I'm no Nissan/Infiniti fanboy, but haters are gonna hate. Not only is this thing a massive quantum leap over its predecessor(except tossing the V8), it is absolutely more superior than the half-baked cross-country rival, LX600. Yes, the Infiniti is more complete than the Lexus, which already seems dated and is $25K more expensive on the top end for less product. That said, I think Infiniti should've topped this thing out at $95-$100K. Once you cross $110K plus, the Escalade will always win in that price range. But overall, the interior is a knockout, and hell YES to colors other than tan and black. The packaging is excellent for comfort and cargo and has up-to-date tech. I think these will be everywhere just like the current model, as Infiniti typically has favorable lease deals.
@michaelg9195 ай бұрын
I agree. There are haters on every car review I see no matter the manufacturer. Most of the time it’s just trolls that are riding around in mommy’s 98 Grand Caravan. At the end of the day these will sell because people will buy them no matter what. I never once seen anyone go into a dealership showroom and pull out their phone and reading through negative KZbin comments to decide whether or not they will buy a specific car. At the end of the day you buy what you want.
@bigd73865 ай бұрын
@@michaelg919 I agree there’s haters for every manufacturer, but Nissan/Infiniti is coming off of a rough patch and people just won’t let them live it down. They’re finally taking steps to do everything people have been saying they should do but now people complain because it costs too much, among other nit-picky things. It amazes me that people are shocked that a 3-row luxury SUV costs over $100k in 2024, as if we don’t have $100k+ F-Series, Silverados, GMCs, etc running all over these streets. Then You have people that are still claiming Infiniti is going to die as a brand despite them starting a whole product blitz. That’s FOR SURE a sign of a dying brand. All that to say 😂 this is a SOLID entry in this class and I think it’s going to do well. People do not realize how many of the last gen they sold and that owners have been waiting for an all new gen.
@MercOne5 ай бұрын
The only reason it's such a massive leap is because the old was an antique and still on sale well past it's expiry date. Just like the Lexus LX600, this Q80 merely or barely (LX) catches up to the class. It doesn't surpass the competition in any way. I agree totally about the Lexus.

All Infiniti has to do now is to redesign the QX50/55 and Q50 and they will be back in business! they need to ditch those CVTs.
@bigd73865 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, the Q50 is dead as of this year. No new sedan until the EV sedan debuts. But they could inject some life into the QX50 by giving it an extensive refresh (freshen up the exterior and switch it to the new Google based infotainment inside) and switching it to the 9-spd.
@Demoxx15 ай бұрын
The Q50 will become the Qe which is just another electric sedan that will pile up on dealer lots cause it isn't a tesla. As for the QX50/55 they probably will do the same despite the bad sales they will receive from the Qe. These companies need to learn that if you are not as good at making evs as tesla you wont sell them at all.
@Demoxx15 ай бұрын
@@bigd7386 It would be very beneficial to have the ZF9's speed instead of a CVT, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Nissan/Infiniti built the VC-Turbo engine specifically to work with the CVT. So, unless they're willing to invest a significant amount of money to pair and pair it with a different transmission, which they likely don't have due to low sales, it's not going to happen. Love it or hate it, the CVT is here to stay.
@bigd73865 ай бұрын
@@Demoxx1 I thought that was the case as well, but the QX60 in China has the VC-Turbo paired with the same 9-speed we get with in the US spec QX60 with the VQ35. I just think they don't think it's worth the investment to make the change in the QX50 until a new generation debuts.
@GT3.005 ай бұрын
Nissan/Infinity is gonna kill it with this model. Most people have no idea how incredible the QX80/Patrol (Armada) line really is, because you get the watered down version than the rest of the world. This is not the case anymore. They are the GOAT when it comes to durabilty and actual off-roading capabilities. The new Infinity QX80 looks to be incredible. Much better than the LX600. Engine same family as the GT-R engine (from their own words) which is bombproof but with 15 years of technological advancement. I’m sure they’ve learned a thing or two to improve it even further. The transmission is also the 9-speed from the G-wagon but slightly reworked by JATCO who are licensed to do so by Mercedes. Knowing the Japanese they made it even more durable seeing as the Patrol/QX80 is their halo model.
