We are planning to get an EV9 later in the year. Currently building an extra large car port with wide access s. Not sure why anyone would want a faster version. GT Line was incredibly quick for a large car when we took it for a test drive.

I really like the EV9 - with wife, two teenagers and a dog, our current Skoda Enyaq needs a roof box. I wouldn't even need the third row of seats in exchange for even more storage space (the dog also agrees). However, have to test-drive it, as I'm not sure it would fit typical parking garage gates and spots here in Europe, given its enormous width. Thanks for the video, Sam!

Oh, and... I think I'd rather go for the regular AWD, as even that range isn't spectacular. But there's a price you have to pay for a car that size (with that much space inside).

Thing is, all that extra power comes very cheap in an EV which uses a large battery for decent range. It's become a bit of a selling point. Basically, EVs are higher-powered than ICE cars...

I am not a fan of more and more and more power. I think the 400 hp are already enough for a SUV. The only reason I can go with is, that I can laugh about the stupid expensive AMG drivers…..

For 3 row sub, anything below 8 seconds is way sufficient. The rest is range and affordability. Just like the xc40 volvo we getting in our country, they have a 3.8 sec dual motors. But more likely would have sold better with a cheaper single motor long range model

the main cause for range reduction is the same as for the EV6 GT or any performance car. big wide sticky performance tires bc you have to put the power on to or off the road without slipping and sliding

Assuming it's AWD which it probably is, it makes sense to have that extra power for off road driving and perhaps towing. Beyond that however, the current model would be adequately powered simply as a people mover.

Acceleration has always been a metric for vehicles. When Sam points out the performance it’s just an example of EV being better than ICE. Just another metric they win on.

Speed or 0 to 60 means nothing to me what I look for in a car is how far I can go with out a fill up , as when we visit our daughter and grand children time is a essence to us so we have a diesel that we can do over 640 miles and still have more than a quarter of a tank

The Rivian R2 is going to destroy this EV9 GT. Rivian has not revealed the official specs for the R2 variants but you can be sure Rivian will design to wipe the floor with just about anything else like the R1T and R1S do now. The current R1 series do 0-60mph in 3 seconds.

The R2 is a 5️⃣ 💺 🚙. And the EV9 has a larger third row compared to R1S 🚙 I like the EV9 but with Rivian's vehicles it’s been love since first sight in 2018 (R1T).

The R2 is the same size as an Audi Q5 - this is bigger than a Q7 - different cars entirely. The R2S is also not yet in production and anyone can claim whatever they like in 0-60 times for what their car will do, I'll wait until I see an actual production version before I trust the claim.

I leave in România , my 2022 model 3 can not properly see when the street lights change , it can not drive alone . The range is bad and charging stations are not enough in a lot of places , România Bulgaria Greece , if they don’t make the model 3 rwd 90 kWh battery and better cold enter eficienți tesla will lose a lot of customers

This car makes no sense. It is a 7 seater SUV/People Mover cross over whatever that means. It costs in its top spec $135K (plus ORCs). The average Australian household is 2.59 people (so who needs a 7 seater and if you need one I don't think you can afford the nearly $100K for the base model). It is a 2.5 tonne 5 metre beast that makes little sense in an urban environment where we need EVs to be sold in big numbers to improve air quality and the idea that you can take it off road wit the caravan/boat hooked up will result in significantly reduced range to the point where it is simply not a practical alternative to a Toyota Land Cruiser diesel. The Chinese makers seemed to have pointed the way with EVs that work in an urban environment at between $40k - $50K - that's the price people can afford and will look at EVs as an option.

EV9 is currently undergoing a massive promotion in S. Korea that you can get one for below $30k right now. And considering that this is the same E-GMP platform shared by Hyundai Ioniq 5,6; plus it's the only 7 seater that provides 800v charging on the market, the price is ridiculously underrated.

@@moarpwr4414 I've owned a sorrento and 2 ioniqs....on gas cars the engines bliw btwn 80-120k miles.... in ev they used cheap batteries and had cooling issues.... That's my background.....now ANY 1st generation car will have issues...and this is 1st generation AND new technology AND the biggest battery pack kia has every used....

Which ‚Premium‘ ICE that not needs an oil well? 65% of people do not know cost of their car! Here in Europe buyers of big SUV have a reason and a need and usually enough money. So they are no idiots with opinion but make a calculation of what they need to invest. So the 68% efficiency always beats mediocre 21% and also many of the buyers have PV and many also horses or other trailers for business, so an EV with that superior range in the class is definitely much cheaper to operate even if money plays no role. At our Golf Club once there were many BMW and Mercedes (nobody ever wanted American shitty cars and gas guzzlers) but now Elon is the only one that made USA great again! 80% now are S3XY cars and with my Kia EV6 AWD or even a Porsche Taycan we are quite lost! But who ever wants his ICE back if it’s not an old Ferrari or Lamborghini or Bugatti for his museum?
