Yup, I'm a toyota fan girl who left for the p4x. A few reasons actually. I felt the interior of the p4x in with cloth and leather trims were way nicer for the money than the TRD models. The ride quility was wayyyyy better than the 3rd or 4th gen TRDs. The NA engine that has better mpgs than my 3rd gen did and i believe better than the 4th gen guys are saying on fb. You get more for your money. that was a fully loaded one i do believe. The fully loaded TRD is definitely more money. I got a basic woth the cloth. Pkus deals. I paid 39k new for my 24. However, 2 things i hate on the 24. One was corrected in 25. The lack of telescope wheel. There was non. I had a car wreck that messed my neck up. Havinf my shoulders roller foreward is terrible. I unfortunately have to have the seat up further than needed, to prevent the shoulder roll. They did fix that in 25. I may trade up one day or just changed columns. Maybe find a spacer. The second thing i hate is the tie down situation. I mean easy fix though. I did want a 6ft bed. It wasn't anything bad enough to make a 3rd complaint. It is whatever. Prefered but i have a 5x7 trailer if needed. I don't need it really. Really. The truck over all has been very good to me. There are like any trucks today some small issue that can go bad. However i MEAN SMALL compared to the competition. I much rather deal with than others that need tow trucks for their issues. I talking charging port and entertainment systems are as bad as it gets. Better than engines blowing or trans locking like other trucks right now. A very reliable truck so far. Obviously, not many miles yet.

My only complaint with that truck is that it can’t clear 285/70/17’s without a lift, but the Tacoma can. Other than that it’s perfect. I bet if you went down in rim size to a 16, you’d clear 285/75/16’s with zero rubbing. Steel wheels from the lower trim levels will tuck in deeper than these aluminum 17’s

Great review, I’m on my second Frontier SV (2022), great truck, good performance, and handling. I like the new long bed option, the short bed doesn’t have quite enough length for weed wackers, shovels, etc. I wish they kept the bed floor rails standard which I used all the time for tying down 2x4’s. I wonder what they did to increase towing capacity? Is that because of the new hood vents- are they functional?
@Jason-SamkoАй бұрын
Not sure what changes were made to make the tow reting change
@clarkkent9080Ай бұрын
There were no frame of power plant changes so I assume that the towing increase was a paper change and technically applies to 2022s and up. I would like a 6' bed also but my 2024 5' barely fits in the garage and that is more important than one more foot.
@foamerwankenobi3601Ай бұрын
Why wouldn't they put wheel wells around the rear tires? All the salt and sand used in the winter can just fly all over the frame and underside of the bed.
@clarkkent9080Ай бұрын
The 2025 frontier frame and undercarriage is essentially the same as the last generation that spanned 16 years. You should expect the same issues with the new generation as the mlast. BTW, more than 50% of the U.S. never sees snow or sault.

Did not want to buy used again so it was this or a jeep. The only 2 non turbo sixes I can find. Glad I got a 24 pro-4x. I understand new launch price is higher but if they get these down near the price I got mine at 43, I think more will sell. More than 45k for any mid size is priced too high IMO. People buying those turbos up don’t understand, they wear quicker and take more care to keep them going. It takes more than just driving somewhere and shutting it down when you get to the mall. Supposed to have a cool down cycle. No interest for in something that just doesn’t last and for the new prices, Toyota has lost it’s “Kaizen”
@Scroll_LockАй бұрын
That was all the options model too. The price reflects that and most people won't want or need all the expensive leather, moonroof, heated wheel and seats, whatever. That dealer pretty much checked every option and being early for the new 25 refresh I haven't seen any that aren't fully loaded like this. My point is the Pro4x can be had for a lot less money than 50k. I got a 24 pro4x for just about 37k. I only got the technology package because less things to break and I prefer old school simplicity. Wait until later in next year and don't bother with the premium package and I bet you can get one for 40k without too much hassle.

If you want to see what an honest Nissan dealer will really sell these for, google the inventory for Mountain View Dalton Ga. Nissan. Their listed price is real but does not include $699 dealer doc fee OR any Nissan college, military, or previous owner discounts and you can haggle. My 2024 Prox was $5,500 off MSRP, no dealer add-ons and when I checked last week, that same truck was $6,500 off MSRP. They can ask whatever they want but it is what you can get it for that counts.

@@n0xxm3rcyxxNone, and it’s a 22 so first year of the refresh but the drivetrain has been in use since 2020 so technically third model year for this generation drivetrain. I do all oil changes, rear diff oil, filters, tire rotations and brake pads myself. Brake fluid, trans fluid, coolant I go to the dealership to do. Really cheap to maintain honestly. If you want to get one go used they are super cheap used even for a 4x4. The S trim level is just like the SV I have an SV the only difference is aluminum wheels and color matched bumpers you get access to all same options in S and SV so tbh I’d save money and get an S if you wanted one. Things like tow mode, 4/7 pin and hitch receiver can be added later so don’t waste money on dealer packages. Tech package like blind spot, rear cross traffic alert etc, get if you want from the factory because you can’t add it later. But it’s a solid truck for the money. Only thing I don’t like is I should have got a long bed.

@clarkkent9080Ай бұрын
@@myauctionaddictionestatesa7451 Hydraulic like electric steering can have variable power boost. American cars pre 1980 had so much power boost that you could steer with one finger but had zero road feedback. I assume that Nissan has designed their boost for a particular balance between ease and road feel and offroad control I agree that the Frontier is stiff at low speed but very comfortable at speed. Some people like you may prefer a high boost. For me, I do notice it is stiffer than most steering but not so much as to be a problem. I have driven vehicles with no power steering and ones with highly boosted power steering and just see it as one of the trucks particular driving dynamitics. The frame and suspension has not been changed significantly since the previous gen and I would be more interested in a better turning radius than more boost. But Nissan has been building bullet proof Frontiers for decades and I am sure the engineers have their reasons.

I would say the Pro4x and the ZR2 aren't really comparable. People trash talk to pro4x because they compare it to the last gen TRD Pro. It's more in line competition with the Colorado Trail Boss or the TRD Off Road. That dealer basic checked every box on the options, I wouldn't pay 50k for it but luckily you can get it with less options for a MUCH more reasonable price. There is a good aftermarket for these trucks too.
