I have a '23 in the Limited trim. No real issues what so ever. It has all the candy I need, and I really like the ride quality even without airbags. I think Jeep gets a bad rap for reliability. Far fewer recalls than current Ford models. My last vehicle was a 2010 Fusion, and it was a great car. When I shopped for its replacement, I crossed off Ford based on how many quality control issues they had at the time and continue to have. Dozens of recalls versus only a few for my Jeep and those were handled in short order with only a software update in at least one case.

Jeep has a bad rap for a good reason... it is 100% true that their vehicles are garbage. I have owned two FCA/Stellantis products out of 20+ cars in my lifetime and those two would be ranked dead last out of all of them. Just endless problems and horrid build quality.

I have owned 3 Grand Cherokees and I have loved every single one of them. My family has owned 4 Dodge vehicles, which is more or less the same brand. Same parent company. They’ve been fine. I have 126,000 mi on my 2011 and I’d buy it again. I agree, the brand gets a bad rep. I’m not saying they’re perfect in terms of reliability, but they aren’t any worse than the other vehicles we’ve owned. If reliability could be measured on a scale of 1 - 10, with a Land Cruiser at 10, I’d place the Grand Cherokee somewhere around the 6 mark, which is where I would place most vehicles. About average, but can last a long time with adequate maintenance and care. The brand - like all others - has produced some problematic models and powertrains, but it’s not the rule. I don’t think they validate their vehicles to last as long as Toyota and Honda do but they are right in line with Ford and GM. Currently I’d place them above Ford and GM, given the problems those brands have with their powertrains, especially in the trucks and SUVs.

I read an article a couple weeks ago (I think an online article by Motortrend) what car makes are sitting on the most inventory and Stellantis (ie: Chrysler/Jeep, etc.) had the most by far. The article went on to say the needed to move these vehicles fast and expect to see them give dealers huge price-drop incentives. Looks like that was true!

Those of you criticizing this the 67k price for the top of the line Summit Reserve really need to see this vehicle in person. It really is a legitimate luxury vehicle; it was just horribly overpriced previously. Also, that V6 is still competitive and reliable without the complexities and longevity issues of an inline 4 turbo. They still need to add the i6 turbo as an option for the top of the line model however and I still wouldn’t pay the full MSRP.

That i6 turbo seems to be reserved for their Wagoneer. For i4 turbo engines, they last a long, long time if you take care of them like any other engine. My 2015 ATS 2.0T has 120k miles on it and counting. All I have done is fluid changes.

For $65k they'd have to offer something more impressive than the 3.6L that doesn't even make 300hp for me - I owned a 2012 JGC Overland with that engine for 9 years and it was "adequate" but my 2022 Infiniti QX60 that I replaced the Grand Cherokee with feels noticeably more powerful with only two additional horsepower from its smaller V6 engine - I still considered another Grand Cherokee but the price actually steered me away, these new reductions in price along with some hopefully willingness to negotiate from dealers may encourage me to buy one of these Jeeps for the wife when her lease is up next summer though.

Listen. I love the grand cherokee and compass, as well as 2 door wrangler. They're really nice vehicles but stellantis seriously needs to invest focus and money into improving their reliability and repairing their reputation

As a taller driver, I cannot fit comfortably with the Pano-Roof. It eats up about 4-5 inches of roof space and makes it very difficult to sit upright. Sadly, you cannot 'de=select' the roof option, as it comes standard in every trim at limited and above. I've read that having that huge hole in the roof actually makes production easier, jeep doesn't have to worry about the roof-reinforcement as apparently the glass roof portion does the job. I see just about every manufacturer doing the same.

Really? I got about 190 thousand miles out of my 2012 Overland before trading it in after it randomly overheated on me in rush hour traffic, I assume the water pump went but it started steaming so much from under the hood and the coolant gauge was completely pointing to the red 'H" before I noticed it that I just didn't trust it anymore and traded it in the next day, but it was a great truck for 9 years and needed very few repairs, the biggest one was the "blend door" or whatever it's called that made an annoying clicking noise from the dash everytime I'd turn on the heat or A/C and cost me a small fortune to fix, but otherwise I maintained it according to the owner's manual recommendations with all fluids changed at the mileage recommended and never had a big mechanical failure until it overheated likely due to my obliviousness.

However, that gloss black throughout the center looks so cheap, the fit and finish for it might not be great, and keep reliability is just bad. Also, it’s still a lot of money for what it is. You can get a CX-90 for less and that’s also an awesome car.

I rode in a coworker’s 2021 Grand Cherokee. It looks nice but the amount of creaks and rattles really turned me off. If only they built them better I wouldn’t mind having one. I have a 2005 Tundra that still feels solid and quiet when going over bumps.

The Acura is a car pretending to be an SUV. It's bot even in the same class. You'd need to compare the Jeep with something like a Range Rover, not an Acura😂 Let me know when Acura starts offering night vision like you can get on these Jeeps.😂

I'm driving a 2018 Trailhawk right now. That's my baby, I take good care of her. I lost the engine exactly a year ago, got it replaced under warranty , and I didn't spend a dime. Only cost me a few gray hair, though. Last month, I lost my transmission, which cost me $3800 to be replaced. I just got my baby back a week ago. I'm a sucker for Jeep Trailhawk , I was gonna go for the 2025 4e model but seems like they not reliable. I've been looking around for something else because I don't trust my 2018 trailhawk model right now. Hopefully it will last 6 months before I can trade it for something else.

I think the 21” wheels really inhibit how smooth the air suspension can make this vehicle ride. I would buy the air suspension model and I would buy the Laredo wheels to put on it. If you had one with air suspension and one without it, but both vehicles with the same wheel size and tires, the air suspension model would be a smoother ride. It doesn’t have variable damping, but the air springs themselves make the vehicle ride smoother than steel coil springs. The air bag springs are better at reducing the amount of NVH and impact force make it into the cabin. If they added variable damping shocks, it would further enhance the ride quality, and I bet they will one day. I do wish they offered a more powerful engine to bring the max towing numbers back up to 7200lbs, and for effortless take-off torque. I also wish they’d offer one of the 2-speed transfer-case 4WD systems on all trim levels instead of just the most expensive models.

Good morning gentlemen. Hope your Thanksgiving was enjoyable couple days ago. Good review video for the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L in the Summit Reserve trim. I remembered you guys reviewed the Limited trim level couple years ago and I'm glad in this review video the high trim level Summit Reserve got reviewed. I'm on agreeable terms that the overall interior is comfortable, great in appearance and has nice premium build materials. I actually have the same Jeep Grand Cherokee L in the Summit Reserve trim. The only three differences are mine is the 2023 model year....I got mine last year in the summer of 2023, exterior color for mine is the Diamond Black Crystal Pearl color and finally mine has the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. It's a very good performing engine. If that V8 engine was carried over to the 2025 model year and you guys reviewed it, as for the hard acceleration from 0 to 60 it would've gotten four smiley faces or five. Unfortunately, the 5.7 liter V8 got discontinued due to the new emission guidelines that got outlined couple years ago. Basically, dumb emission guidelines outlined by the current administration. The 6.4 liter HEMI V8 engine in the bigger luxury brother Grand Wagoneer got discontinued as well starting with the 2024 model year for that vehicle. The 2022 and 2023 model years for the Grand Wagoneer came with the 6.4 liter HEMI V8 engine. The replacement engine which is a 3.0 liter twin turbo inline 6 or straight 6 engine produces 510 horsepower which is impressive. Unfortunately, for a hard acceleration with that engine what's M.I.A. is the V8 growl sound. Depending on how things might go, maybe with the incoming elected new administration, bigger engines that got discontinued might slowly come back eventually. Bigger engines either if it's a V6 or V8 across the entire automotive industry regardless of automaker. As for the technology features in the Grand Cherokee L in the Summit Reserve trim, it's not slightly dated. The technology features are still on par with the luxury rivals and mainstream rivals as well. Besides wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple Car play there are some other features as well which are M.I.A. from some of the competitors luxury or mainstream. Other tech features include the front passenger infotainment screen, interior camera, night vision camera, ambient lighting, seat memory for the front passenger, parallel parking/perpendicular parking assist, HDMI port and some other features will be found when playing around with the infotainment screen. Overall, this vehicle has few features that's missing from the new Lexus TX. A mid-cycle refresh for this fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L is coming. Based on info I've gotten from couple sources, the 2026 model year will have the mid-cycle refresh in effect. A new powertrain will be available as well for the refresh. It'll be the 3.0 liter twin turbo inline 6 Hurricane engine that's found in the Grand Wagoneer. However, when it gets released it'll be detuned though. They're not going to make it have identical performance numbers the Grand Wagoneer has which is 510 horsepower. For the Grand Cherokee L it'll be detuned down to probably between 430 to 450 horsepower. That's my range I think they'll aim for. Generally speaking, Jeep did a great job with this fifth generation Grand Cherokee. All exterior lights are LED and the same goes for all the interior lights which are LED as well which is standard regardless of trim level. I love my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L and I'll keep it just like how I'm still keeping my 2005 third generation V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee. One thing I'll do with my Jeep Grand Cherokee L is to get it painted a different color at the dealership in two years time. I originally wanted the Midnight Sky Blue color when I got mine last year, but it wasn't available at my local dealership and neighboring dealerships didn't have that color either. The Summit and Summit Reserve trims comes standard with the two tone exterior color. When the time comes mine will look great with the Midnight Sky Blue color for the body and the black roof remains.

This Jeep is very nice inside and out. It has always been the nicer option depending on which segment you was looking at. It wasn’t really expensive until you looked at this summit reserve trim which in my opinion isn’t competing with the mainstream. This is more of a QX60, Q7, Lincoln aviator competitor. Maybe an alternative to a X7 or GLS from bmw and Mercedes. It has enough luxury and tech that it won’t have consumers wanting for more BUT the major setback of this is the reliability. I notice this with a lot of American branded vehicles, these tend to have problems within maybe the first few years. Technology wise. These have quite a few mechanical issues. Jeep has never been known for being reliable cars anyway so it’s not a surprise but it’s something to beware of. This is 67 we looked at a qx60 and XC90 that was 72 and this is about as nice even though jeep is an established luxury brand this is definitely something to take a look at. I will say though, the V8 will be missed. It was the only one left of either segment with a V8. The Durango is still going strong with its hemi though 💪

One of the primary reasons I decided on a 2024 Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve is that I could get it with the 5.7 Hemi V8, otherwise I would have no interest. I would have liked it even better with the 392. In my opinion, the 3.6 V6 is too stressed and underpowered for this vehicle. Too bad Jeep did away with the availability of a V8 option in the Grand Cherokee. Bring to market what customers want, not what the government mandates.

The Acura, Infiniti, and Mercedes competition have piano black as well. The Jeep Grand Cherokee top of the line models were an “affordable” alternative to the expensive luxury models when we paid 56k for my wife’s 2019 Summit. Problem is, Stellantis started charging as much and even more in some cases than those models… a big mistake. Trust me, these vehicles in the top of the line models are NICE!

Sorry Jeep, but the top-of-the-line Grand Cherokee is not far from Lexus GX price territory, and Lexus is in another league in design, quality, and reliability not to mention a much powerful powertrain. Exterior-wise, it doesn't look too different from any other 3-row SUV out there, But I must say, finally the Grand Cherokee has a beautifully designed interior. It's kind of sad to see the diminishing of an icon such as the Gran Cherokee, I haven't seen many of these in the streets as previous models.
