I had a 2015 650 Ninja and loved that bike. I could travel 200 miles at a time and it was a breeze. can't do that on my ZX6R. Seriously thinking about getting another 650 Ninja for the long runs. ZX6R still staying in the stable that's my race horse.

Is a 2017 gonna be better for a first bike or a 2020 onward? I know there’s differences in the dashboard and some other things. Unsure of which years have what or rather when each thing was added so I can narrow down which year is for me. Gonna have it for the long run when I get one some day asap

Bought this exact model in September. Love it, coming from dirt riding, BMX, and a z125 street, this bike makes me very happy. I’m still dumb so I got it so I atleast had the option to relax and not be a complete idiot all the time. What a great way to start the weekend with a new Ray Bowden Rides video. When I saw Plano's finest in the parking lot I thought the same thing, did Ray install the dealer temp tag. Torn between the Ninja 650 or the Z650 for my next bike. I have a Z400 now. The 650 has enough HP for me, I just want something a little more stable with better quality for commuting and occasional weekend light touring. I am slightly cramped on the 400. ​@@RayBowdenRides I ended up buying a 40th anniversary SE 500 but it gets here in 2-3weeks (interstate as none left so that was an extra $1000). The original plan was to buy two as the Mrs will ride. I think the 2025 bikes are due in late October November. That's why I'll put deposit now for the krt 650 like yours. It was a nightmare finding that 40th anniversary SE but I only found out about them a month ago

I wasnt a teen in the early 90's but remember Kawasaki looking similar to the 40th anniversary bikes. I love the new Kawasaki colour and literally why I've bought new again. 2 years I've looked at the 650 and only the Mrs liked the colours. 2024/25 was my year to buy lol

I still will buy this bike 650 its perfect for commuting .. I have gixxer 600 I will keep.. but a ninja 650 will be on my garage as well .. when I get new bikes one thing I always do is eliminate the horn and add garage door opener as my horn switch .. who uses a horn on a motorcycle. No one .. so I always make it useful.. nothing better then coming home and hit the horn switch and see your garage open :)

I absolutely ❤️ the new KRT colors! So glad they ditched the red accents! It just didn’t flow with the Kawi green! My goal is to get the ‘25 Ninja 650 KRT before next riding season. IMO it’ll do everything I need & look great doing so. I had a ‘99 Yamaha R6 back in my early twenties but now I’m a little seasoned so as much as I want another SuperSport like a ZX4 or R7 my back just can’t take that lean. So I think the 650 with its upright riding position would suite me best yet cost less than its competitors of the same class.

I had a 250 ninja with an after market exhaust and I loved that bike so much. I had to sell it and have been itching for a bigger bike but it’s been years since I’ve driven and I’m going for this instead of a 600. I do want an after market exhaust because I love the loud sound. Any suggestions for aftermarket exhausts on the 650?

Lol, the "beginner" monicker is kind of a slight to the bike. It's a great overall bike for anyone. I had one a few years ago and I was definitely not a beginner, lol. I wish I had kept it. I added bags and a taller screen and it toured quite nicely.

@American_Devil the Gsx 8R is a AWESOME bike and comfortable too! Your getting up into some higher Hp now - go to a motorcycle course and get your license and see how comfortable you are and then start closing in on a bike! Remember you can always buy another Bike, you only get 1 life. Your going to buy another bike most likely- riding is a progressive disease! You'll always be thinking of the next bike and what you want with it. Atleast that's my opinion!! It's one of the funniest hobbies you could ever have. I'm here to help just hit me up! Sometimes it takes a few hours to answer- but I'm here for You!!

I'm pretty sure that isn't the point of the slipper clutch. It stops you from locking up your back wheel if you shift down to too low of a gear.

I just tried a Kawasaki 900 rs today and it was waaaay to high for me: that one was around 790 cm high, and the motorcycle was way to poweful for my needs too. I ride more like Peter Fonda not Thomas Lüthi. 😅 ...And yes, I already have a Vulcan S, I just wanna ride a different way.

On the highway/freeway going about 75-90 does the wind blow the bike or is it stable ? I had. 400cc and when I hit those speeds I felt the wind storta take control.

If a 650 is a starter bike then what is a 300? I think this is why people get into crashes starting with something that does 0-60 under 5 secs. Nice review though! ♥

I must admit had I seen this I wouldn't have paid for my 40th anniversary SE 500 as I was looking at the 650l originally. Who knows I might buy both (if I can get Mrs to ride which is why I tried buying X2 ninja 40th but only one arrived)

Bro, I did the same thing, but I love that anniversary livery, so after I purchased the new 500, I found a used 2020 KRT 650 with only 450 miles for $6200, saved quite a bit from buying a new one, no reason why you can have both!

@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 Right, I think I am leaning more towards the CF Moto 450SS, I think it’s the best option in my opinion. The reasoning behind this is that it is more-so much powerful that the Ninja 500/is the same power wise. But, I think it would make sense to get the CF Moto 450SS because of all the features that you can get, without upgrading to the SE model like you would with the Ninja 500. Plus, I would get it tuned for a 10% power increase, and the cool thing is, it has security features that aren’t typically seen in/on other bikes, like GPS tracking and notifications when the bike is touched. I’m a huuuuuuge fan of Kawasaki and Suzuki, and you can say Honda too, but Ray made a great point to me that matters the most; it’s mentioned in this video. For the price point of the CF Moto 450SS, it makes total sense. But, I would upgrade to a Kawi later down the road. It’s been a long thought process and reviewing tons of different books on KZbin, and especially sitting on many different bikes. I think if/when I upgrade, it’ll probably be a Kawasaki Ninja 650, or the GSX8R. The GIXX8’er is super comfortable and comes with tons of features, I sat on this bike at Plano Kawasaki, so they’ll definitely get my coins, and dollar bills. That place is motorcycle heaven.
