I bought a fully loaded 2020 ram 1500 laramie 4x4 crew cab short bed. Every option except air suspension. Brand new for $47,500. These new prices are insane. Holding onto my truck until the wheels come off

I purchased my Ram 1500 DT five years ago. It has all the same options as this one with the following exceptions: V6 Pentastar, 3:21 rear end and no skid plates. However, it was $41,000 out the door. The MSRP was $50,055. The only service on the truck has been oil changes, air and cabin filters, plus, I insisted on a transmission oil change at 40K miles. Also, I average 20.5 mpg around town. I am very pleased with the truck and will probably have it at least five more years.

Less than 2 months ago i got my new 2023 power wagon with level 2 and a few other options for $65k. It only had 24 miles on the odometer and the window sticker was $81k. I wound rather have my 23 than this new 25.

If people just shop around they can find these on the Laramie trim for under 56k. Still high but you get more options. There's dealers cutting the sticker price by 14k or more.

If someone is interested in buying a 2024 Ram 1500 for the main reason of getting a Hemi V8 and an estimated time to buy October-December, would you recommend they wait for a deal or start looking now? Curious if inventory for 2024s will even be around then since 2025s are already starting to roll out and concerned that the chance to get a V8 at the end of the year might not be there/discounted further. Interested in your thoughts.

The only thing this needs to be somewhat more competitive is the upgraded instrument cluster and maybe the 12" infotainment screen which consequently are both standard in the F150 XLT which is the direct competitor to this truck. And of course this doesn't have the auto down tailgate either which the F150 XLT has as well.

My 2019 Ram Big Horn has LED lights as well, it had a sticker of 57K back in 2018 but it is pretty loaded up. The fact you now get adaptive cruise plus all the extra safety tech and I would say the price is probably less now for what your are getting with inflation. They are starting to offer 5-6K off sticker on the 2025's now. I test drove one yesterday and was pretty impressed with the new engine.

@@alexanderabboud4691 yea it was a higher spec big horn with led lights, bed utility package, 20" wheels, level 2, blind spot, and the upgraded stereo. I know some Laramie's were actually a little cheaper at the time but I did not want leather.

It seems like the conversation around elevated pricing is becoming "normal" with all the OEMs commanding a premium for a "less than premium" offering...$63K for the Ram? Seems high...relative to the competition not so much. If it means reducing the tech in the cars and the feature set I am ok with getting a bare bones, stripped down capable truck...

GUYS today is may 6th and in Canada a Jeep Rubicon X is 100k. Now on the Jeep website they raised the price 2k. No sales mean lower price right ? Stellantis has a new strategy raise the price on a vehicle that costs 20k to build. Stellantis is doing well I guess. The CEO said raising the price puts them in elite categories above Toyota. Yeah, the pricing of many trucks is absurd, has been for a while, and will be for a while, I'm sure. I looked at a Frontier since I wanted to test drive one and get a feel for it (I knew the steering was hydraulic instead of powered, but what threw me off was that I practically had to floor the gas because the weight was so much more than my little sedan). The model was an optioned-out $41k and the payment options were relatively close to my limit, so hopefully there's a good used one I can realistically afford when I have a chance to buy either later this year or early next year. I was worried the dealership would not be as flexible but there were rather accommodating ("aggressive" as they call themselves). I'll wait and see what pops up, and until then I'll try a few more models.

Do you mean the steering was hydraulic instead of electric? Electric steering is frequently numb and overboosted. The new Frontier is a good regular midsize truck. No gimmicks, no huge price tags.

Looks like GM is killing it in sales of the Silverado/Sierra in 2024. GM is having record breaking sales of the Sierra this year. Stellantis have to figure out how to sell more Rams as they have the plant capacity to build twice as many as they are selling now... 3 large plants and dealers with tons of inventory.

Man 68k is what I gave for my house in 2000 and its now worth 122k if I put 68k in that truck it will lose money in just a few years. No thanks I will keep buying used old trucks and putting my money into things that go up in value over time. NONE of the trucks made today are worth more than 30k people have just not learned how to say No to the continued price hikes. If people stopped paying the prices they put on them they would go down.
