So here's the thing Acura is coming out with a adx would the Lexus ux be its main competitor
@rahimi47626 күн бұрын
Yes. The Q3 and XC40
@nbg25843 күн бұрын
The ADX is longer (185.5 long) to the NX (184 long) so I think that it will be more of the Q5 and NX competitor.

The center area looks pretty nice. No stupid shiny plastic like the Crown, although the Crown has much nicer door panels. Fun rating should have been higher. You should also comment on how loud the engine sounds for a luxury vehicle.

The center console is pretty wide. Does it interfere with the leg room on the driver's side?
@nbg25843 күн бұрын
I’m trying to like this car bad but that large center console in this small hatchback car just takes too much space. You have enough leg room but it just feels weird.

So, I actually test drove this car yesterday in the color Grecian Water. I have about 75 days left on my 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy and I am looking to get away from the Hyundai/Kia brand (not happy with how they handled the stolen vehicle situation over the last 2-3 years and the insurance premiums have gotten outrageous). I was surprised by how much I liked the UX, actually. The things I did not like: 1) No 360 camera available (stinks I've become too reliant on technology over the years), 2) The brakes felt very "spongy" to me - don't know how else to describe them, 3) Backseat was CRAMMED and I'm 5'7" on a good day - I would say I only had an inch or two behind me and my seated position. 4) The trunk is small and it sits very high. But, I do appreciate they don't use piano black inside of the interior, the seats are EXTREMELY comfortable and supportive, very quiet cabin, and in 0-45 type of traffic, it kept up much better than I expected. Way more pros than cons. And unfortunately in today's world, it seems if you can find a luxury brand under $50k, even the entry level model, that seems to be a "good deal." I'm going tomorrow to try out the NX 350h premium for comparison. I think this car is great for a very specific buyer and it is not for about probably 85% of buyers - probably a single person like myself or a couple, no pets (like a large dog), someone who only uses the backseat a handful of times a year, and just wants excellent grocery go-getter and doesn't plan to haul a lot of stuff (I could probably fit my backpack and suitcase in the trunk and that's it). Test drove a Cadillac XT4 right after this and that was TERRIBLE in comparison. Test drove that car and was back at the dealer within about 4 minutes.

There is absolutely no reason to choose this over, say, XC40 (or an X1, GLB, Q3, or a NX if you _really_ want a Lexus; but XC40 is a benchmark in the subcompact category, which is why I am using it as an example here). None. If you want reliability, just get a small Toyota or Mazda and you'll be happy. This has a Lexus badge, but it's tiny, the back seat isn't great, the transmission is very "meh", it isn't very practical in terms of storage and even the premium sound system isn't very good. I like several Lexus products, but this definitely _isn't_ one of them. This is one of those times where _"just get a Toyota"_ meme would be an appropriate suggestion; although I'd probably get a comparable Mazda, but maybe that's just me.

yes there is. here in texas volvo dealers are not as nice as lexus ones. and I'm never gonna sit in my backseat in my own car except for my doggies and it's a hybrid and you can get a great price and great handling and acceleration!!!!
@karacha5 күн бұрын
@@jsundberg5542 You make some good points here, but: your experience with dealerships is anecdotal. My experience with both is _exceptional_ . But someone in say, Florida, might say both of these dealerships are bad, while Mercedes and Land Rover are the best. It doesn't mean much. The second point is perfectly valid, and if you're the only person driving the car, the cabin space and overall practicality don't matter as much. Fair. The third point... I will give you the hybrid part -- the fuel economy is amazing. But the handling absolutely isn't except if you have never driven any good handling cars. None of these subcompact SUVs handle well, with the possible exception of BMW X1. Finally, the acceleration; it is not good at all. Most tests put the UX close to 8s, from 0-60 mph. That might be the worst in class right there. See 13:16. Does that look quick?! Typically, it's going to be under 6.5 for most other models I mentioned earlier. (You could, of course, get the X1 M35i model, which absolutely rips and will go 0-60 in under 5s, but that might be an overkill, really.) The UX is on average 60hp under-powered compared to everything else in its class.

Lexus charging pads are awkwardly placed. You can’t see the phone’s display and it’s awkward to take back out. Automakers should copy Tesla’s approach.
@DominionAnako-bb7ry6 күн бұрын
For sure! The Lexus UX has a pretty cool design, with a bold front grille and sharp lines. Inside, it’s all about luxury with high-quality materials and a techy infotainment system. It also gets good gas mileage, which is a bonus! Plus, it comes with a bunch of safety features.

@josephpayton20555 күн бұрын
The problem with the UX is the fact that it’s still be sold. I mean there are much better options for 45 thousand dollars, heck even 38. Around this price point, you can really get a nice CX30 from Mazda with a nicer cabin imo, and a better powertrain and it looks better. Or if you look at one of the redesigned entries from Kia and Hyundai those have more for less. Granted the UX maybe more reliable in the long run but it’s just not as appealing. If anybody wanted a small Lexus, they should just upgrade to the NX with a similar cabin, better looks and more space. Oh and fun fact, this shares some qualities with the discontinued Infiniti QX30 which is why it’s kind showing its age now.
