a few years (he doesn't recommend it), but yeah those hills are brutal. He tore that town up on his warrior 1700. All of that low end torque was very useful for hilly SF. BTW, excellent video!

Love the indian but the ride... they seriously ignored all the consumer comments from the past years and still have not produced a comfortable ride ... shocks ..seat and pipes are absolutely woeful on the bobbers yet they ignored it all ...moving on to 25 still the SAME... sorry but true you know this. Like the channel mate great 👍
@BrandonBicasso4 ай бұрын
Honestly, the Bobber was always looks over function. Still is today. People love the look and give up comfort for it. If you want more suspension, the 101 shocks (or others and previous Gen) will fit no problem.
