Dark chrome and black accents can be nice. What they did here was slap flat black plastic all over the place. Not fitting for their premium vehicle. Not sure how you can call something a "premium sport" and you downgrade the painted wheel arches and replace with flat black plastic?

We ordered a turbo s Premium without the console in the 2nd row. It made the area seem more spacious, allowed room for purses.... and also if you have adults in the 3rd row, then can stick one of their feet into that area. It should be noted for others that in the 3rd row, it is very comfy and spacious for your body- just not your feet because of the sliders for the 2nd row chairs. If you are an adult, you will have to put one foot behind the chair and one foot into the console space. Another thing to note: if you have a console, it does not seem to lay flush with the seats down if you are planning on having dog beds or something else. Thanks for the review guys- please add in visors and also expecting people who carry dogs/people in the back, WOULD LOVE YOU TO REVIEW THE STRENGTH OF THE 2nd and 3rd row A/C HEATING FLOW!!!! AS A DOG OWNER HAVE NOT FOUND THIS ON ANY CHANNEL. it's a major concern to me. Also for people who live in cold climates being able to warm up 2nd row passengers. I tested a cx5 and could not get any flow from the vents. I think they were for looks and not actually active!

All the vloggers like to compare the CX-90 to the Grand Highlander, Honda Pilot, or Kia Telluride on the low end or the BMWs on the high end. Those cars are completely different in size or engine layout so they are inappropriate. No one compares the Audi Q7, which is similar to the CX-90 in every way. Even the trim names are the same (well, the 2024s). The engines are different (I4 and V6 vs I6) but the power is similar for the base and upper engines (the Mazdas are a bit more powerful). The CX-90 is a bit bigger inside and out. The difference is that the Mazda is tens of thousands less expensive likely to be more reliable in the long run.

I rented a cx90 for a few days from national and here are my thoughts Pros 1. Looks great inside and out 2. Handling and ride were excellent 3. Feels very stable around corners 4. The hud is great and it shows BSM and CarPlay directions 5. Relatively quiet 6. Wireless CarPlay worked flawlessly 7. Comfy seats 8. The chimes were nice 9. The pano roof was a nice addition. 10. The radar cruise control worked great. -------------------- Cons 1. If you toggle the drive mode to sport, you can’t use cruise control. If you do, you’ll get a message saying “Sport mode cancelled due to cruise control use”, and it’ll go back to normal mode. That is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in any car. My Toyota lets me use cruise control regardless of the drive mode 2. The touchscreen doesn’t work. I then found out that only more expensive trims get it. 3. The heated seats don’t remember the last setting when you restart the car 4. When you accelerate normally the transmission shifts way too quickly to 2nd gear. My Toyota doesn’t do that. 5. I hate start stop systems in general but this one was a bit too abrupt and jerky. 6. If you’re in drive or reverse and for some reason you set the parking brake, pressing the gas will not auto release it 7. The inline 6 was a bit noisier than I expected. Sure it’s no b58, but considering inline 6 engines are known for being silky smooth and ultra refined, i expected it to be a lot closer to a b58. The 2GR FKS motor in my Toyota felt a lot more refined and quieter in comparison 8. Wireless charger doesn’t even work. Keep seeing the message “wireless charger unavailable” 9. The gauge cluster or hud have to be adjusted via the infotainment 10. Compared to my Toyota, the hud wasn’t as feature rich as I expected. For example the hud in my Toyota shows the media information whenever I change or adjust the volume using the steering wheel. Plus it also shows warning messages, exterior temperature, a drowsy indicator, and even the status of the parking sensors when the car starts beeping at me when I park. 11. The steering feel even in sport mode was a bit underwhelming at best. Considering Mazdas have better feel and it’s RWD, I had hoped for a lot more feedback. The steering feel was more or less the same as my Toyota. 11. Noticed poor fit finish on the speakers near the A pillar on the front doors. When you touch them, they actually move to the point where I could just yank them out

As for your first complaint, why would you want the drive mode to stay in sport while you're cruising? Seems counter-intuitive to me. The point of cruise control is to hold the set speed, if you were in sport mode, the RPM's would remain high, so you'd be using more fuel even while cruising? Is that what you want? It's easy enough to get into sport mode right before passing. Can you imagine if once you're done passing, and you want to get back into cruise, and the car remains in sport mode, then you'd have to switch back to normal. Just more unnecessary button presses IMO.
@naveenthemachine
@naveenthemachine Күн бұрын
@ in my Toyota when I use cruise control in sport mode the rpm’s don’t rise that much. Sport mode doesn’t change the gearing of the transmission. Gearing is the same. It’s just the throttle response that changes

I really wanted to like the CX90 but in many ways it falls short. 1. Terrible key fob. Anyone with thumbs will constantly hit the wrong tiny side buttons 2. Do not be 6’ or taller as you will not have any thigh support in the front seat. 3. Sure you can use the screen as touch screen in Car Play but I suggest having ape length arms. 4. The ride is stiff for this class of vehicle. 5. Storage areas are practically non-existent 6. Absolutely minimum ambient lighting at night - very dark at night if that matters to you. 7. The shift knob makes zero sense. All in all, a very good engine while the rest of the vehicle is quite impractical.
@pazicjr
@pazicjr Күн бұрын
1. I agree with the fob, but I rarely have to reach for it now. 2. No comment, nowhere close to 6' 😂 3. I've never had to reach over for the touch screen while driving, the knob is preferable, and I don't have to take my eyes off the road. I only need the touchscreen once at a stop light if I have to change the destination (rarely). 4. The ride is stiff because it's meant to give you feedback, if it was floaty, you'd lose the handling, you can't have both, for example, the Grand Highlander, it's floaty and has worse handling. 5. Definitely if you compare it with the Grand Highlander or Pilot, but I came from a smaller car. 6. Doesn't matter to me. 7. I don't get this complaint, when automatic shifters were newly introduced, they were a gate style shifter, where you had to go from left (P) to right (R), then down (N), then left and down (D), and if you wanted manual mode, then another left. This is way better than other brands' knob shifters, the button shifters and the like.

Sadly, have to agree with most of it. I own the 2024 cx90 gt with phev. Dont care about the touchscreen thing, I use the voice for everything once apple carplay is connected. I bave clocked 7000kms on it and I can tell that as a 6 ft guy it is a bit stiff , seat wise. BUT, the engine and the interiors are top notch, happy with the purchase :) And what most reviews dont cover, is the way it drives over snow , it is quite decent.

@@eddiem488my pleasure! I live in Western Canada and it snows a decent amount and its able to take it. I have an old Subaru that is the local benchmark :) and the Mazda surpasses it!! I am sure off roading focussed vehicles must do a better job but I have only driven Japanese ones ( Honda, Mazda, toyota, Subaru etc) so compared to those it felt a lot more in control, I am talking about driving on 5 inches of semi compacted snow with some black ice here and there at below 35kph ( and well below 0 degrees )

I completely understand. I live in southern Ontario and we don’t get as much snow as out west but the weather here is definitely unpredictable. Looked at this exact spec in person, it was really nice inside and out. In person, it looks quite big and that’s the really deceiving part. It looks big on the outside but inside it feels very snug even compared to our smaller highlander. Maybe it was due to the positioning of the seats or the way the dash is made. It’s a beautiful cabin but the engine layout and platform this is built on is what keeps the cabin from being as spacious as the outside dimensions would suggest. It’s something worth considering because we had just got out of a palisade and that felt more comfortable…ofc because it’s a FWD based crossover with a smaller engine.

It's not really possible to try an cover two market tiers with one vehicle. You've got base (which to me looks a bit on the cheap with all the generic black plastic) and you've got the top tier with all the trim on the outside that I'm looking for, but at a substantial price premium. I still think they need to reduce the price even more. The dealers also refuse to do any substantial price reductions in my region. Everything that a person might want is bottled up in having to get the high trim (which includes many pricey items that I won't use). Kinda of like cable TV: No a la carte options to provide the customer with a more customized ordering option.

These do not hold value. Saw a used on a local Mazda lot with only 3,000 miles for $34,000. It wasn’t the top model but they had CX5’s same year and mileage priced higher. Mazda can’t sell new models which is killing the used prices.

The reason why the price dropped is because some customers know that the engine has to be dropped for a variety of different kinds of common after warranty repairs such as timing chains. When the warranty runs out there will be expensive maintenance repairs such as a timing chain which are typically done between 90k and 150k miles. Thus, those people who are informed are avoiding the purchase. Mazda knows they made a mistake and the only way to deal with the decreased sales is to drop the price and hope to sell the vehicle to uninformed buyers. This link below confirms the engine drop issue. The link reviews a list of repairs that require the dealer to drop the whole engine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqPEnWxpnNKJoa8si=zZeYuWcnSqEIcOpD

@JaketheSnake-lz1pq thanks. Can you send me a mazda link that indicates 200k for changing the timing chain?. Also, this particular model has 3 chains. What is the schedule for all three? Also, the link I provided had a list of multiple items beyond the timing chain such that the engine had to be dropped for each maintenance repair. Can you address the full list of items? Here us the link again with the list: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqPEnWxpnNKJoa8si=_Gc8CWLvUpg6TGwA

@@richt6956 tell me the last time you changed a timing chain on any of your vehicles I'm own an auto Parts and I haven't sold a timing set on any vehicle that is less than 10 years old and less than 150k and what are the other service items that you are talking about
@richt6956
@richt6956 4 сағат бұрын
@@JaketheSnake-lz1pq you are correct. I had 2 timing chains done. One at 160k (Chrysler caravan) and one at 180k(honda odyssey). I tend to keep my cars for over 200k miles. I'm also old and I've had a number of cars in my life and they did not need a timing chain. The link does point out other items that can go out and you would need to drop the engine. I guess if you lease the cx90 and turn it in after 36 months you would be protected from that expense. If you buy the car at the end of the lease then you could get an extended warranty for $5k that would cover you until about 150k miles. So I guess that would be some level of risk mitigation. Thank you for your insights!
